For the price I plan to pay for an Intous4 large, I hope it rocks my world. But I doubt it :)

The problem I have (And I assume others as well) is that I have never seen a tablet in a store, never been able to fiddle with a display model. You gotta order them on the internet and just cross your fingers.

I use a knock off brand tablet from Aiptek that is no longer supported :(

They don't even sell Nibs for it anymore, they just send me free ones about every six months when I beg.

It's done everything I've ever needed out of it though, so I cant see a problem with you getting a bamboo. I plan on buying a Large intous4 this spring if all goes well, I'm hoping it is worth the investment.

Damn well produced stuff there.

I amazingly have most of it backed up, but have no desire to put that effort into it :)

Any interested in a stroll down memory lane can just do what I did.

Dosbox did it, minus the crappy Midis I used :)

Thanks muchly.

Hi all.

I'm trying to get Pirate Fry to play in Windows 7 (32 bit) to no avail. Fiddling with compatibility hasn't helped me much. I have a Dos version and a Win version, neither work.

I'm pretty sure I made it in v. 2.14 of AGS, around 2001.

Any ideas? Sorry if this is a common and annoying question, my search brought up nothing.

Thanks!

Hey dude!

I shifted away towards other interests, like we all do. I'm just making my yearly pass through here, thinking I might get back into it. But these visits of mine don't typically "stick". Although I would love it too :)

Thanks for clearing that up Chris, i was curious about how things were going. It's almost nostalgic reading a gengen post from you. To think you've brought endless hours of enjoyment to literally millions of peoples lives, asking nothing in return. You sir have truly contributed to this world.

Agreed.

Hey, some one I remember.

I've noticed my work (I install windows and do glasswork) has dropped this year pretty strongly. Still though, I keep busy enough, just people aren't building like they used too. Also, there are TONS of houses for sale.

OOH!
Nice rules! Nice rules which aren't all obscure and confusing and limited...

I kind of want to try and make something... or at least draw some sexy cavegirl sprites... Anyone need sexy cavegirl sprites?

Ummm....yes? I need them to get up, get on the floor, and walk the dinosaur....

I likes these rules muchly....maybe, just maybe this could be my learning game to the new ags...

Changing the Dpi makes it more pixelated doesn't it? Thats where I am unsure.

And I fear scaling the image more that 50%, but I may try it.

Thanks for the comments, I have a feeling there is no magic answer besides the ones you guys gave :)

Hi all,

I don't really know if this is the correct place for this, since I have nothing to critique, except for maybe my planned course of action.

I plan on creating a game where I use scanned images I produce for the backgrounds. I plan on drawing the image at twice the size to start, and then shrinking it down in the computer.

So, as things stand, the only good solution I find is to draw the image at 8x6 inches, shrink it down to 4x3 inches in the computer after I color it. Since 4x3 is equivalent to 800x600 at 200 dpi it works out okay.

I would prefer to do a smaller size, but can't come up with a solution that will allow me to draw the image at a workable size. The ratio changes on me when I adjust the dpi, but I am unsure if I should do so.

Any tips guys?

I stayed till the end, but I always do on video games, not so much movies.

I had a friend at work play it who doesn't play adventure games, and he really liked it, and commented on the the logo. Since playing your kickass game he has decided to work with me on a project as well.

I also had my wife play it, she really enjoyed it too.

I personally didn't use the hint file, the only place I got stuck was

Spoiler

On the hair part, I tried to cut the rope, but the knife kept bringing up the curtains instead. Took me a couple tries to hit the spot

Other than that the other puzzles were pretty easy, but they were exceptionally entertaining, and made sense. You rewarded the player well for overcoming the hurdles you set up.

I would love this if it became an episodic thing, although that spark of creativity you guys had with this may not endure.

Thanks again!

Hello again Squinky!

I don't know exactly how long you've been away, so my recommendations may be of no use. I would suggest any of the games made by the Ivy, Spooks, Nanobots, and Mashpotato, A Cure For the Common Cold, Beauties and the Beast, as well as Bernie's games including Cedric and the Revolution and Reactor 9.

Thanks I will check those out for sure. I've played Spooks and little girl in underland and I digged them thoroughly...Also, Damsel by Strange visitor and crew rocked my socks off! It's good to see quality stuff coming from AGS. Puts my old work to shame :)

But first I need to play Snake's Game, holy crap I never thought I would say that!

Huw I remember you man! :)

I feel like an Amish child, sent out in the cruel world, and now I hgave returned home to all you butter churning mofos....

Heh, I really wish I could play those games :( Such is the nature of AGS I guess.

Ryan

I agree, those contest were fun. They took a lot of work from Helm though, so I could see why it isn't around now. Thanks for the greets! And it's good to meet you.

Petteri

Dude, I love your stuff. You know PM's will be issued your way when I have something going. Thanks for being so awesome :)

Eggy

Although your hijinks in time travel have altered the current events dramatically, a little part of my brain still remembers you, as it it just can't let go :)

Miguel

Thanks dude! Thats really nice of you.

I don't think I will do anymore Pirate Fry games. He was fun, but I think I need to move on from that :)

As things stand right now, I have a fully scripted out Fry 4 game. I've started it over and over, and I think I just need to scrap it, maybe cannibalize it for a future project.

I also have Stan and Sancho nearly done, but at this point it is so dated, and it has an air of anti-productivity to it, I am just going to move on the the next project, and chalk it up to learning.

But it's good to be back, glad to see these forums are still as friendly as ever. I was a little intimidated to come back :)
