a word of advice (although I'm not good with backgrounds myself): don't use dark out lines in your backgrounds. Using the line tool with a small width would be okay, but a large, black outline looks bad. Unless you're trying to make the game look that way.

Funny, I googled AGS awards and one particular site came up that made me ask this question: it was an ags award tripod site from 2002 or 2003 and it said you needed to "registrer your game here" to be in the awards. That probably was changed though.

Well, actually, 2 qeustions. 1. Do you need to register your game to be in the AGS awards? 2. Can anyone vote on the award winners?

Nice site, I like the new layout  ;). Just a few questions (regarding the game Herculean Effort makes): 1. Why is the Apprentice 2 such a large download (I'm on dialup)? 2. What's up with The Find? Is there any where to download the demo at?

I have two separate game requests but decided to do them as one post: here's the first game.Ã,  Ã, 
THE FOREST
Beta testers needed for this fantasy game. We need you to just play it, tell us what you think, and point out any bugs.Ã, Just a quick storyline so you can know a bit about it:
A boy named Shaun Kyle has a dream of a forest. He wakes up in the forest. Confronted by a dwarf, he is brought before the king of the Forest, Harthor. Shaun is sent on a quest to find a mysterious book, uncertain of what will happen next...

And the second:
DAVID SMITH: PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR (working title)

For this remake of 2010: World of Chaos, we need some background artists. In case you don't know the storyline, I'll tell it here also:
I'm David Smith, private investigator, on another mission. I've been sent to New Zealand to investigate and hunt down an Iraqi terrorist. I have a bad feeling about this...Ã,

well the sprite that i did for the most recent sprite jam is probably what style i'm going to use for my game. do you think i should use that afflict?

I saved in GIF but the upload server blurred it a bit so it has more colors.. I'll redo it with a smaller image size.

I am (almost) done making a fantasy game called "The Forest". I am soon going to begin with the sequel but I was wondering what type of art I should use with the sequel/deluxe version of the game? I had a FOA or DOTT style in mind, but what do you think?

How do I make an interface like Beneath a Steel Sky (eg: mouse changes to a cross when you move over a hotspot, inventory appears at bottom or top of screen when you move the mouse over it)

yes, up and down would be good. it would also be good if you could get body parts from folders rather than just the one, and if you didn't have to overwrite the old ones, etc. I also found that you needed to make the custom body parts larger for them to fit on the body and look good.

cool program. A bit glitchy though, but with some improvement in the program and bug fixes it would be awesome.

I am making a fantasy game called the Forest, and needed some help with it. The storyline for the game is pretty long and is too long to tell here. nothin' in the manual about changing talking views. It only tells how to change the walking view.
