Very entertaining short game. Absolutely hilarious! Well done

I'm loving everything about this game so far! It looks like a lot of work went into every detail.

Unfortunately the game crashed on me and I lost my progress since last save.

Spoiler
I tried using the scraper on the damage in Mrs. Jenkins' office and the game shut down

Funny, cute and gorgeous art. The game basically plays itself but as a beginner's project or proof of concept, I really like it!

I just finished the game with a 10/10.

Overall: GOOD game.

It could do with some polish like correcting spelling errors and the ability to speed things up. I found the slow walking and animation to be annoying at times. I found a glitch:

Spoiler
when you get back to the police station for the interrogation, if you go back to the car instead of the station, you end up at the murder scene again

Things like this should have been caught during proper testing.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the graphics and puzzles, although the puzzles weren't exactly the traditional type.

I am wondering where the graphics are from?

Great game so far.

Questions:

Is there a way to speed up the walk cycle? it looks nice but it's a bit slow for actual gameplay
I saved my game a few times but when I start the game, I click "Load" and it does not have my saved games in the list. Once the game starts there must be a way to load a saved game? I tried saving again and my previous saves are in there so it seems like something's wrong with the loading.

I really enjoyed this game. As noted by others, the graphics are very pleasing, the puzzles and story are funny and delightful. This is a well done short game.

The music, as annoying as it is, just somehow fit the game and I did not disable it.

One thing to improve:

Spoiler
I forgot what the rubber band was after it went into inventory. As an aside, there's quite a large number of inventory items for a short game with just one (big) room. It was hard to tell what the rubber band was from the picture.

Perhaps consider a hover-over description or an "eye" icon as part of the inventory screen to make items more identifiable.

Otherwise, fun and good game!

I'm using Windows 7. No error message - it just jumped to the credit page.

I finished the game. I tried both endings and neither video that you posted on the first page loaded. Are they supposed to load when you finish the game?

I spoke too soon.

Spoiler
I did the corpse again. I went to the bell room to try the drum puzzle and when I click the drum on the most left (I assume that's A?) it says "drumbeat count 1". I accept the message and keep clicking the sequence and nothing happens. Once again, I am counting AA as hitting the drum on the farthest left twice, then DE as the 4th then 5th and so on. I am using the pattern AA DE BE DC AA based on the page in the journal.

Never mind. The puzzle goes backward from the sequence I thought. It does from the guy being alive to being dead.

What am I doing wrong?

Nope. I can't get that save to work with the 1.4 that I downloaded. It just says unable to restore and closes down.

It should be under C:\Users\%computername%\Saved Games\Ouroboros - The Sacrifice

I saved in the hub and it won't load. Do you happen to have a copy of a save from that point that  you know works with version 1.4 that you can post somewhere or email?

Ok and will I be able to load my saved game or will I have to start from the beginning once I download the new version?

So is there a sequence that will let me continue or is the game now not finishable? I must have spent about 45 minutes on this room.

I am stuck
Spoiler
in the bell room. I assume that the drum sequence is explained on the page of the journal with the pictures of the faces with lettered captions. I also assume that they are sequenced as indicated in the bottom right of that page. I assume that the goal is to go from the most dead looking character to the one who is alive. That would be: AA DE BE DC AA. However, that sequence doesn't work.

So, I must be wrong about the sequence and I guessed that maybe it's supposed to go from alive to dead rather than the other way, So, I reversed the sequence but that didn't work either.

I noted that the diagram on the bottom right has A below B and so on whereas the drums in the drum room have the farthest left higher than the one to its right. So I guessed that maybe it's upside down. That didn't work either.

I did use the sphere on the tube next to the corpse so I figure I must be finished with the corpse.

So, I really don't know where I'm going wrong. Help would be appreciated.

I keep getting stuck on one of the

journal pages. It won't go back to the game when I open that page. I have to force it down and reload.

I also don't see a way to load the game from the opening menu. It seems that you have to play through the opening and dialogues to get to the point where you can load. Am I missing something?

I finished the game. My thoughts:

This game is excellent in all the areas that really matter when I assess a game.

- The graphics and environment are exceptional. I am amazed what can be done so attractively with so few colours. In addition, the animations are super-smooth. I also noticed that the sounds used are more realistic than most games.
- I give the puzzles a high rating. I only got really stuck a few times and most of the other puzzles were exactly at that sweet spot where they are challenging but can be solved one step before frustration. It's not easy designing puzzles like that! There's a perfect combination of inventory puzzles, object puzzles, positioning items puzzles, some trial and error and ok, some dumb luck :D
- The story is a perfect length with a complexity level that fits the length of the game just right. It unfolds and flows at the exact rate to complement the puzzles to keep the player engaged.

Some other comments:
- What some games use comedy and laughs to achieve, this game uses gloom and despair and does it really well. The low-colour graphics really set the mood intended for this.
- I am very impressed by all the "extras": there are many elements in the game that are not essential for game play that add a lot of polish and appeal to the game.

As Anke said, I can't think of anything to improve in the game or any flaws except
Spoiler
I wish I had found it sooner! :D

It seems that this is the author's first game, in which case it's an exceptional release and I recommend that anyone play it.

Kudos

QuoteWhat are you talking about? It makes perfect sense. :-D

Could be that I'm just not familiar with the type of fuse referred to in the game. Remember, circuit breakers replaced fuses decades ago so fuses aren't that common except in old houses. The ones I've seen look like this.

Maybe the ones you use

shoot heroin and are therefore fixed accordingly
