--------------------------- Mag competition for April 2018 ---------------------------

Can you find and bring back the Ring of Power that can stop time itself?

Storyline:

After travelling to Glasburgh University, to attend lectures by Professor Higgins you find yourself volunteering for a dangerous quest for Professor Higgins who believes, through ancient scrolls that he has finally found the location of the Ring of Power. He wants you to fly to Assabar, India and enter the secret hidden Temple of Bhindiwara and find and bring back the Ring of Power that can stop time itself!

The Ring of Power was once worn by Shabgur, an evil warlord of India. He turned the seasons to eternal winters and the daylight to nights. During a bloody battle, Shabgur lost his hand with the Ring of Power on and so retreated.

The Bhindiwara's found that they could not smash or melt the Ring so decided to hide it in a secret, hidden temple so that man could never again have the power to stop time.

The Ring of Power has remained in the Temple of Bhindiwara for over two thousand years.

* Don't worry if you do something really silly and die...you can't keep a good man down thanks to a Save Game restore function.
* You are no James Bond and only equip yourself with a rope as you set off on your quest.
* Overcome the most devious obstacles.
* Using Professor Higgins' notes you explore the Chambers in the Temple of Bhindiwara.
* How fast can you complete your quest and return with the Ring of Power?... your time is revealed at the end. (laugh)
* The fastest time by May 12th (with a screen shot of proof) will be awarded the certificate of 'Legendary artifact hunter' signed by Reef Rivers himself (nod)

The question is: Are you alone?

* Esc to skip text cutscenes.

Hi Mandle,

Thanks for your comments...

If a game plays fine then that is a good starting place..

Don't we all see a better way of doing somethings once the song is sung?

Stopping Time would be where time never passes and stays the same...like the season...etc...

If this were a full length game much more would have gone into it, but as it was it was for MAG'S...(nod)

cheers

I probably will stay out... for some odd reason the only thing I can think of are mazes... then again Rat Maze is a catchy name... (laugh)(roll)
A Rat mother leading her young out of a maze filled with dangers and misdirection.. sounds good.. Go for it Cassiebsg (nod)

Morgan LeFlay: Hope you have enough time to create an entry (nod)

Well... I'm afraid that my game will be to ordinary for a winning game. :undecided:
No such thing... and even so...ordinary can be good...it could be a winner if it's done well (nod)

Hi

AGS Build 3.4.0.14

This just happened when making a loop but went to normal when revisited:

I had a thought.... There are some members that are great at drawing, animating etc that to a newbie might be a bit daunting and put them off entering when they look at their own work.

To stop this from happening what if members could only show images/videos/Completed game link in the last week of the contest before voting starts?

I myself am guilty of this...

What do you lot think?

1. Participants could anticipate the scope of the contest ("June is here in a week... I can expect a broad theme. I'm in!")
2. The contest wouldn't be weighted too heavily in one direction or the other.
Spoiler

As it's my topic for May I will be going for a broader topic with scope to interpret as you so wish with no asset use restrictions.

I have several topics for May in which I am deciding which one to pick...

For those who have not entered the MAG monthly competition...

Stupot and many others encourage you to enter the Mag monthly competition, whatever your level.

The rules are currently being looked at to make things better all round and to attract you to enter the competition.

The competition rules will vary month to month and you are certain to find something you can get your teeth into whatever skill level you are at.

It's a great place to show what you are best at and to try new things, as well as learn new things.

I personally find it very beneficial and it has taught me the fundamentals of creating games in a time frame and so much more as well as fast tracking my confidence and ability by getting stuck in (nod)

Keep checking the competitions and activities forum to see what's happening now!

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?board=9.0

Keep an eye out for any rule changes from Stupot.

See you there ;)
