I cannot use the new version as i have this problem
.net 2.0 needs to be installed this is fine until it tells me i need to update windows
our servey said    eck errr
I dont have a valid windows key
so i cant get it installed until i get vista or maybe a Very very good Copy of XP !!

Can someone show me where I went wrong here I went thru the manual and it said to do this ?

But it wont work it says
Error (line 4) expected ',' or ';' not PlayVideo
Have i missed something ??

PS wwot2.avi is in the compiled folder and i know that its spelt correctly

I have recently started building a full length Adventure game and everything is going fine. I'm just missing 2 Things

1st up Fading credits - I'd like them to be displayed as the intro animation ( built in AGS) is played          =        Fade in ... display message ... Fade out
2nd     How do you build a Start screen I.E  displays the options of New Game, Restore or Quit 

I didnt know where to post these questions as to me they are technical but to others they may be basic ...   shoot me if I'm wrong

These totals are low right now as it is a 1 man team

First Development Diary

May 20th

Hi everybody, this is the first adventure game made by me. It is something i have tried to start for a few years now so finally i have got myself together to do it.
    So far i have

    9 Backgrounds all fully furnished including candle flickers.
    Planned the whole from start to finish including locations
    Designed 4 seperate characters and have loads more to go
    Written only 15 lines of dialogue and 20 messages but i havent completed the intro sequence
    Recorded a few sound effects
    Designed new icon for the game
    Retouched 4 Backgrounds
    Designed a personal Gui incuding Inventory and Soon a settings bar   
    The text display box has its own design
    Created two videos for the game including an AGS advert all in flash
    Began to understand the scripting for AGS

I'm having some problems with this ive done a few drawings of this cell but i cant seem to get it right
I have supplied the basic image but it doesnt look right at all, It is the right scale in comparisson with the character but I cannot get the room to look right
Also it must fit with this scheme

I have a problem wid this network i want to be able to use the programs on my main computer but i cant, ive been trying to sort this out for a while
I'v dug around the settings of my network and ive even been into my routers settings yet to no avail

I can get the internet on both but File and Printer sharing aint having it Any ideas folks
PS the spaced lines = a wireless connection

    Lately i have had a number of different people asking me how to get rid of random virus' etc so i though what the heck i'l write a bit of info as to what i would do (Please note that my computers are all virus trojan etc free and have been that way for a long time)

Note try reading up on different types on google, Find out what these things do

Things to remember   

Update Spybot twice a month as this will help you get no bugs

Run random checks on your PC to ensure that Friends arent doing it on purpose

I have a problem which is doing my head in. This is my structure for the side of a house including all the rooms needed

The rooms which EGO will not be in will disapear and then reapear when he has entered the room.
But .... is the structure right for what i want to achieve
the middle rooms are where a staircase will be from top to bottom but it does'nt seem right somehow im thinking i should make the floor of the top middle a bit flatter
as with the roof of the bottom left ... but in doing this the house may seem mishaped
Whats a guy to do ??

       So here I am at my workstation, ideas pinned to the walls, spider diagrams everywhere relating to various things (puzzles, charaters and cheeky dialogue) and then Wham... it hits me for the third time in a week the dreaded block. I figured that of all the games that are made here, Writers block must be the one thing that each team experiences, Whether it is the one man teams or the 8 or 9 person strong ones.
So it has come to me to start this thread.
What is the perfect way that you use to create a fully enjoyable game. What methods do you use,what do you do to get away from it all. coz i'm struggling to get stuff done and i thought i'd try and get some light shed on other things i could be doing before i loose interest AGAIN lol

Here is another piece of my work, it is an underground town. The Pool in the middle is supposed to look like a meteor (its been there quite a while might i add)
What do you the people think of it and do you have any ideas for the back wall.
Other things like lamps, washing lines etc will be added in the foreground and where the light patches are

Hello all you AGSers     ...loverly people they are...

I have just started making my first proper game The Cave (Will be retitled )
Its basic and the demo only portrays a basic plot-line with  minor puzzle (all up for redevelopment)
The reason I post this here is because
A) It is not good enough by a long shot for a slot in the short games part lol
B) It has not got any screenshots as they are not final backgrounds
C) I wanted to see whether the file host was worth praising or not

Any way feedback would be nice hope you all like my first 3hrs of serious Game creation

Hello folk its Sin the Problemed guy again

I was just wondering about if i can speed up a set characters speech speed
I want this person to say a word but i want each letter to appear one after the next like this
P
PE
PEO
PEOP
PEOPL
PEOPLE

Each letter gradulently spelling the word i want 
I have written the dialogue but when i test it each letter takes a letter  2 seconds apprx to appear   I was thinking more of a tenth of a second lol   any ideas folks ?

I have started building a game and cannot get my head around the coding at all
can anyone help me by pointing me in the right direction on how to build a fully functioning gui from scratch     just like the one from the demo game or default game   
i have tried splicing things from the script which i think i understand but i am at a loss. If i get my head around it fully who knows i may make a tutorial for other noobs like myself lol

For some time now i have been trying crack the code of writing the perfect adventure game, and still i have come to no avail. so it has come to my attention to point out a real god of the writers and one who is often overlooked  ***Re Presenting Yahtzee ***
