General Discussion / Re: Font Quest!!

Totally adding whathefont to my bookmarks. I hate making up something, then coming back months later to find I forgot what font it was.

God damned impressive.

The newest image makes me think of that old D+D game Hillsfar.

I stumbled upon something. Something awesome. Something that just makes me so happy in so many different ways....

There have been little internet snippits about a guy who dresses up as a superhero and fights crime. He's called Phoenix Jones, and he looks pretty silly.

But, here's the thing.  I found a site with a crap ton of these people.

Really, you should read this stuff :)

I think us oldbies should get together and combine all our old unfinished games into one, completely incoherent adventure that takes approximately 50 hours to complete with an arbitrary ending, perhaps one involving a zombie on a toilet farting for 5 minutes*.

*Does that remind anyone of a certain P3N1S award game?

But there would be so many versions of AGS to contend with :)

Snake

Y'know, I pretty much had that game finished....but I hate it now. I'm not afraid to strip all the good puzzles out of it and reuse them though :)

Looks pretty cool.

Heh, I miss games like this. You've gotta finish this, if not for yourself, then for me....some random internet dude.

Sadly, it seems lost to the internet. Maybe I'll luck out and find it again though....

Rickj

I missed you too man :)

Glad to see you are still poking around....

Now I've got that "Gates of Shambala" song playing in my head for some reason :)

I've considered a medium, but my current tablet has an active area of 9x12. The medium Wacom is 5x8.....Not sure if I would like that.

I've never tried a medium size before though, the first tablet I used was a Wacom graphire, with a really small work area. It really messed me up, if I got used to the tablet, my traditional art suffered, because the strokes were so different. Then I went to my big generic tablet, and loved it.

Oddly enough, I keep a pretty large work area (a L shaped corner, I have a big old school metal desk and an old metal drafting table) So I'm not worried about storing it.

I wonder though if medium would work...

The point?  Zombies would HAVE TO fart massively to prevent themselves from bloating and popping open at the seams.

Which  would totally ruin the the suspense when the hero is groping around in the dark :)

Snake!!!
Don't worry about getting back to my PM, it's all cool.

I haven't used AGS in forever, but looking around in the help file, perhaps you can set the GUI visibility off and have a background with that GUI on the images and make the walkable area there?

The help file shows a function:

gIconBar.Visible = false;

Just tack something like that in your script? I'm sure there are more specifics to be had in the help file :)

If they ate the poor guy all the way to the bone how will he arise? As a skeleton? (If that were true I reckon the same question we ask ourselves today would never have to be asked in regards to the skeleton)

Thats another problem I have with them zombies :)

They seem to always rip people to shreds....thus ruining their possible offspring.

I'm going with the vomit thing, it sounds suitably gross as well.

Oh, and I missed you too Darth :)

Howdy,

I haven't actually messed around in the editor for a good number of years. I've noticed some awesome new features since I last used it.

Getting to the point:

Is there some fancy new way to import sprites that are drawn on a transparent layer, with an anti-aliased line art, and not have those goofy artifacts that anti-aliasing used to cause in AGS? White pixels and what not.

I've seen some promising functions, so, hopefully I'm not wasting you time :)

It told me that it could not set the video mode. Weird huh?

General Discussion / Do Zombies need to crap?
Tue 18/01/2011 02:19:43
Man, I haven't posted here in so long, hopefully this isn't considered too goofy.

But I have been thinking about zombies lately, watched "The Walking Dead" a good bit. So that might be the origin of this question.

Regardless of the zombie type depicted in a piece of fiction (Walkers, Runners/ Living infected or Reanimated Dead) they always are just barely sentient and are driven by a desire to kill and eat the living.

They don't use tools, they are basically pretty stupid right?

I can't see them dropping their pants and crouching down, and if so, would they bother to pull them back up? Or do they crap themselves?

Should more realistic movies show zombies shuffling with pants around their legs?

For the price I plan to pay for an Intous4 large, I hope it rocks my world. But I doubt it :)

The problem I have (And I assume others as well) is that I have never seen a tablet in a store, never been able to fiddle with a display model. You gotta order them on the internet and just cross your fingers.

#119
I use a knock off brand tablet from Aiptek that is no longer supported :(

They don't even sell Nibs for it anymore, they just send me free ones about every six months when I beg.

It's done everything I've ever needed out of it though, so I cant see a problem with you getting a bamboo. I plan on buying a Large intous4 this spring if all goes well, I'm hoping it is worth the investment.
