When do I know I've done everything? It's kind of confusing (in my opinion), but the animation and the graphics are good :)

QuoteIt's because they're obviously his siblings/children.

I bet Macaulay Culkin could get laid alot more if people knew he was of legal age.

Let's hope not.

General Discussion / Re:State of the Boards

The people here are great, in my eyes. Newbies/oldbies, whoeverthehell...unless you're an ass on perpose.
Of course people change and people fade away, it sucks, but yes, we must get over it. There's lots of people we're all going to miss, but we can still keep in touch can't we? ...if their not dead, anyway.
Some day Chris is going to stop updating AGS, and maybe make a final version, unless he gives it to someone else to update.
Where's Chris gonna' go? Probably not far, I'm sure he'd poke his head in 'n out of these forums from time to time.
It's gonna happen anyway, we just need to except it.

We're supposed to be here because we love Adventure Games, and we want to make them ourselves (not because the forums are "going downhill"). AGS gives us the power to do so. I've been here since 2001 and I've promised everyone here like 2,037 games...and have I released anything? Hell no, the forums are damn addicting. It's everyones fault, I think, that we don't get anything done here ;) We like eachother too much...or are just plain damned lazy (like me).

Just think of all the games, different genres, puzzles and such. It's kind of hard to be totally original. I think almost every original idea out there has been done, now there's just many offspring of the same storylines, plots and especially puzzles.

Cool, thanks, Chris :)

Heh, yeah, that 2007 thing was a joke ;)
Thanks for the good words, though!
The cartoony game, you mean Monkey Wrench? Other than that, I don't know how well animated it's gonna be ;) If you mean Ignac 2, that's Igor's game...and yes, it's VERY well animated ;)

QuoteSo the whole things like 45 minutes long? That rocks, especially the little clock dealy. And again, your art is inspiring...
Thanks, Squinkman. Actually the game might be a little longer, I might slow down the clock just a bit...if I can ;) Did you check the Critics lounge? I replied to your thread there...

QuoteI think this is going to be the best AGS game ever! Atleast it's going to be one of the best AGS games ever...
Shit, don't jinx it...hopefully it'll be a fun game :)

Quotei dont like the idea of moving the character with the keyboard. Otherwise, it's great!
That might change....I was thinking before the pointer arrow could aloso make him walk. Personally I like the idea :) But who knows, things may change between now and 2007.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've updated, so here it is.

[UPDATE]
I really haven't made that much progress lately AGS-wise...you know, the physical stuff. Except I got the GUI and interface pretty much wrapped up.
I've figured before I start getting into the physical work, I need to finish the story map, at least where there are major branches that take place (ie; Seth being hauled off to jail or breaking into his "mothers" house). I'm going to treat them as ACTS as I go along and I'll program as I finish them individually. It's pretty cool, there are now 8 branching points after Seth reaches home. About 4 aren't totally completed, but will be soon.

[Interface]
A white arrow is used as the pointer and it changes red when over an exit. Right clicking will change it to a magnifying glass which will of course be used to examine items/objects in the location. The player will move Seth around in the scene using the arrow keys. Gameplay starts at 8:15pm and the player has until X:XXpm to complete the game.
The main gui has the following options (some might be added later if needed):
Interact/Take
Climb Up/Down
Open/Close
Speak to
Inventory
Pause Game
Options
About
Cancel

During the course of the game, Seth (you) will be making choices (like a CYOA book) that may alter future events, while picking up items and solving puzzles to reach your destination.

[New Musician]
The musician for Leitor's Edge will be Marcus Krupa (musician for Ignac 2). He is very talented and his music has inspired me to use mp3 music instead of MIDI. It makes the atmosphere 200% more involving. The downside though is file size. But that'll be a seperate download anyway.

[Recruting Leitor's Edge Story Crew?]
Be on the look out for me asking you to join the project. I may need help in the future with organizing events and fixing plot/storyline holes. I think at one point I'll hold some sort of contest. I'll have you write me some ideas and what you think would happen in this story, and whos story fits best with my ideas, I will pick to join. Maybe I'll even recrute more than one, not sure yet.

[Screenshot For The Hell of It]
It's the original screen I showed above, but I completed the final touches. You might want to save it to your computer and zoom in a bit, it's a little dark and hard to see on the forums.

Click the triangle on the left to bring up the Main GUI. The little watch icon on the right constantly displays what time it is.

Here's a pic of Seth's normal view.

Thank you for reading,

Hello to you all.

I was wondering, Chris, if you'd be able to up the user modes a bit? I know there are nine, but I have several other graphics I'd like to use, but have their own mode. Would this be possible? I know it's a minor thing, but it would be very useful for various cursor changes :)

Could you upload a readme with it and explain exactly what we're supposed to be doing and how? :)

General Discussion / Re:metallica - st. anger
Wed 11/06/2003 05:43:17
Yeah, I wasn't too impressed either with St. Anger. Heh, and to think how much they hyped it up to be there best album yet.

I tried giving it a chance twice, and I still don't really like it that much. They've said that they are going back to their roots, but to me it really doesn't sound like their old stuff...there was no kick-ass guitar and totally kick-ass solo, it stunk.

Any of you listen to Eddy Trunk? Heard of him on the radio?
Anyway, he plays a lot of old metal and last weekend he played St. Anger for the first time. Before he expressed his views on it, he wanted to hear what the listeners thought, so he took calls. I guess the operators took 20 calls and Eddy asked what the results were. Out of the twenty callers, none of them liked it. One of the callers was even an album producer and he hated it, he thought it shouldn't even had been recorded, lol.

In any case, I don't hate the song, I just don't like it. Who knows, it might grow on me after a long time, but I doubt it :)
