Do they have to be a "platform" style side view or can they be any view?

I haven't even played the Dig.. just the demo of it. Can you post some of these GUIs for download so people can use them in their games? This is really awesome!

And I thought, the chinese guy would be a japanese guy. (I just

Yes, harpinder G. Potty is indian.

After the competition, are you going to post the answers? I was sort of wondering the answer to #2...
#745
well it looks like thomas is going to win. I have a feeling no one else is going to enter. In that case, you better get to work on the next competition's theme, thomas.
#746
It also added to the funnyness that all the characters were german accents- even the british, east indian, and chinese guys!
#747
Alright, by the end of today, if no one enters (or proposes to enter by June 15), then this contest is officially over and Thomas wins.

I downloaded it... nice voice acting  8) especially the adlibs! It was hilarious.
#749
it was avi. I don't know how to convert to other formats.

well I had a film that was 11 minutes and it like 200 MB  :P I posted the competition in the competitions thread, if anyone's interested.
#751
Well, the people dressing up as game characters should be in a pose that the character uses in the game.

Here it is: the first ever photography competition (btw moderators, I posted in general discussion and lots of people wanted to do this)! This week's theme is:

ADVENTURE GAME PHOTOGRAPHY

Recreate anything from a commercial adventure game. This can ONLY be the recreation of an adventure game background. Originally, dressing up was allowed, but it got pretty stupid, so dressing up is from now on, NOT ALLOWED.

THE TECHNICAL DETAILS:

Digital camera photography is allowed. Photo editing is allowed. NO RIPPING THINGS OUT OF A GAME! The re-creation of backgrounds must be an actual photo. Hope you enjoy this first photo comp, and if the dealine os too short, I can extend it. The winner of this comp gets to set the rules of the next comp.

If I manage to collect enough courage, I, too, would enter, but then I might win and then I'd have to come up with something new and I'm so unoriginal!

EDIT: You know what? I just went for it! It's completely stupid and emberassing and I kept in some, er, "ad-libbed" stuff in and it's my first time, so I don't know if I've done everything right, but even I found it dead funny when I was listening to it, so here goes:

Oh, and about that hilarious german accent: it's real!Ã,  :P
@ManicMatt: Please join, so I'm not a lonely nut!!!Ã,  :(

Sorry Thomas, I can't access your file. I went to the page but nothing came up  ???

I'm increasing the deadline to June 15th.

Woa, thanks for the feedback. Apparently, there should be a photography comp. I think I'll mae it weekly (or bi-weekly), and the prizes will be the same as the other comps (a pixeled trophy and getting to set the rules for the next comp). A short film comp actually woudln't work too good as the film would take up lots of space. Photography comp it is! I'll get to work setting a theme for the first comp...

General Discussion / Ideas for competitions
Mon 12/06/2006 00:56:08
I had two ideas for a competition and was wondering if anyone would want to do something like this:

1. A photography competition, the winner gets to set the topic of the next round.

2. A short film competition (the film is no longer than two minutes or so). Same type of thing.
#759
Since no one has entered, I'll have to make the contest a few days longer. If no one still doesn't enter, I'll start a new voice comp with a different topic.

The bgs are pretty good. THey look too modern to be Sierra style though. I agree, don't use blur.
