Spacedating, not for the faint of heart! Great work man!

Awesome job on those animations!  Glad to hear that this is almost finished. :)

Love the Birthday Boys / Judgement Wardens concept, and totally agree about the gonzo-level cultural warfare nuking the planet from orbit right now.  This is my jam!  As if there wasn't already enough reason to love this game!

Awesome job man! Feels properly old-school. :)  Good choice on going the indie route as well.  You can't put a price tag on creative and business independence. ;)

I will be live-streaming work on this game tomorrow, 3PM Eastern Time!  Come hang out!

Post-apocalyptic cyborg goth girls, you better work.

Awesome entries all around!  That is looking pretty fantastic, Eggie. ;)  I like Funkpanzer's studly lifeguard melodrama concept as well.  Sounds like it will be a riot!

Here's a sneak peek at what's in the works (not so sneaky for those in the know ;) ):

Thanks everyone for your support and kind feedback!

@Tycho: It took about a week to get this entire thing done.  The way I design, I kind of do concept art + the game art simultaneously, so part of the process here was just figuring out what the game itself was going to look like, before going into the, "churning out the art" phase.  This scene in particular is the biggest scenes, and so I wanted to really nail it, to identify the look, the feel, and to light the player's interest to keep on going with this game.

You're absolutely right about the Bladerunner, Terminator, Star Wars, and other influences.  If you haven't yet already, I would check out Neofeud, which has all of those influences, and more (it's almost a love letter to Terminator and Bladerunner). ;)  http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=54627.0

Great work!  I can definitely see the signature art style coming through here, from Kathy Rain, etc.  There are a lot of dystopias, post-apocalypses, and generally society-had-issues due to machine malfunction, but few set in... smaller towns.  Particularly ones that have this sort of look to them, with all that space and nature in between the little car crashes and hints of future architecture.

Very much looking forward to this!

Love the style!  Looks like it indeed could become a classic. :)  I have to concur with Shadow though, I would recommend an easier save system so as not to frustrate potential fans.

Sounds fascinating! Good luck with the full version of the game. :)

Scandalous! I hope we get a least a few sex scenes, what with all of this teasing.  If you show a gun in the first act, you must use it in the third! ;)

Congrats to Tycho and Rocchinator! And thanks everyone for your votes. I already have a pair of silver slippers to match my silver trench coat, so the Bronze Slippers will be a great addition to my wardrobe!

In all seriousness, this was probably the toughest competition I've ever witnessed on the AGS forum, and there have been *a lot* of competitions. I barely felt qualified to *vote* on the entries, they were so good. So amazing job, everyone involved! Gives one hope for the community, it does. :)

So the good news is, I'm going to be participating in this competition.

The bad news is, I'm going to be participating in this competition!  Ohnoes, teh pressure! :O  I've been making like one background a week, so I'm going to have to start kicking that up a few notches here, but it will be good to get the mind-body-wacom tablet chakras back operating at full capacity again. :)

Great work man!  I like the concept of choosing your character as well.  The descriptions for them were spot-on!

Livestream #5 - Silver Spook talks the troubling future, mental health, universal basic income, and future projects with science fiction author Brandon Hovey!

I think the only background that's ever taken me longer was The Neofeud Sky Palace.

Worth it, though, I think!

Neofeud voice actor highlight #1 - Brandon C. Hovey

"Brandon Hovey plays an unhinged, sociopathic American dictator, from the dystopian adventure game Neofeud. Brandon discusses his process of getting into the "Apocalypse Now" mindset by chewing rough beef jerky and having some strong bourbon. (I promise I wrote this story way before Trump was elected, damn reality getting the scoop on sci-fi again!)"
