Messages - Squinky

I watched a japanese fan-sub a few months ago, but I thought it rocked. I too, wanted to see more characters, but could understand it would be hard to shove them all in the movie.

I loved Rude and that other guy (can't recall his name, oddly). Mostly, I was pretty impressed by it, although that may be because I compared it to that "other" final fantasy movie....

And I always thought cloud and Squall were left void of personality so it would be easier for the player to assume their roles mentally...

I use google and yahoo images, if you don't get any results you need to experiment with the search a little.

I also use iStockphotos.com

I think you have a good start, but it seems to me like he is kinda stepping in front of himself, I'm not sure, but maybe you could center the leg motion more under the torso.

I think it looks great!

I wonder how well it will do though, getting a community going like it seems you are set up for. I like the idea, a community just for 2d games and just for serious devolopment of those games, but what would bring people there?

Oh, and I never knew you could sprite so well, good job.

everyone here is so fucking dumb.

A noob posts a fake picture, everyone believes the fucking dumb ass.
Then everyone starts posting pictures about some game that kid used to put my sprite on.
this is just so lame. Doesnt anyone here has a bit of brain?

You aren't good at lying.

Google Contra the alien wars, and on the third page you will see a screenshot with your stolen sprite. My understanding of google is that it takes a while (a month or so) for anything to be listed in its archive. This picture has clearly been there a good while, and you attempted to cheat and got caught.

Now stop before you have to make up the "my brother hacked my account" excuse.

He is not the first, or the last person to try and cheat on the jams. At least he didn't pull the pixelate a real picture routine.

One basic way to get a balanced form is to draw one half of the basic body, copy it and paste it flipped to the other side.
#270
Yep, it did. But, just recomending not to get it, as it seems an obvious choice to a lot of people.

I just googled for beginner stuff. You could probably find better, but its out there.

I definately wouldn't recomend C++ for Dummys, because it was well beyond my understanding and I had a basic understanding then. At least enough to compile crappy little text games where you fought crap in a dungeon...

Good to hear man!

You better be prepared for how authoring a role playing game will change your life. You are a strong willed person, but can you resist the temptations of the groupies and the wild booze/drugs/rabbi partys?

Hi Rick. I respectfully would like to argue against your points. Here goes:

Quote
I for one don't/can't see what one has to do wtih the other, except that some religious believers do not have faith in their own beliefs and so require proof.

While this is true, many times science is used to disprove a persons spiritual beliefs. So, it works both ways, eh?

Quote
Given the long and colorful history in which time after time after time science, when challenged by religious beilefs, has prevailed, you would think that religious people and institutions would realize the futility of it and just quit.

While I have nothing to truthfully rebuke this specific example, I'll point out some flaws in science.

Basically, when people tell me that religions or a specific religious event didn't happen or yadda yadda because of some scientific finding I always think of this:

Years ago, science told us that eating lots of carbs was good for us, now they say carbs are bad. They are currently letting people go from prisons because new dna science disproves the old science, that apparently was good enough to lock people up before....

Basically, sceince is a learning process, and while I love it and wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers, I feel that in ten years we wil have completely different things told to us by science.

So, can I base my decisions on my belief on scientific findings? Certainly, but in doing so I must remember that Science has its flaws too. It isn't the trump card in this debate.

I also feel that no human endevour, be it scientific research or religious research, is without influences. Many Scientific findings are tainted by what the person wants to achieve, even though aren't supposed to be.

Raggit, just don't hop from the "crazy religous camp" to the "Crazy I hate Bush and won't listen to reason camp". Not everything is black and white, don't allow yourself to be a sheep led by popular opinion.

Yeah, my kid plays that game. I found that pretty funny also, but felt it didn't have enough Hitler...
#276
Okay, so what this is coming down to is this:

Hitler Jokes vs. Guys (kung-fu) flipping each other off.....

I vote for a combination of both.
#277
I think an appropriate response to this game is "OMFG!". But I'll go a bit further.

I couldn't get far, because things made no sense. I didn't know what I was supposed to do, and then I somehow got though a brick wall.....

I think this game needs more polishing before you make any more, or else people will simply not play any future releases by you.
