QuoteOh, I was wondering... is the book written by this man called, perchance, "The Philosophy of Time Travel"?

Written by a certain R. Sparrow?

I was reading your start post again, and suddenly it felt very reminiscent of Donnie Darko... book about the subject, disturbed teenager finding out what it's about, etc.
I think I can saftly say that I have no idea what you are talking about :) I'll look up this Donnie Darko in a minute and see what it's all about. Like I said previously, this game is non inspired by anything but my own thoughts/dreams. So any simularities to movies and books are coinsidental. I'm one of the "low educated" AGSers...lol. I've only read a few books in my time ;)

--EDIT--
I looked up that Donnie Darko and it seems intersting, although I didn't get it one bit ;)

FOR THE STAFF
I created an IRC channel for LE. I'll be on for an hour or so if any of you are online and happen to notice this...

PM me for the password.

QuoteAbout the TNC sequel, it will be very hard, cause TNC didn't have a developed story, and I'd have to come up with an idea for the sequel.
Well, you could hand the series over to me :P

I'm only kidding!
Whatever you must do, I'd love to see a follow up.

Yeah, that would work. Or something else you could do, which is kind of funky, but you could release the first part, and then release the second and third as one?

Nah, go with you're new idea ;)

QuoteBut I can´t see where this thread can takes us to... I think I can say, with no danger to fail, that it is quite stupid.
Heh, maybe you posted too early?

Eh? I thought it was called Plane Numbered 13? Now it's called An Interactive Comics?

Gilb:

It all really depends on you. What you really feel like doing is up to you. If you'd rather it be a full game, then release it as a full game. But like you said, if it kind of stands on it's own with a cliffhanger ending, then by all means, release it. It'll definately give you some modivation if people love it, which they will. Also, it depends on if the other parts will be "stand-alone" also...

I wouldn't release it if the other parts aren't stand alone parts. If the other parts of the game can stand by themselves and be distributed, then release the game in parts. It works excellent with Book of Spells.

Please give a description of your game. What you've given us doesn't mean crap until we know what the game is about ;)

QuoteJust out of curiosity, why do you like the tv-modes?
:P
When I was a kid I played NES all the time, and I mean all the time. That's all I did. Forget going outside and playing, I stayed in a played Nintendo (which is probably why I'm so fucked up today...but that's a whole different thread that I'll probably write one of these nights I get hammered again :P ). When I play a ROM, it's not the same. It'll never be the same anyway, I'm not a kid anymore and I just don't have a working NES with every single game. So the closest thing to it is emulators with TVmode or scanlines with a fast blur type option. I remember when I first download GENS and popped in my Willy Beamish CD that I haven't played in AGES. I could never beat the damned thing because my SegaCD died like a year after I got it...
Anyway, I put the scanlines on, turned on fast blur... holy shit. It made me fell like a kid again. It weirdly brought back a shit-load of memories. Same as playing NES roms.

That's why.

QuoteYuck. And miss out on all the pixely goodness?
I can't complete my nostalgic ways without it looking as close to a tv as possible. Pixely goodness is for adventure games ;) One of these days I"m going to buy one of those video cards with a TVout thingermadoodily.

QuoteSnake, if you're talking about Tv-scanline emulation, that's in almost every Nes emulator I've used. I know it's in NNNesterJ & probably in FCEUltra(though I don't recommend it, it's slow).
I've tried quite a few and those that I tried don't have any blurring options. Yes, most have scanlines, but scanlines are junk without blurring. The best TVmodes I've seen are for GENS, MEKA and HANDY. With GENS you must select a scanline option, like 50% then select fast blur. MEKA and HANDY have a TVmode option and they rule (they don't blur, but they still rule). GENS comes the closest I've seen to a real TV.

--EDIT--
Funny you should mention NNNesterJ, I just downloaded it like a half hour ago.

Heh, King's Quest 1 is also for the Sega Master System. I got the ROM if anyone wants it.

PS
Would anyone happen to know of an NES emulator with TVmode or at least scnalines with blurring? I'll be cornswabbled if I can find one.

Byzantine is currently on standstill unfortunatly. I haven't had contact with Pessi for ages  :-\

*coughyoushouldhavewentwithyouroriginalgraphicscough*

Heh, it would have been just as much as a hit as it is already I believe :) Although, yes, Pessi's graphics do slap cat's ass and add to the atmosphere tramendously, I myself would have been equaly as happy  ;D

AWESOME.

I haven't finished it yet since I haven't had much time. But you did a fantastic job with this game. There's great scripting in it, the story is fun and the atmosphere keeps you going...I only stopped because it was like 3 in the morning and I fell asleep...lol.

GREAT JOB!

Now make a follow-up to "The NExt Curse"...
The character-style in that game rocked arse.

Man, my heart sunk when I heard that on the radio. Every night I watch "Nick@Nite" and I never miss a show of "Three's Company". That's the best damned sitcom ever. John Ridder was funny as all hell. He was a great actor and comedian. I'll miss that guy :(

QuoteWe will now never get the joy of seeing his balls pop out of his boxers on a TV show ever again.
lol. Remember the episode where Jack goes to Janet's dance class, and his leg slips down through the bar?...lol...you can't miss 'em...fucking guy looked like he was hung like a horse....

hardy har har har!!1 Hoo hoo hoo heee!

hardily hoodily doo at you Petteroo ;)

I thought of that too... I agree that detective games give a lot more to the adventure (having to find clues, take notes and investgating)...I guess I'm just sick of seeing so many :)

ANYWAY....
Let's not get this topic off topic...back to the game:

Mr. Undead: You don't have any explaination about the game in your post whatsoever...please tell us about the game, give screenshots...or if you need to (which is HIGHLY recommended) read the rules ;)

--Snake
#1799
Yes, I wish everybody would read the rules thread before posting. It gives some very good insight on what the hell you're supposed to be doing with this forum :P

--EDIT--
QuoteWhat is it with pirates?
I find nothing wrong with pirate adventures, but I think there are too much detective adventures. everytime I think some game is gonna be cool I read tghe post and read, "...you're a private I who's...". I'm not really big on detective games. The only ones that really appealed to me with AGS are PB: Dark Ages, Jake Dibble and Underwater Adventures.
I don't know, that's only my opinion, but I'm just sick of seeing so many games where you're a detective.
