This has probably always been the case, but does the search function really only cover active threads? There’s so much information in locked threads, it would be a shame to hide it from people searching the forum.

I was wrong. As usual.

Thanks for the votes so far. We have quite a close one, so keep the votes coming.

Is throw pillow the same thing as cushion. If so, I always make use of my cushions. My sofa is on a weird gradient so a cushion helps make it flat again. Every body is different and every sofa is different so it makes sense to have something to help adjust things a little. Plus they’re invaluable when you get an impromptu hard-on.

I don't have any memory of Third Eye Blind from the nineties. I don't think I ever hear their music—or if I did, I didn't notice.

It looks like their nineties stuff never charted in Norway, and they're relatively unknown here (the band doesn't have a Norwegian Wikipedia page, for example). I only came to know their biggest hit as the intro song to the BlueCupTools podcast.

I know the song through American Pie (I checked and that film wasn't released in Norway until December 1999 so there's a chance you didn't see it in the nineties), but yeah, other than that they were not a band on my radar either.

Today I listened to a song from the same era that always comes back to me every summer.

But here's the kicker... There is currently a thunderstorm outside.

Return from Death Crimson Wizard
Vox Populi Durq
Acts Reiter
Return of the Makk Captain D
Walk Away and Tell No One TheManInBoots
ReTad of the Jedi Snarky

I’m not too confident about these guesses but I hope to narrow it down by one or two.

Or just keep tapping 'random' on wikipedia until you come across some obscure person, place or thing from history (technically everything is from some point in history if it currently exists).

I guess we've found the answer. Unleash a deadly virus, forcing worldwide lockdowns and giving people plenty of spare time and no excuses.

6 games for April and 7 for March. Let's keep up this momentum!

The winner of MAGS May was Pride and Relatives by IntenseDegree

Pride and Relatives

Create a game that focuses on a little-known figure from history, real or fictional. This could be an adventure in caveman times, political intrigue in the times of Henry VIII, or the recollections of an ordinary soldier in the Vietnam war. Perhaps your protagonist's actions inadvertently led to a major historical event, or maybe they are the younger sibling of a famous historical personality.

Science fiction technology, time travel, and magical elements are not forbidden, but the setting itself should be based in reality. (Maybe Joan of Arc's brother, John of Arc, was a struggling magician? Maybe Shakespeare's famous lost play is discovered, and it turns out to be about aliens from the planet Quarg?)

Existing artwork and sound elements are allowed.

Yeah. Pretty much nobody rates the games. I’ve tried organising ratings drives in the past but they don’t get a lot of traction, although they have resulted in some broken links being fixed.

I think the rating system itself needs simplifying. We’d be better off with an easy one-click 5-star system.

Would a couple of extra days help?

Deadline is Midnight BST May 2nd (or thereabouts).

Captain D you missed one step:

I can't work out what the actual conspiracy is that you seem to be suggesting, Slasher. That Covid-19 doesn't exist?

It sounds like you've gone down a bit of a YouTube rabbit hole watching those "documentaries" like that Wayne Dupree one my mum sent me the other day claiming China caused the outbreak because... 5G... or something... and masts and Spain and Huawei. Those things serve up such a jumbled mix of fact, half-truths and downright fabrications to make something that might sort of seem legit that it's hard to know exactly what it is they're claiming (because the more specific they are the more easily they can be debunked). Throw in some pro-Trump propaganda for good measure (usually that HE knows the real truth and is not playing along with the lie).

Jeez. Sorry to hear about your colleague, Snarky. But glad your friends pulled through.

I don’t know anyone who has definitely had it but I know a few acquaintances who think or suspect they have had it, to varying degrees of severity, but without having been tested they’re not sure.
#1176
I would definitely play some of these but my favourite has to be Return of the Makkk.

I was working on one but I didn’t get to finish it. Maybe I’ll turn it into a story for FWC or something.

Personally I don’t think we should be allowed to post puzzles which require people to have two eyes.

Wait season three? I had kept up to date with the first two seasons but it seems somewhere along the line I have unsubscribed.

Will resubscribe and listen today :-)

Well, it was close between Ponch and JackPutter, but the winner of MAGS March is:

JackPutter, for Dangerous Derek’s Livestream.

That makes two wins in two attempts. Well done Jack. I’ll contact you soon about choosing a topic for May.

Unlucky Ponch. Glad to see another Barn Runner game. Please join in again soon.

And thanks and well done to everyone else who got a game in. After a bit of a dry spell we showed that MAGS is still very much alive and well.
