In the real game, it won't be like that. The colorization (is that even a word?!) changes when you save a bitmap as a gif. I'll work on this sprite some....

The paintover is not the right style for this game. I'm going to add shading later- this is just a "first draft" image. I should also add a thing to go across on his cape- it would make it look like an actual cape.
Spoiler

At a certain time in the second game, I'm going to have a non-interactive fist fight between the terrorist and david smith. The terrorist's outer clothes will come off- revealing the mechanic, robotics underneath. I also drew a version of the terrorist showing the robotics..

Here are some new looks for characters for the sequel to the game 2010: World of Chaos, 2010: World of Destruction (working title). The leader of the terrorists, Al Fahar Shamra has gone through an uncanny Darth Vader-like transformation and 75% of his body is robotic (he was in an explosion- see the extended ending to 2010: World of Chaos). Later, I'll post a new look for the sidekick robot, Tyson.

Okay, for now, the lines are off. I did every voice on my own except for the gangsters, David Smith, and Tyson (who are all being played by an AGS user named Raggit). I might need backup lines, just in case these current lines don't work to save as an mp3/wav...

I'm only working on one game right now as it is, and Bone is postboned for now, hehe.

no offence, mistral, but I think you need to learn how to use AGS. You could do the characters yourself....

emulated or real, it doesn't matter. Sounds are pretty much optional for this game. They just add to the effect of it.
#928
There is a version without voices. I'm releasing a separate voice pack. Obi, which voices do you think you'd be good for (besides David Smith, Tyson, and gangsters)? And are you people being sarcastic when you say my game's good or do you really mean it?

Hi, I tried going to the server, using my username, and it says "cannot be found" or something like that. What the flip is going on?
#930
Well, for the first Bone game, I'll just try my best and leave it at that. If I make sequels, I'll improve the art.

this is absoflippinlutely ridiculous. This is supposed to be about a game! I'm changing the subject..... what is everyone's views on, say..... Indiana Jones IV?
#932
Sure, nothing too complicated though. I use MSPaint to do my bgs.

Yes, but you're like, what, 12?
40 actually. That would be great if people could help improve my bgs.

Beginners' Technical Questions / Speech help

I made a game and am going to put speech in. My question is: how do you get speech files to play on room messages?
#935
I fully made one game- I'm just trying to find a host for it. That game is okay- not many puzzles, good storyline, 1989-style characters, bad backgrounds. I'm doing a remake after it's released though.
#936
This sounds pretty neat  :D. I made a game and now I'm putting sound effects in. Could you make the following sounds for free?

The sound of a car braking really hard (the screech)
A gunshot sound
A ship taking off sound
A canister rattling sound
A bomb sound
Fire crackling sounds.
Metal door opening.
Aftermath of a fire.
Fan blowing.

No, I never said that. It's just that most 3d games are some stupid FPS that has NO storyline and is shooting the whole time. Racing games are fun. I like hack 'n' slash quite a bit, especially the Lord of the rings ones, I like the 3d platformers like Jak and Daxter and Racthet Clank. See? I named quite a few there. I don't OWN a console system (except gameboy) so I don't play them too much. I'm an oldschool gamer. And Spleen, I didn't even know what a ****bummer is- I've never even heard the damned word. I don't fall uder either of those categories of people you mentioned. I support Bush, and I'm not a f*ckwit.

well I'm just pointing out that people aren't very friendly on this forum. The only thing their good for on this is for finding people to help you make a game. IMO, this forum sucks.

Oh for heavens sake.Ã,  Do you read people's posts, or do you just think everyone else is below and therefore trying to usurp your awesomeness?Ã,  All it takes is a vaguely pleasant attitude, and you'll get along fine.Ã,  Be an arrogant ass like you did in the above quote, and criticise the people here, and you'll find yourself on the business end of the "you suck stick".

You posted many times before, with a variety of inanely craptacular threads.Ã,  I've given you the benefit of the doubt in the past.Ã,  No matter what you do in the future, I'm willing to accept you'll change your attitude for the better.Ã,  In all honesty, from what I've seen in the past, you've been given a better chance than some of the like-minded, new people on this forum.Ã,  They all thought they were better than everyone else here, too, and threw sissy-fits when someone said anything they didn't agree with.

If you can find a better and more friendly forum, please let me know.Ã,  I'll join, post in your style and see what the response is.Ã,  No, seriously, please do.Ã,  It'll be an interesting experiment.Ã,  Until then, try acting maturely and accepting some advice and/or criticism once in a while instead of whining about it like a spoilt child.
I'm not mad right off the bat when people criticize negatively my art, but when EVERYONE does, I get pretty ticked. I mean, that's pretty much the best I can do.
#939
I'm just mad at everyone because EVERYONE hates my art. Well, I guess most people just see things on the outside. Its the storyline that counts. If you made a game that had XBOX 360-ish graphics, but the storyline was worse than, say, DOOM (the movie), than it wouldn't be that good, would it?

Well, if accuracy is your goal, you should use Jeff Smith's drawings as reference for your sprites.

Here's a quick 3 color sprite for Bone to illustrate what I mean.

2x

Original on left.
Hmm... Well, it's hard to draw Bone from the front, since in the comics he's always on an angle/sideview. Should I actually draw him DOWN or at an angle?
