Looks like a greatgame. I can sympathize with you for bad graphics- all my games have lousy backgrounds. Well, if they like your game, they'll probably like mine. Also, I'd download your game but the filesize is too large for my computer (my internet is slow).

I agree that the bgs aren't the greatest. I'll remake those later and put more time into it. The characters may not look good from the screenshots, but in the actual game they look good. If people think the bgs are bad, why don't they help me do some? And yes, I'm working on other games, I have TONS of free time. Actually, Bone is the only thing I'm working on at the moment- I finished my other game I was working on (see the 2010: World of Chaos production thread).

I could make some for you. What style or type of characters were you aiming at?
#964
thanks. I need voice actors. You wouldn't want to do that, would you?

Keep up the work.Ã,  I have seen worse on backgrounds and worse on graphics in general , but the gameplay ended up being fantastic.Ã,  No one here knows what the game will be like until it is complete!Ã,  I put off playing "life of a duck" for quite awhile due to the graphics or lack of graphics.Ã,  It ended up being a really fun game.Ã,  At least you have the guts to give this a go....I never will!!Ã,  Good Luck!
thanks for the encouraging words... Helm is so critical. I can't do anything about it if no one wants to help with the backgrounds. Most AGS games have lame graphics anyways- Beyond Reality, Rude Awakening, Larry Vales,  Knight's Tale or whatever, the list goes on and on. My animations/characters are awesome though, better than a lot I've seen. This game will do good I think. Anyways, thanks for what you said, it helps a lot despite criticism.

my characters are good (better than some, especially that guy making a runescape game). My backgrounds suck, and I'm good at using ags. Remember, Larry Vales had bad graphics too.

neat graphics- simple but interesting. I wonder how good the storyline is...

Hi, this thread is to advertise the near-complete game, 2010: World of Chaos. Below are some screenshots.
Go through alleyways-very slickly!

Talk to fat, stupid mechanics about parts like the "XRC 500 gear-wedge misclobulator"

STORYLINE
You play as David Smith, private investigator, in the year 2010. When you get a free trip to the Olympics, you are thrown into an international conspiracy of intrigue and suspense. This is..... 2010: WORLD OF CHAOS!!
This game is kinda short, but very cool.
PROGRESS
Storyline 100% complete
Music 100% complete
Backgrounds 100% complete
Characters 100% COmplete
Voices 0% complete

We need voices for this game. If you want to do a voice, reply on this thread. We are releasing a talkie and a non-talkie version of this game too, so, yeah...

This is a 2D version of the semi-popular Bone: Out From Boneville adventure game and is based heavily on the comic book. Here are the "required" screenshots (more to come later):
The dreaded picnic that got Phoney run outta Boneville!
Ã,
Fall off large cliffs!

See the beautiful sights of the idyllic Valley!

STORYLINE (for those who either didn't play the game or else don't read the comics or whatever)
After being run out of Boneville, the three Bone cousins, Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone were lost in a vast, uncharted desert. They became separated some time after that, and found their way into an idyllic valley. They reunite, but little do they know, their adventures are just beginning....

PROGRESS
Graphics 10% complete
Music 10% complete
storyline 99.9% complete
animations 20% complete
backgrounds 10% complete

The official site of the game is at www.freewebs.com/bonevillegames

well, for one, I don't know how to post screenshots, so I CAN'T have anything to show for it. I have screenshots on a website, but I don't know what the coding is to post screenshots.  :P  :'(
#972
I'm not really remaking it, I'm making "my own version" of it. It's going to be like what would've happened if LucasArts had made a game of Bone during the beginnings of Bone in 1992-1995

oh, and
11. I HATE 3D adventure games.  :=
#974
thank you all for your criticism and speculation. Here's why I'm making this game and(even though I'making other games):

1. I have PLENTY of spare time and am free all the time.
2 (this is not a reason, it's a reply to something someone said). I finished another game and posted on recruit a team for
people's voices for the talkie version of that game. I didn't post for a team to help me.
3. I stopped doing the Indiana Jones and Brian Jacques game projects. SO, that leaves a lot that I can do.
4. My PC doesn't have a 3d accelearator card and so it can't play the 3d bone game.
5. I love Bone. Whoever it was that didn't know why the Bone cousins got run outta Boneville, GET A LIFE! No offence :)Ã,
6. I always wanted to do a Bone game, even before the 3d game came out, heck, even before I HEARD of the 3d game.
7. A prequel does sound like a good idea. MAybe I'll even tie in a prequel to the actual game.

General Discussion / Bone: Out From Boneville
Thu 23/03/2006 16:15:44
Hey Bone fans, I'm starting to make a reMAKE of the Bone: Out From Boneville game, except in 2D (like the LucasArts games).  I have the standing view done for all the Bone cousins, Thorn, and Gran'ma Ben. Pictures of these characters to follow soon...

I have a (short but sweet) game called 2010: World of Chaos. I am releasing two separate games, one with talkie, and one without talkie. I have completed the game and I need some people to be voices. If anyone wants to do any voices (they can do as many as they want) email me at jttobin@rapidnet.net and send me some lines (just say for your line "I'm going to be in the game 2010" and put in the email as the subject "2010 game"):
DAVID SMITH
This is the main character. Anyone can be him, unless their own voice hasn't changed, or if they have an annoying voice. Oh, and no girls playing this guy  :P
TYSON (robot)
This is the secondary character. Preferably a robotic sounding voice, but any will do.
THUGS
There are three thugs in an alleyway. One should be a German accent, and the other two should have ney york accents.
POLICE CHIEF
New York accent.
AL FAHAR-SHAMRA
The leader of the terrorist in 2010. Iraqi accent, or British accent.
SECONDARY TERRORIST
Iraqi accent.
AIRPORT MAN
Regular voice.
TOUGH SHOP OWNER
Heavy New York accent.
OLD MAN IN NEW ZEALAND
AUstralian or New Zealander accent, preferably played by an old person.
MECHANIC IN NEW ZEALAND
I picture this voice to sound like Moose from the Archie comics. Duh, I dunno :) Anyone can do this voice.
INFORMANT
Tough guy voice.
COMPUTER IN SPACE
There's a part where they are about to go in a space station. Computerized-sounding.
GUARD
Just a small part. Rough voice, stormtrooper-ey.
