Hi

I have never used READ/WRITE files before though i know many have.

I have some questions i need a hand with.

At the end of each game the players' score gets written to a file that gets uploaded to a site and is stored there among other players score as one file. All different players' scores get added as well. 

On every new game ags pulls that file from the site and displays all the scores, along with who scored what and going from high to low. It is always updated.

Is this doable and if so how should i go about it?

Gone fishin' is a game where you stack up on the beer and head off to your favorite fishing venues to relax and do some fishing.

"When the partner's been nagging or the kids have been playing up or your day has been getting worse do what i do: Grab yourself a couple of cold beers and mosy on down for some relaxing fishing."

With the right bait and tackle you can catch fish like roach, rudd, bream, pike, carp etc....

In each venue (3) there is a monster fish.. can you hook and catch them all?

All fish caught are returned safely to the water and none were harmed during the making of this game.

There are no time limits or an end to the game: play for 5 minutes or play for 5 weeks (laugh)

Catch the most fish and get the prestigious AGS Fishermans' Cup.

Editor Development / Lock Mouse

It has come to my attention over the past few games of mine that it would be great to have a lock mouse command.

EG
Throwing an object at a Hotspot using mouse x y and if you then move the mouse before the object reaches its destination it causes the object to veer off course. If you could command to 'lock the mouse' on mouse click and returning once move has finished this would stop the object veering off course.

I for one would find this very useful instead of going around the houses (nod)

This is almost Scavengers' last post.

for some reason the save list scroll does not scroll..

any reasons as to why it should not?

Story: GHOSTCATCHERS is about three college friends who are studying paranormal activity and want to become ghostcatchers'.

It's a pilot introductory game for these would-be ghostcatchers'.

Under a professor of paranormal activity they set off to check out an old creepy mansion deep in the woods that is said to be very haunted and its owners packed up and left long ago due to being scared off!

Is that a hideous ghost or just the creaking of a floorboard?

And what about the mansions' graveyard?!

And even worse... the destruction of their town!!!!!

Do the amateur Ghostcatchers' have the nerve to face the daunting prospects of coming face-to-face with spooks?

With your Ghost books and tools in hand how many ghosts will they trap in their confinement boxes?

General Discussion / locker puzzle ideas

Hi,

i have a key and lockers that i am trying to make into a puzzle in order to get another key inside the correct locker.

the key numbers have faded showing only 2 of the 4 numbers...

there are 24 numbered lockers.

ideas welcomed.

Conspiracy: Below zero.

FBI agents Malden and Leech try to conclude another baffling conspiracy case that the government won't acknowledge.

This conspiracy involves a myth that Hitler was frozen in an ice chamber (known as project 'Below zero') to be brought back in a future time. It was body doubles who committed suicide in the bunker that fateful day on 29th April 1945.

A letter arrives at the FBI claiming that the myth is in fact true.

Who is the mysterious smoking guy?

Did Hitler really die in the bunker that day? Is project 'Below zero' just a myth?

"The truth is here. Trust no one. We are ready to believe."

This is a more serious venture than my previous games......

This is a more serious venture than my previous games......

It would be a great enhancement to the AGS site if there was another Forum added.

I propose a Game Setup and Scripting Tips where experienced members could add Setup and Scripting Tips beyond actual beginners questions.

Member can Post but there would be no 'Reply' link as this is not for asking questions but to find answers, and naturally Mods would moderate the posts.

There are tons of things that beginners don't know or comprehend. For example: Stopping certain actions when a GUI is shown as the clicks go through the GUI or which Filter to use to best run a particular game for instance. This is an endless entity.

Experienced members would simply add useful posts that may cut down some of the question in the Beginners Forum.

Members could peruse the Game Setup and Scripting Tips and hopefully pick up helpful advice.

Comments / views welcomed.

hi

i have a room (640 x 480). no walkable areas. edges set correctly. one region for light. two object  doors. both doors measure exactly the same yet one supersizes beyond its supposed size.. have moved it yet still it is enlarged.

looks ok in editor.

any ideas?

A spy game for the hunt of red mercury bombs being developed by Skull: an organisation of crime and terror.

Head of Skull is Mu Fanchu.

Mu Fanchu is developing red mercury bombs (once thought red mercury was a hoax) which have an explosive power that the world has never seen before.

He plans to destroy every major city and rule as the world leader.

Travel the world in your hunt.

Can you, as 009 stop the development of red mercury bombs by capturing Mu Fanchu and destroying the development lab?

When the world calls..

Game finished and now looking for Game Testers.

A spy game in the style of Bond.

The race is on to stop megalamaniac Mu Fanchu from taking over the world.

Some light moments though there are some scenes x rated.

Game play around 90 minutes.

Hi,

This error keeps popping up every so often. I close the editor (no to save), restart and all is back to normal.

I expect a windows problem.

Any ideas as to why this should happen regularly and can it be remedied?
