Maybe you could get rid of the ripped Wikipedia stuff on the side. The 'back' sign could be more stylized. And find a font that looks more 'computerized'.

I might enter, but I was just wondering.. could I use a rock as the pet? If not, could I use a fictional animal like a jackalope?

Looks like a very unique game. I think Akatosh is slandering you to make himself look good. Looking forward to playing this game, even though it may contain hundreds of spelling errors like numerous other foreign AGS games.

Looks nice, but I strongly suggest you replace the default Roger sprite. I love the cartoony background style, though.

Steel Drummer:
Played it and our song is not used. You can listen to it here for comparison:

Sorry, my mistake. I guess when i downloaded the music1 mp3 a while ago, it was in my downloads folder and the games were in the same folder, so they must have loaded that song. Woops! I'm still a bit tired of hearing that song so many times in those game though. ;)

Sorry for digging up this thread, but how soon until we can get an English release?

This is sorta random, but you took part of the foreground objects from Call Of Duty, didn't you?

Looks like another good game from ManicMatt. Do you need voice actors? I might be willing to give it a shot.

Okay, if you don't believe me, download Mortal Wombat's fighting game. Play it for the first minute or so and tell me if you hear the same song used in SJM.

I played the demo for a while and enjoyed it. It's a bit too expensive, I think, considering it doesn't have voice acting and what not. The music is well done, however, the main theme played at the beginning is not originally done by you, is it? I've heard it in countless AGS games, being annoyed by how much it's used. Did you compose it yourself, Greg?

Glad you enjoyed the demo!

I'm sorry you feel it's too expensive--a lot of hard work went into the game, and I didn't want to compromise that and short change ourselves, especially considering that the money will be used to pay for the expenses of Apprentice 3, and other expenses relating to our game creation. To the best of my knowledge Monkey Island 1, Monkey Island 2, Loom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were not talkies, and even today these are more expensive than Super Jazz Man.

Where in the beginning of the game is the song you're talking about played? The Herculean Effort Productions logo theme, the Super Jazz Man title screen, or the restaurant theme?

All the music is original and composed by myself.

I meant the title music. When the screen says 'Super Jazz Man' and then it fades out to the restaurant. That song has been used a lot in other AGS games, like Family Treasure and that fighter with Sierra characters.

Frank Caliendo is awesome at impressions. Search him up on YouTube (I'm too lazy to post a link, it's 11:01 here and I'm gonna hit the hay soon).

They are good but they seem more like action games than adventure games. They would make good movies, but they have too much linear stuff in them (particularly the first one), like when the clones go on his side and they start destroying facilities. It just seems too linear. Sounds a lot like something from a lame FPS, in my opinion.

sarcastic bunch of little snitts aren't we

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but in other news I played the game a few hours earlier this afternoon. Pretty good, but like RTF said, the music wasn't that well suited.

Maybe you could do a deluxe version of the game with your music?

Hmm.. Interesting title for a game. I'm downloading right now.....

EDIT: Wow! This game blew my mind! LEC quality! Nice one, man! The music was a bit annoying at times but nice for a first time game.

Hey! Maybe John and Steve could make it with AGS!
#539
But all of those game you mentioned were sequels. This one wasn't.

Downloaded it yesterday and played for a few minutes. It's great! The animations are smooth, the backgrounds are nice and the sprites are LucasArts quality! Look to see more good games from you in the future. This one is definitely worthy of an AGS Award.
