Spoiler
Every number tells you how often to push one of the circles. Starting with the upper one you use the other for the next number then the other one again and so on.

... and do not forget that the code goes on after the numbers ;)

Thanks for the explanation. The hint given in the game didn't really help but Blondbraid's explanation of what the goal was did. I jotted on paper what happens after every click till I got it.

Thanks :)

Shadow1000:
Spoiler
1 refers to the top circle, 2 to the circle at the bottom. The goal is to click the circles until
Spoiler
the sword stabs through the dragons neck and a drop of blood falls into the chalice, then click on the crown.
If you click the wrong circle all reverts back to the original position.

I hope it helps!

Spoiler
Ok that was my first guess, but what about 3..? What does that refer to?

THank you

Edited: Ok I figured this one out by trial and error.

A couple of people have downloaded the game by now - thank you all.

There might be some need for hints and tips, so I start up this thread for that purpose.

Well, I'm stuck
Spoiler
at the church. I have the hint 1-2-1-1-1-3-1-1-1 Crown and I'm clicking at the circles but I don't have any leads as to what the numbers mean. I don't think they mean where to click so I'm guessing that they refer to the sword position but I'm just not getting this one.

Being the only entrant makes it kind of null and void really.

I completely understand what you mean that it's a let down to win a contest that no one else entered.

HOWEVER, the reality is that the game was fun, entertaining and really funny and I know that I enjoyed it and most likely the others here who played it did as well. Congrats on that aspect!

Looks terrific and being from Toronto I'm excited about the Canadian content and especially the ROM. Good luck!

#726
That was FUNNY, especially the ending. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard at something that silly. Thanks for the demo.

I finished the game by restoring Day 16 and playing from there on.

It really is an excellent game in terms of the graphics and puzzles.

It would be great if the scripting bugs would be addressed so players won't have the game crash if they do things differently than expected. As well, the translation needs a lot of improvement.

Best of luck.

Considering how much I enjoyed Adventure Island as well as how beautiful these backgrounds are, I have high expectations for this release!

Shadow,

I hate to break it to you, but you need to start over to finish the game. Everyone has the same copy and I can't say what went wrong in your playthrough.
If you speed-run the walkthrough it'll take you half an hour to reach the point where you got stuck. It's cool that you want to complete this, by the way.

Sebastian

I started again from the beginning. I got through Day 1 and was going up the stairs to go to bed and there was the speech "Good morning Randolph" from the empty chair and the game shut down. It seems that even following the walkthrough doesn't get you through without scripting errors?

Ok then that's where I got stuck:

Spoiler
. Drive to the
university next and show all three books to Prof. Moon. Entering the city map now will trigger
night time, and there is nothing left to do than to drive home. Walk to your room, change into
your pajamas and go to bed.
[close]

This does not work for me. I did this over and over on saved games and it did NOT trigger night time. I started playing Jan 18 before Jan 17 was over. What do I need to do to trigger nighttime once I have the books? Simply showing them to the professor doesn't do it. Is there an order that has to be followed? A specific dialogue option that may have been missed?

I just played this. It is HILARIOUS! Another classic in Slasher style. Great adaptation of the MAGS theme and I'm still laughing :)

Well done

@Shadow

I'm pretty sure you missed something before the Ju-Ju House that messed up the journal entries but let the game still continue:

Spoiler
Did you visit Emerson Imports a second time on the 18th and had the plot advanced by Mr. Emerson in the back office OR did the Harlem Location (Ju-Ju House) appear without that and/or after visiting Prof. Moon at the university?
[close]

Trying to sort this out now,
Sebastian

1) Remember, I'm still on the 17th. I haven't gotten to the 18th yet.
2) The Ju Ju house didn't appear. I drove around the map randomly because I had run out of anything to actually do after giving him the books and revisting all locations
3) I did revisit Emerson but the boss was not there.

Shadow: I assume the dev can't replicate the crash. Do you get a print-out of the scripting error? Try posting it at one of the tech-subforums, just to make sure it's related to the actual script and not unique to your machine.

I'm not sure what a tech-subforum is but if it helps someone resolve the error, here is a screenshot of the problem. I've never used the AGS but the wording on the error seems to indicate a scripting error.

#734
Ok, maybe someone who finished the game has a save from after this point?

Starting over won't help if I get the same crashing at this point...

SHADOW
#735
There must be some other action you have to take for it to not crash. I did all those. What do you mean by "InvUse"? I assume you just mean to open the inventory, click the arrow on the crowbar and then use it with the boards. Is there something that has to be done prior to this? Perhaps something in the shop or something..?

Hey Shadow

Yeah sorry, it's my first (hopelessly over-ambitious) effort with AGS, and the game never crashed at that place before. All I can say is that other members of the community finished the game just fine. Try an earlier save, break the planks before the ladder or start over. Anyway, it's cool you're digging that deep into our game at all, hope you've enjoyed it so far.

Sebastian

I restored from a game prior to ever visiting the area. I spoke to the guy in the store then broke the planks before the ladder and looking at the chute or interacting with it will crash the game with a scripting error. Is there a way to get past this? There must be if others, including the testers, have completed the game.

Thank you

@Shadow1000

Thanks for pointing that out, both bugs never occured during our numerous play-throughs, but then, testing the game in the later stages gets much more tedious, needing all the variables in place as well. MILD SPOILERS: After he says to 'wait until dark' you are supposed to talk with Al, who has the (new) dialog option to drive around until dusk.

Sebastian

Right, but the problem is that as soon as he says "wait for dark" then the game crashes and shuts off. How can I get the new dialog without looking at or interacting with the chute?

Thank you

I couldn't at that point in time and got the hint to come back later (the shop owner is still in the shop9.
I have no idea why you are blocked. I also crossed the gap, but that was it. So I asked the driver...

I am also not aware that there where different versions of the game.

Sorry, not clear what you're saying

Spoiler
I cross the gap using the cables. The next item is the chute. If I click it it says that I should come back when it's night and then the game crashes and shuts down. So I'm trying to progress without clicking the chute.

Shadow, you are on the right track
Spoiler

Talk to the driver, you should have a new option now in the dialog

Spoiler

He just says "we need to get out of here" or something and that takes me back to the map.

Are you sure you don't need to look at or use the chute to continue?
