Right on, Proggy!

It is the biggest childhood nostalgia for me as well.

When it comes to nostalgia, here are my favorite tunes from the game (there are 6 because I couldn't choose):

-as copied straight from the Sega CD game disc-
1. Day 1 theme (the first song you hear when you get home and are roaming around the house)

2. Upstairs theme for Day 1

3. Outside the Golden Bowl (bar)

4. Willy's tree fort

5. Payphone (great scene where you could use the phone and dial all the numbers written on the walls if you want) This song is currently the ringtone for my phone ;)

6. Detention/School hallway

I also can't forget to link to the title theme... FIRE THOSE GUITARS!

Nobody has mentioned it yet, so I hope this isn't blasphemy, but I've always been partial to the entire soundtrack to The Adventures of Willy Beamish.
The music to that game was perfect for it and added so much to the atmosphere. I can't say anything more than it being absolutely perfect. The feeling of being 12 years old and it being summer time, all the exploration, adventure and misadventure, the music couldn't possibly be any more fitting.
I've never played the PC CD-ROM version of the game so I don't know if it was SEGA CD exclusive or not, but the theme song on the SEGA CD was INCREDIBLE. I love it all.

I hope I am not the only one that appreciates the music in this game to it's fullest. Every scene's music was perfect for that scene.
This game wouldn't be as much of an inspiration to me without the music.

The best music in an adventure game, ever.

It may be one of those windows that slide open and slide shut when not in use. Just a thought :D

This looks awesome, by the way!

I seem to remember there already being a Home Alone game...maybe it was for one of the consoles? If I'm remembering right, it was a sort of 2D platformer thing whereyou had some time to set up all the traps. then the enemies would come rushing in.
I remember that one for Game Boy, but I only played it for a few minutes. It was confusing if I remember right. Actually, I think it may have been Home Alone 2...

Home Alone 1

What a coincidence, Secret Fawful, my 4 year old is currently obsessed with that movie.

Home Alone of course, in good old Sierra spirit (Infocom text adventures work too), where there are numerous ways to kill the protagonist (and the bad guys as well).
I saw that movie a hundred times as a kid and loved it - the sequels were horrible - the 3rd was an abomination). I think it would make a great adventure game as well, whether it's Sierra style or Lucas Arts (although I think Lucas Arts would be better suited). Just as long as it wasn't done in the vain of Night Trap - that's what I keep imagining it ending up as, unfortunately.

The following is not a movie, but a commercial. It'll seem a little silly, but I always thought that the WORLD depicted in these commercials would make a great setting for an adventure game:

I bring to you, the VESIcare commercials!

I can't find the most recent commercials that show the surrounding city and building structures more, but minus having to take a piss every five minutes, I think the world within these commercials would create a great setting for an adventure game.

How much movement is with the mouse? Do you fly the planes with the mouse by clicking? Or is it with the arrow keys?

If you move with the mouse I would say use right click for firing and you could even shortcut dropping bombs with the wheel (for those that have it).

If you control using the arrows, than all control needs to be from the keyboard. It's poor design to make the player use the mouse to click on a button in a GUI to shoot :P

A firm NO to a GUI for shooting.

I am half-assed. But that's neither here nor there.

Anyway, a screenshot would help make me make my decision.

Make me make my?!7?!

Stop and wonder how our trousers magically re-appeared when we spoke into the walkie-talkie...
HAHAHAHAHHA!!! Lucky for this bug we have our trousers back!

(will the final version have this fixed?)

I didn't notice either (been busy), but I have to agree with Atelier. Even when there's nothing going on at the forums due to timezones and people sleeping/working, I still find myself coming here all through the day to check. The AGS forums are truly an addiction.

Well it can cause Vitamin D deficiency and that is fatal in the long run.  ;)
And spontaneous erections - you know, like the ones you'd get out of nowhere whilst riding the school bus as a child?

Well, maybe we should now ask the guy what this is all about and how we can get away from here?
Yes, this is a good time to ask what the hell is going on.

You will find in the game's folder a file called "AGSsave001" (or similar) upload it and then PM it to him.

Next time please PM Radiant ;)

Ponch, you are damn near correct with that guess! Close enough where I think he should give it to you anyway.

I believe it is from the OBSCURE version of that collection, Arjon's OBSCURE Home Movies Volume 2.

Before going back down the stairs, make sure to try using the walkie-talkie to see if someone is on the other end. If it doesn't work, check the batteries. If there are batteries, make sure you check the polarity before deciding they are dead (you never know ;)). AND KEEP THE BATTERIES JUST IN CASE - THEY COULD COME IN HANDY LATER!

PEE ESS
To quote Dualnames; BEST THREAD EVAAAAARRREEEERRRREREREREEERRRE!!!!1!111!!!11!!

This reminds me of something similar my friend and I used to do back in school. He and I would draw a scene that we would already know the solution to. We would have to figure out what to do. We would also have the option to "call" the hint line when needed (only 3 times). One scene that comes to mind is a kid on a bike being stopped by two bullies. Very fun.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH Veryweirdguy! I hope to see more of these in the future.
(how the FUCK did I miss this??)
