Man, this thread is obviously well needed. Hope people read this one... *coughunliketherulesthreadcough* (lol)
Recommened File Type:
PNG
JPG
GIF
Do not try and show us BMP's! They are too big! It takes forever to view them...
The Coding:
1. Simply do this (without spacing):
[ url ]http://www.yoursitegoeshere.com[ /url ]
...that will make a link. Whatever is inbetween [ URL ] and [ /URL ] will be shown.
2. Or if you want a link name and not show all the link junk (like "Download Here"), do this:
[ url=http://blarblar ]Download Here[ /url ]
Easy.
The Lazy-man Way to Upload Pics:
Go here to read Neole's sweet AGS contribution and quickly upload your pics!
*which reminds me to stop using it so much...
The TXT Trick:
The other way is to link from your site. But if it doesn't allow what they call "hot linking", like geocities, I've learned a cool trick for them tight-asses.
What I do is when I upload a PNG or JPG image into my filemanager, I rename it to TXT. That way they can be shown here. My avatar is a good example. Check it's properties.
(NOTE: Some browsers might open them as TXT files instead of images)
The Anonymizer Way:
There is a cool thing called Anonymizer that you can also use for your site that doesn't allow hotlinking. Just simply put http://invis.free.anonymizer.com before the images address. Most people use this trick.
Hope this helps you.
