Quote from: NoaI was at a band and someone suggested doing this song. I didn't know it at the time but it's very nice. dono why we didn't end up doing it so I wouldn't mind doing it this time:)
THANK YOU! A friend of mine turned me on to her quite a few years back. She's got a great voice. I can certainly hear you doing this song.

I can't remember who it was on IRC last night, Yarcanox maybe... but thought it was a country song. It's got a small "aroma" of country only because of the strings and slide, but other than that, it's more blues.

I figured we could do something nice with this song. If not this time, then maybe another time.

I'm just glad you liked it ;D

I wouldn't mind doing Cream. But it looks like we'll end up doing The Who... :P Not that I hate the song or anything, just not a fan of them.

Sha'...
...lom?
;D
It is a reference to the movie "Waynes World" when Haggis said, "Stairway denied!"

Here are my picks for the next song that I think we may be able to do something with:

Life By The Drop - by Stevie Ray Vaughan

Angel From Montgomery - by Susan Tedeschi (originally by John Prine and later by Bonnie Raitt)
I'm sorry, but you have to download the song (I recorded it off Rapsody). The only one I can find on YouTube is a live version by her... and you've GOT to hear the studio version first (I love this song).
Copy the link and paste it into the address bar to download...

Ride On - by AC/DC (you didn't think I would leave them out, did you?)

Reach for the Sky - by Firehouse

And if we ever decide to do an instrumental, I suggest:
Mr. Scary - by Dokken

or... (OF COUSE!)
THE ADVENTURES OF WILLY BEAMISH THEME SONG!!1!
You have to admit that this song kicks fucking ass.

I hope that is enough suggestions.

Maybe one day we can try making our own song?

(I'm finally getting around to doing it, sorry I didn't post sooner)

Hello everyone,

I was unable to join the ceremony (again), so I want to thank all of you that voted for Matt to the Future for best demo.

I was very excited to win! Matt was excited as well! I appreciate the votes very much - it makes me very happy!

Here's a little something that I whipped up for all the voters:

I love the innocent and serious game description. One would almost forget that the game is about beating your wife!!!!??????????????!!!!!!!!
Before clicking on the thread, I actually thought that it might be about a man trying to overcome his anger and violent compulsions. I was surprised to find that the game IS about beating your wife.

It could be far worse than beating your wife, though. At least your goal isn't to have sex with more children than your pedophile pals.

I'll give this game a shot at one point in the future if I remember.

PS
Scavenger, I LOVED your point of view on the game. If that's indeed how it was designed... genius.

No one but Noa and I have posted ???

Dan, have you tried out Voice Chatter yet? I'm looking at the site right now and I'm a little confused as to how it works. It seems it is a bit like IRC in a way? Has anyone else tried it?

So before I download and set it up, I think one of us have to set up a server or some shit... sorry, I know nothing about this stuff.

Also, What time is it for me again, 12pm?

Quote@snake - lay off your middle finger for a while :)

QuoteSnake in Smash Bros.

I'd like to see PIRATE FRY and CHARLIE FOXTROT in an AGS-themed fighter!

So what's up for tomorrow?

I've practiced the first solo again and again to the best of my abilities (which isn't much to shake a stick at), broken my high-E string, changed my strings, my fingertips are sore and I've got a blister started on my middle finger.

What is required for tomorrow besides having practiced your part and having extremely sore fingies?

QuoteYou play as Rufus a newly defrosted caveman who...
No need to go any further!

I like the look of it. It sounds like it'll be a fun little game.

I also like the fact that it is inspired by a comic your father used to draw :D

Once again, I'm gonna miss the awards. Woo hoo. Jolly. Great. Good for me. What the fuck.

QuoteThis kit all up retail was $7000, but because of the Billy Hyde music store sale on Sat I was able to get it for $3500.
No shit! That's awesome, man :D My brother would LOVE to have that drum kit!

Dan, I believe I will take the first solo... the second one is a little too much for me ;)

I could, of course improvise if need be, but, it'll sound like ass.

\\--EDIT--//
This is NOT acoustic, right?

QuoteAlso, from the poll, I gather we can have guests who just LISTEN to the meeting? Shall I publicly announce it?
Oh god... you're making this harder for the socially impaired (me).

I have to admit I was excited to have it at 10am and now a little bummed that it is now 3pm. In a whole though, it is better for everyone else... especially Ultra Magnus, heh. I think the time for him was 3AM ;)

Hopefully I can be there. Wife's gonna be home at that time. I can see it not working out very well - she'll want to play WiiFit, Sam (my daughter) will want to watch a movie and Amy (a.k.a. "Dennis the Dogs") will be constantly "tap dancing" all over the laminate floor because she's excited for Kristen to be home... gah.... all this being in the same room as the computer... maybe I can get her to bring Sam and Amy downstairs.

Like I just got done writing to Dan, hold the meeting whether I'm there or not. It is now looking more likely that I will be there since the in-laws are NOT coming (they were supposed to be here tomorrow around noon until Sunday).
#419
Sounds interesting! I will get back to you as soon as I play :)

As a rule of thumb, unless your game is going to exclusively be in a very limited palette with backgrounds of all similar colors, it's best to create your sprites with a neutral background color. Most graphics programs start with backgrounds set to all-white or have the photoshop-style "Checkerboard" transparent textures. I find that a gray with hints of blue/red (Sort of a lavender color) can cover most natural background colors, as well as prep the sprites for indoor environments as well.

The issue is basically that if you're creating a sprite on a white background, it tends to trick your eye into thinking that the colors are darker than they actually are. Neutral backgrounds help to alleviate this optical illusion.

If your art program can handle layers (Which it hopefully should), you can also create a number of colors of varying brightness to test your base colors on.

Just finding this now...

Very helpful tips, SpacePirateCaine! I will be sure to remember them  :D
