General Discussion / Re: AGS iOS port?

Cool, I hadn't realised that guy had got his funding. His stuff looked pretty promising.

I've been out of the loop (excuse the pun) with programming with C# and other programming for so long now that I doubt I'd be able to help on the coding sides of things, but if you need a guinea pig for stuff I have a rooted HTC Desire HD, and a iPhone 3g, although  I'm not sure how long I'm keeping hold of the iPhone at the moment.

This is XAGE running on it's first handheld.  Android and iOS devices arguably more attractive platforms in terms of sheer userbase, though I am limited somewhat by a lack of hardware and funds for Mono licenses.  I'm considering setting up a KickStarter Project, but have no idea how likely it is to get backing or what incentives to offer.  In any case, lack of time is the bigger problem at the moment.

Could you not give it a shot and ask for a free license in return for a final copy of XAGE?

I'm a little confused with the monodroid and monotouch stuff, as I thought the idea of mono was a free cross platform version of c# ??

Is it not likely that there are already free equivalents about / coming about, that defeat the purpose of forking out large sums of money for this?

A Kickstarter Project sounds like a solid idea if needs be too. I'm up for that as long as they'e solved their uk issues by now (last one I remember was Resonance and was restricted to Amazon payments which was US only at the time)

may be up for it. Can't make promises that far ahead though. Provisionally count me in.

Can someone maintain the one link and we just post our scores?

Can't really add this as an entry since I've done nothing to it, but I find a devoted attendee to the Socko Entertainment Convention!

Well if time hasn't been called on the voting, I would like to vote for The Girl In The Rags. I really enjoyed the story (I liked all of them to be fair) and this one stood out. I'd like to see more of this (if there is more).

[update]
Just found the link to the original site..... You can grab it from there as well...

Sweet! I didn't realise he was back in action. I hosted his site for a little while until I moved servers and he took time off to do his 3d (which is pretty stunning btw). Glad to see he is up and running again.

As a self confessed fan of DNG (probably my favourite AGS game) this makes me happy.

Anyways here is my effort to keep on topic. For as long as my host stays up (it sometimes gets suspended cos i forget to pay the bill), you can get Da New Guys from here http://indiegamesource.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&min=50&cid=1

Also whilst the site is pretty much dead whilst I revamp it all with a whole new design, the downloads section does contain some older games, some hard to find. Feel free to whore them out to your hearts content

GG, I think this is a bug in ags not the game itself. Particularly with laptops. Mine does it too, but with every single ags game (except the ones without sound). I know several other people having these issues. I too can run 2009 titles on my lappy fine.

When was the last time you played an ags game ?  :P

the interactive smart thingy. Bicilotti. I remember that riddle, was one of my favourites

Don't bother. Scammers I'll bet.

I'm not sure. I got this message:

"youre invited to join to google wave http://googlewaveinvites.com/invite/humanCheck.php?viewType=fcfs
"
but somehow it seemed a little dodgy. Following my previous post, I'd actually recommend against this site. Anyone can see your email so proceed at your own risk

Hi, We can't see your images. Can you fix them? You appear to have selected the wrong link from imageshack. The forum needs direct links.

Otherwise good luck and I look forward to the demo  :)

EDIT: Thanks

Aww, I remember when I was a n00b too. I don't think I was this bad though

I'd like it, but I think Darthy deserves it.

Consequently, I still have 94 gmail invites if anyone wants one?  :)

EDIT: If there is anyone else out there who has a nomination, I am dying to get hold of one. I can't believe uncle larry forgot about me again  :'(

EDIT2: for the rest of us waiting for an invite: http://googlewaveinvites.com/
