Since this thread is about recruting team members and not about the game, I'm moving it to the General Forum to help you with recruting members.

If you want to re-post your game promotion, please make sure that you've put information about the game itself, possible screenshots, possible release dates and title the subject your game's name.

Please visit and read the rules for the GiP forum (Games in Production) before re-posting about this monkey game ;)

Just knowing that it'll have monkeys in it, it's gonna be good!

So good luck with finding people to help and good luck furthermore with the game process  :D

I was wondering, "Why the hell hasn't anyone replied to this yet?"
and I went to the downloads page...

YIKES!

Wally Weasel - 6.25 MB
Haunted House - 32.2 MB!!?!?!?!2

What the hell, man?  ;D Are they so big because of MP3 music? If so, you coould make a seperate download for the music...

*hint hint*

I'd love to play that haunted house one!

Cool, a Matrix Adventure Game... I bet it'll be a lot better than that damned game for PS2 ;) Personally, I thought it looked stupid.

ROCK ON!!

I love the second one with the alien. I also like the first one, what I like best is the building, nice shading, it's cool.

My suggestion for the game. From what I've read, it's definately a SQUiNKY game, it's gonna' have the humor and all the wierd predicaments that you'd expect. So, looking back at your first was it Sancho? Yes, I think it was.. anyway, if you did the whole game in that cartoony/futuristic/ruinish pirates world that you created in that pic, than it would fit the game better. (pic shown below)

So if you did the whole game in this style, I really think it would fit the game's atmosphere a lot better

--EDIT--
I LOVE that building in the back!
Oh, and I replied to your thread a while back, don't know if you saw it or not...regarding that woman one you did I think it was...

Vel - What I'm doing is, for every minor thing that I get finished with the Story Map before any major events (which is just a few branching points away), I'll start scripting and doing AGS stuff. After I get that finished up to the point where the story map ends off, then I'll start work on the story map again, do the major points, script, story map, script, story map, script...see?

Rincewind - It all depends on if you'd really like to join the project. It's not a matter of just "helping out with the story", it's joining the team and helping out all together and working as a TEAM...but not a disorganized team. All basically we'd be doing is tossing e-mails around, throwing ideas/suggestions at eachother and when the project gets farther along, beta's will be distributed. I'll be doing all the art and scripting, so you guys don't worry about that. Squinky is also helping with the scripting.
I'd like to have a special beta testing team besides us though, so they can pick out all the crap we miss :)

Vel, I was wondering if you'd be interested since you said you'd help out before? Or what....?

Team Status:
Snake  - Lead Programmer - Artist - Story/Plot Manager (what the hell do you call that?)
Squinky - 2nd Lead Programmer - Story/Plot Manager
Marcu Krupa (Loominous) - Musician

The two basic things that I need help with are:
*The over-all story thoughout the whole series (was originally going to be 1 big game, but I've decided to chop it into 3)...
*Events during the game - like mini games, mini missions, shit Seth gets into...

How many colors are you using? 256? You mentioned something about Manannan's house being in hi-color, I suggest making the WHOLE game 256 in order to keep concistancy in graphics. It would be goofy to experience the whole game like shown in that screenie, but then get to Manannan's house and it's 3D rendered, lol, or a scanned pic  ;D

Yes, I agree with Jason, WOW!

That screen kicks all ass! I love that art! I'm jellionious! Holy crap, man... even the story sounds cool :) I can't wait, hopefully you finish this. I like the whole idea that he's trying to obtain wizardhood. I like that wizard stuff. Will it have goblins and magic spells?

GREAT JOB anyway, when can we see more screens? :)

Keep it up, Geoff

Latest news:
*The Story Map for the beginning is just a pinch away from being completed. Then I can start again on the physical AGS stuff.

*The new up in USER CURSOR MODES (from 10 to 20) allows more well needed custom cursors for me to use! W00H00!

*Squinky joined the project

*Openings are still available for new members that'll help with the story... ;)

Quoteeventhough it can get boring or discouraging at times making you want to quit and start a new project...*cough*

Heh, I was also making reference to myself... I've got like 5 game projects that I've started but not finished...but not abandoned my any means! They will be finished. Monkey Wrench and Leitor's Edge will definately be finished first.

Anyway, whenever you feel like working on your game, do it! Sometimes its rare to get that feeling of pure AGSWORKNESS...

But you can't help but think about it all the time though, like me. I'm always thinking about one of my games.

Anyway...
GET GOING!!1

Quote* Increased max cursors to 20 (though the new ones will only activate the Any Click event at present).
YI.....PAAAAAAAAAY!!1

Quote* Sprite manager now remembers which folder you were in before when selecting new item graphics.
Sweet! No more annoying switching of folders every time ;)

GREAT work, CJ!

Keep it up!

QuoteElectronic Farts is MINE!
Yes, Helm, I remember the first time I saw that logo, I loved it :)

My company name Snake Pit Entertainment revolves around my name, Snake, and my ficticious band's name, Snake Pit with just the added goodness of Entertainment.

If I was ever to join forces permanently with somebody one of these days, or even just for certain projects *coughcoughsquinkycoughcoughgag*, I'd love to name it, Old Man on the Ground Entertainment...heh, I've even got a cool logo and everything...

Goos job! I like the walking animation for Tom.

2 things to improve apon I think (if you don't mind ;) )

1. I think you might want to make the background's art style consistant. Either using all MS Paint or scanned drawings :) Personally I like the Paint ones better...reminds me of NES games ;)

2. The dialoges between Tom and the creator are a bit long, Funny, but a bit too long I think...

My characters' names most of the time just come to me out of nowhere and to me, they are perfect.

Seth Reece (The Legend of Leitor's Edge): His name was first planned to be Billy, but when I was thinking about the whole jumping over the edge thing, Seth Reece just popped up. And Reece should probably be spelled, Rees, but I don't give a damn ;)

Hirum (Monkey Wrench): Is this name German? I can't remember... but anyway, when I was just a little kid, my older brothers would call me that from time to time...I always thought it was a humorous name, so I just named that monkey boy I made up, Hirum.

Allie O' Leary (Monkey Wrench): Named after Ali Landry, but I just spelled it different ;) Also changed Landry into O' Leary. Wouldn't O' Leary be Irish?

Dr. Lumpkin Glumpkin (Monkey Wrench): Heh, I just thought it was funny. I also thought I made it up before my friend pointed out some kid that had the same last name...lol

Eric Peters (Evil Night): Eric is the name of one of my brothers. Peters just was a random name I came up with. The original name for him, Scott, is the name of one of my cousins.

Micheal Peters (Evil Night): (Eric's younger brother). Micheal is the name of my oldest brother.

Marty Shore (The Life of Marty Shore): I always liked that name and was first inspired by Back to the Future and Shore just seemed to fit very well with it.

Dexter Livingston (The End): I have know idea where Livingston came from, but I've always liked the name Dexter for some weird reason.
