AGS Games in Production / Text Box Crap

Here we go, SQUiNKY:

It's very basic, but I think it fits well with the Pirate Fry theme...

NoTeS:
For the text color, I'm picturing either one of these; Yellow, Light Blue, Light Green, Black or White...whichever one you choose to go with is up to you anyway.
For the background color, all you have to do is match it up. I'd say a dark blue is in order (but lighter than the box's shadow) ;)
Um, you might find yourself testing it and see a gap somewhere or it is totally off...just reimport the screwed-up ones and try it again :)

Ah...I guess that's it for me, 'aint it? I got you the GUIs, the cursors, and the text box...now what? I'll tell you what, FiNiSH THe GaMe!!1

-btw, I liked your ideas for MW, I'll back to you soon...

Don't worry poo-poo head ...
(What the hell am I saying?)

In regards to what Squinky said, if we actually get right and do everything the way we should (and imagine) this game will (hopefully) kick ass.
We plan on doing our best...
...or close to it...
...damn I'm cold...
...and tierd...
...and love sick...

Ah..
*looks to the left, then to the right...*
*sneaks out back door*

--EDIT--
I just added a "The game will sport:" section...

Squinkermierweener, here's the Options GUI:

(save this one...or which ever one will work)
And here's a close-up of it:

I was thinking that you can put the sliders over to the right in that open space for Music, SFX, maybe game speed...blar blar...
1 suggestion:
There should also be a shortcut key to this GUI, like spacebar  or something...or at least a shortcut to the Inventory...

If you need or want anything changed, it'll be easy to fix since I made 2 versions (one without buttons)...

--EDIT--
I'm now starting on the custom text boxes...unless you prefer that stupid-looking white box ;)

It'll basically be the same outline as the blue bar that surrounds the GUI's above...or whatever you'd prefer.

--EDIT2--
Oh, hey, I know you probably already know, but just to make sure....
This GUI fills the screen, it'll go over the background, so make sure you turn the other GUI is off when this one is turned on...

Gonzo, don't worry, I plan for a total pornographic version of this game after it's release.

QuoteNow, thats a way to handle a games in production hype-site...
Since I am a moderator, I'm trying to set an example of what it could look like, but what the others have done (and done it right) looks fine aswell.
...now what do you think of the game, FOOL!?

Quote...I'll download the music too to get the full preview effect...
Listen to my originals too, and see what an awesome job Trap did with them (mine sucked). I'm freaking grateful for him even wanting to be a part of this project, so far his shit rocks ;)

Quote...I'm waiting to see a demo...
The release date for the DEMO is this summer...mid summer maybe, but definately this summer. It'll be a fully playable and complete demo.

GoNZo: Thanks. Yeah, the whole Glumpkin thing has been bugging me, so I'm just as happy as you are to finally see what he looks like ;) The picture show's almost just how I imagined. I first was going to have him be old and frail, but I've decided to go with the "he's old, but he's full of piss and vinegar" idea.

Yes, Allie knows she's hot goddamnet, she likes them shorts ;) (she also likes it when Hirum gives it to her rough.....har har j/k)

hardily hoo

Main Characters:

Hirum (Hi.rum):
Hirum is an orphan who unfortunately (or is it so unfortunate?) got transformed into a monkey as part of an evil scheme. He's a mischiefous 13-year old who loves adventure. He somehow managed to escape the clutches of Dr. Glumpkin and found Allie. Now his goal is to return to the Doc's secret laboratory and transform himself and the other orphans back to normal...hopefully he can pull it off with Allie's help.
Allie O' Leary:
Coincidently, Allie loves things that are potentially dangerous, which drives her to want to help Hirum even more.
Dr. Lumpkin Glumpkin:
Here we are, just another evil scientist who wants to take over the world. He's got this kooky plan to use evil monkey slaves to do his dirty work, but he must start small and gradually make his way up, so he's going to start his rein in Bloomerdale (Allie's home town) and Oaksdale (Hirum's home town).

2.26.03 - First promotion of MW and finaly a final look for Dr. Glumpkin.
3.2.03 - Added "This game will sport:" section on this promotion...
3.11.03 - I've recieved Squinky's frogger-type mini game, and with a few more features, it'll be perfect for a specific event that takes place early in the game. Also, more background designs are being started (finally).
3.23.03 - Updates so far: Custom GUIs, cursors, interface, up & down walking views, text box.
Erm, Squinky and I aren't going to use the frogger idea after all, don't know what we'll do with it as of yet. But for the "races" (that "specific event") Squinky is still going to help with a mini game type of shmeal...more race-like.
3.24.03 - All I have to do before the DEMO is officially in production, is finish the options menu. I'll be able to finish that today. NO PROBO MOJUMBO!!1
3.25.03 - DEMO oFFiCiaLLY started. I got another cool idea for something today that'll be pretty cool that wasn't in the plans before. So hopefully it'll work right when I program myself to death.

QuoteThe game's purpose is not to get you stuck at some place, but to try many different possible things, and with some random events to have have quite big replayability...
Cool. This is what one of my other games, The Life of Marty Shore, will be like. An almost do anything type of thing. Maybe I'll look you up when I work on it again ;)

If done right, yes ;)

The worst impression of zombies (in movies) you can get are the ones in Night of the Living Dead (the black & white original). They were just ordinary people walking around with a gimp in there leg and dragging their feet being slow and unscary as all hell.

The best impression you can get is from The Return of the Living Dead. That movie stood my hair on end more than once.
Here's an awesome review of the movie.... It's long, but it's damn good reading. I suggest you read it ;D
If you don't want to read and just want to see what some zombies from it looked like, scroll down and go to page 2, it shows a good amount of screenshots from the film (ignore the skeleton one..it's the only one that sucks).

Ben, you actually have Evil Night on your list? lol

These are the games I'm waiting for (that I can remember at this time):

1. Pirate Fry 2: The Hand of Anturus
2. Byzantine
3. Revenants
4. Suspico

Not in any order
Monkey Wrench (by Squinky and I)
Evil Night (me)
The Enchanted Lake
RON: Time Out
Indiana Jones and the Fountain of Youth
Blurred Line
Jake Dibble
Ace Quest 2

Right here...

Some are kinda lame, but I like the graphics. My favorite is the Faith Hill zombie.

Sluggo, The Enchanted Lake has always been on my list :)

I think Pirate Fry 2 is at the top of my list, then maybe Eric's RON game and definately Monkey Wrench.
