Loving this game!  I think I'd love it even more if I was an alt-chick from the 90's!  Which is why I'm recommending it to my wife, because she basically WAS Kathy Rain in '95, minus being a detective. :)

Awesome job, Clifftop Games!

Well, we're now at 264 votes or so on Steam Greenlight!  Looks like there's a lot of movement on the greenlighting front too so there might be a good chance.

Anyway, here's something I'm just going to mysteriously toss out there... ;)

Haven't had time to read this entire thread, but I'm interested in the Patreon or other on-going funding mechanism to help the the AGS developers out.  Especially if it could lead to better user experiences and Mac / iOS compatibility.

I'm also with Wadjet Eye in that I came from alternate engines, Unity in particular, because AGS was just way, way easier to make adventure games in.  And I'm saying that having been lead programmer on 3D Unity games and Half Life and Unreal mods over decades -- AGS just has the least overhead to think about, the least fixer-upperness to fixer-up, and is the most robust in the adventure scene.

Yeah that is looking pretty awesome!

Thanks guys for the support!  Fingers crossed here as well. :)

@alphadalekben: Thanks a bunch for looking into this YouTube coverage, man.  Whatever works for your friend. :)

That is a total trip!  Love the art style!  Good luck with this- there needs to be more surrealist-looking stuff out there. :)

Thanks guys for your support!  I like DRM-free myself if possible, also.

So the big news is, I'm planning to give away the Neofeud bonus content (soundtrack + script) free to anyone who buys Neofeud through the Itch.io store before Neofeud makes it onto Steam.

If you buy it early, you'll also get a free Neofeud Steam key when it makes it to Steam.  So you get the DRM free version AND the Steam version!  You can think of it as a pre-order of sorts. :)

In addition, Steam takes a much bigger cut of the revenue compared to Itch.io, so it'd help me out with financing Neofeud 2 if you bought through the Itch store. :)

Here's a link to it for convenience:

*Note: if you get Neofeud accidentally on the same day as Neofeud gets Greenlit or something of the sort, don't worry, I'll give a reasonable grace period.  The main thing is just encouraging folks who are interested in the game, but want to wait for it on Steam, to put the order in early.

*Note #2: Yes, I am turning the brain-cogs on a new project.  Stay tuned.  ;)

In creative limbo between Neofeud and the next project, so I think I'll play your game this round.

Nevermind, don't wait for me, looks like I won't have much time after all do to RL!  Good luck to all entrants, though!

General Discussion / Question About Steam Keys
Mon 17/04/2017 19:31:31
Question for devs who've gotten onto Steam...  If a game (i.e. Neofeud) gets Greenlit on Steam, and some folks have already bought the game elsewhere, would the developer (I) be able to give Steam keys to the folks who have already paid for the game elsewhere?  I see that some games, like Kathy Rain say that people who've bought the game elsewhere can get a free Steam key...  Did Clifftop have to pay extra for the Steam keys or do they get like some free keys to give away as the developer?  Thanks!  (/Steam dev noob)
#592
Sure, if you think he'd do it, why not!  Thanks!

EDIT:

4/17 - You can also vote for Neofeud on GOG!

EDIT 2:

Thanks Bavolis, Problem, and Chicky for the anecdotes and encouragement.  I guess I just kind of have been trying to figure out how the Greenlight thing works, having never used it before, and got a certain impression that you had to make it up to the top of the list to have a chance.  So it's good to know that that isn't the case necessarily. :)

At this point I'm just trying to figure out how to get a review or a Youtuber to play Neofeud (other than my own playthrough).  If anyone knows someone who might want to do such, let me know!

Hey, I'm not the guy who keep painting people with no clothes on. :P

Tycho- I'm not on IRC though you can feel free to message me. :)

Fantastic pixel art, sir!  Having recently completed a cyberpunk-ish, adult-oriented game, I am looking to future projects, and this might be up my alley.

Having done all the work on Neofeud aside from some of the voice acting, I'd love to be able to work with an artist and just focus mostly on the scripting, storytelling side of things.

Neofeud has shipped, is selling reasonably well, and so far people don't seem to have any problems with it, so I'm assuming my coding abilities are at least acceptable. ;)

Either way, good luck with your project!  It looks great so far!

Congrats on the positive reviews, and on people owning it!

As a somewhat tangential question, how long did it take to get Tales greenlit on Steam, by chance?

Perhaps our blonde nekkid protagonist is part whale........

Fantastic!  You had me at, "Criticize ironic self portrait."

Will be keeping eyes on this one for sure.

Mostly I'm just looking at the Greenlight number required to get to the top 100, the current votes for Neofeud (1/10th of the way to top 100), and the announcement by Valve that Greenlight will be replaced by Steam Direct in Spring 2017.  Short of a major review or a Pewdiepie-grade Youtuber spotlighting Neofeud, it's tough to see how the math adds up. :/

If Neofeud doesn't make it on Steam before Greenlight ends, I will take a look at Steam Direct, which apparently could cost between $100 and $5000.  I just hope it's not at the 5k end.

Thanks for the encouragement though!
