Quotejumping was trivial and got axed for now.
I've done a game where you could jump/leap its a bit of a nightmare at times, but fun.

Good luck Onker and don't take prisoners  (laugh)

Hi

when you want the player to change rooms just add

Example
Code: AGS
player.ChangeRoom(2, 91, 272);

player would be the character who is your main player ie cEgo.

In Brackets:
2 is room number you want player to go to (could use any room), 91 (x) is distance from left and 272 (y) is distance from top where you want the player to appear in next room.

Take things very slowly and start to read the manual / search these forums / ask questions and learn from there.

Aim for basics first.

Good luck

QuoteYep.  They're all mine.  Characters are 3D, and the background are sketches overlayed on photoshop paintings.

I see. Anyhow, good. I hope to play your game soon.

Hi.

Compile it in Movie maker and then convert to avi (converter) and set it to 640 x 480 which is the game resolution.

Have already done that but when playing the screen freezes. I did put it in the games folder.

Hi

Can someone assist me in how to convert normal avi videos so they are ogv?

Cheers for any help

Similar could be done with AGS.

I have never done it the way of Larry Laffer but I do implement a cave Labyrinth in 'Elf: And soon the darkness...' which is similar but not quite the same and only uses 2 backgrounds.

Of course 72 rooms should be much reduced though but could be used.

Some flipped backgrounds would add variety to the rooms look, naturally.

Creating exits would again be fairly easy to implement.

Once you have the maze mapped out (paper / computer) and the exits to each room decided then you would draw exit images to add to where the exits are.

Something along these lines I would say.... But there may well be other ways better suited. It's down to personal choice.

Of course scripting is another thing, but again should not be too difficult.

Good luck

What about if you created a new game. Added just one room with the player in that room and add just one thing when it opens. In afterfadein put:

Code: AGS
Display("Yes, it works!");

If that does not work then you indeed have a windows issue or a bad ags installation problem or confliction between ags and windows.

It would be a good idea to show us code for any of your rooms 'Load' so we can see what you have put.

Thank you Onker.

Yes, many hours, days, weeks and months of blood, sweat and tears have gone into this production to make sure it is bug free.

As I have mentioned, forget the chapter one demo, this is the real mcoy.

One it has been fully tested and confirmed a'ok I will release it. Not until then.

Of course if people can give / leave me some feedback, I will be able to use this for future games.

cheers

Maybe you should check each rooms 'Load'. Somethings should be in 'Afterfadein' rather than Load.

This has happened to me in the past where it was taking about 1 minute to load, and sometimes did not load at all.

Check that out and see what happens

I've just had one problem solved and now I want to know why:

In my game folders (game and compiled) i have agssave's listed. I can't recall having had them their before in the past.

Game settings perhaps?

I can't seem to find a search for this scenario.

Edit: It appears I did not put folder name for saved games

I can't believe I did what I did  :-[

thank you so much Crimson
