Here's a handy article that may be of some help. Happy reading!   :D

Wow, an art question that I can answer... this is a first. Warm colours are tones that have a feeling of hot, things that remind you of heat... like the sun (yellow), fire (orange, red), and those sorts of things. Cool colours give the feeling of cold, so obviously blues (water, ice) and greens and such. That was probably a really bad explaination, so here's a colour chart that could help: http://iit.bloomu.edu/vthc/Design/warmAndCool.htm.

Hope that helps!

There's about a hundred videos i could share, but here's a couple of my favourites:
This famous ad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oP5J4W5GQ3w has incredible footage, and a beautiful song that fast became one of my favourites. Excellent.

This one is just plain wrong yet you can't help laughing, until the final few seconds when it goes from funny to legendary with a mammal squirrel grip: <warning don't show the kids> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13YtT5RElwo.

I may put some others up at some point.

Very cool, good find. I guess while we're on the subject, this one deserves a mention: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nw3-nZae5Y&feature=related

Another testament to the fact way too many people out there have way too much free time haha. Could be worse though, he could spend his time designing adventure games.  ;D

Well, all the cool kids are doing it, so guess I should join in:

My sister's a photographer and she wanted to give my parents professional photos of their kids for Christmas... so there I am. I hadn't shaved in a few days, which might just allow me to migrate into the AGS herd, where facial hair seems to be almost a prerequisite.  :)

Here's another of me on Schoolies (the Australian celebration of finishing high school, by all getting blasted off our faces and partying all night for a week):

Apparently while trashed I figured it would be fun to cram myself into a cupboard. Best week of my life haha, R.I.P. my liver.

Well, I look forward to your offers of dirty sinful love and various 'soldier with gun at cupboard' photoshoppings... enjoy!

I don't think it's a farce because of Hallmark (any more than any other holiday).  I hate valentines day because if a man needs a holiday as an excuse to be romantic to a woman and show his love to her ... he's already lost and might as well not even bother.

Sometimes I think romance has died because of valentines day.  People assume that cramming all their romance into that one day is enough for the year.  And then even sadder, a lot of women I've talked to soooo eagerly look forward to that one day 'cause they know it's the only time of year romance is lumped on them.  And what's worse is they accept this.  I find that sad.

I complete agree with that, Valentine's Day should NEVER be the only day a year romance is given out... which is as you say, an unfortunate reality for some. But the way I view Valentine's Day is a celebration of the idea of romance, not just an excuse to only do it one day a year. So enjoy the day everyone, and bear in mind you should be romantic every day of the year, if you're fortunate enough to have that special someone.  ;)

Seconded, Happy Valentine's Day to everyone who isn't going to bitch that the whole thing is a farce set up by Hallmark.  ;)
Thanks for the crabs Cameron, I'll add them to the collection. I'm still trying to wrap your present (anyone know of a way to gift wrap Gonorrhea?)
Unfortunately the girl I'm getting with at the moment lives 2 hours away because I'm not moving near her town for another week... so the best I could do was send a rose. Everyone, get your lovin' on, today's the day for it!   :)

Never used chat up lines, really. Used to be too shy for them, and I considered them arrogant and generally stupid.
Good to see we agree completely on that one.
Quote from: voh on Mon 11/02/2008 04:11:22Best chat up line used on me in the past few months was "If I offer you a beer, is your girlfriend going to be jealous?" at which I of course responded "If you offer me a beer, I can guarantee you I don't have one." and the evening was good
Great response haha, you earned that beer lol. Girls love a funny guy.

Here's a couple more a friend told me she and her friends have heard: "Do you have a map? I just keep on getting lost in your eyes." And one that isn't as poxy: "I was trying to think of a pick-up line, but you've left me speechless".

Speaking from my experience and what I've seen, chat-up lines just are never a good idea, and tend to make you look like a cheesy wanker. Unless you're really good looking, a girl is probably going to reject you instantly like you've been trying that line on every girl in the club (and you probably have  ;)). Girls respond a whole lot better to an innocent conversation starter & maybe a compliment on how they look. Take it from a guy who got lucky 2 nights ago, and has never used a pick up line  ;D.

To back me up, here's a couple my sister have heard; "Your dad must be Osama, because you're the bomb"... "ever tripped over a tree? No? Then how about a root?" In every case, she's laughed in the guy's face and walked off instantly. I've seen plenty of other girls do it to guys as well.

It's so hard to pick just one Greatest, but here's my number 1 pick and the rest:

1) The Curse Of Monkey Island - Words can't express how much I love this game (and indeed, the entire series). The visuals of this game are jaw dropping and my favourite game art, from the beautiful surroundings of Plunder Island, to the hauntingly amazing atmosphere of Blood Island and Big Whoop. From the amazing storyline and puzzles to the remarkably funny dialogue and situations Guybrush finds himself in. From the sensational voice acting bringing the MI characters to life, to the incredible music score... all of this combined would immerse me in the world of Monkey Island, feeling as though I was in the game and not just playing it... a rarity for third-person adventure games. Couldn't count the amount of times I played the whole series, especially this game, growing up.

2) Grim Fandango - It was the story. I remember being unable to stop playing for a week or two the first time, because I had know what happened to Manny and co. Another glorious game filled with a narrative like nothing I'd ever imagined before, and beautiful scenery you could immerse yourself in.

3)Monkey Island 1 & 2: The beginnings of a legend. For mostly the same reasons as Curse of Monkey Island, only from a different era. I started playing Secret of Monkey Island as a 6 year old, had no idea what was going on haha. It took me years to track down Lechuck's Revenge in my town, but I did it... and much of my childhood was spent on these masterpieces.

4) Sam'n'Max Series (new and old): Hilarious. Won't say any more as I'm starting to ramble.

5) Beneath A Steel Sky: Sci-fi genius.

6) Monkey Island 4: Lost some of the piratey appeal and essential charm that made the others great in some parts, and a couple of utterly embarrassing plot holes, but still a top shelf game... besides, I will follow the series til the bitter end (which was basically a while ago it would seem).

The Rumpus Room / Re: Best ROCK song ever!
Thu 31/01/2008 22:38:44
For me THE best rock song ever has been (since I first heard it), and always will be:

Everlong - Foo Fighters

If you've never heard it, do yourself a favour and have a listen. It sends shivers down my spine, I even bought a guitar mainly intending to learn to play it. Not only that, but the acoustic version is a good one to play to a lady friend.  ;)

I'm going to watch them in concert in April, and that song is always last... can't wait!

Chris has a humour?

Oh God, that's terrible Chris... are they able to cut it out? Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

In case people don't get that, think of a term that rhymes with humour, and then I won't look like a babbling nutcase. Much.  ;)

The Rumpus Room / Re: Cheesy subtitle for AGS

AGS: That's the second biggest blue cup I've ever seen!
Quickly, before it loads: shut down, go find a girlfriend before it's too late.
AGS: Because not all hopeless nerds are playing WoW.
AGS: Spread the love of adventure, not herpes
60% of the time, it works every time.
AGS: Yesterday's tomorrow, today!
