Sorry, ManInBoots. I just saw your post.

The best way to keep your link up to date is to make a game profile on the website and give me the link to that. This way you can change the actual source link however many times you want and I don’t have to go in an update my posts.

That said, remember that working on your game after the deadline is frowned upon. If you do have to change anything it should only be for fixing the most serious game-breaking bugs and crashes that prevent players from being able to even run the game properly. otherwise it’s unfair. And to be honest, most people vote in the first few days, and they can’t change their vote, so fixing things into the second week of voting isn’t going to make much difference.

@Joseph DiPerla - That’s a tough situation to be in, man. I’m sure your family will all pull through this. I have to admit it’s the first Ive heard about healthcare workers being mistreated because people are scared they have the virus. It’s illogical. Anyone Could have it. It’s up to individuals to take precautions and wash their hands etc, not have a go at nurses who are the real soldiers in this war. Your wife is a hero.

Damn. Sorry to hear that, Domino. Hope you get something new soon.

The number of people being tested can dramatically affect the ratio. If you’re only testing critical cases you’re going to end up with a higher proportion of deaths but if you’re testing as many people as possible you’re going to catch a lot more mild cases and the proportion of deaths will be lower.

I wonder if it’s related to more people being at home and caning the Internet. Might be putting a strain on the hosting websites.

One good thing about people being kicked out of their offices is that there’s no excuse for a bad MAGS turnout in April!

You all better be gearing up for a bumper edition. Start finding team mates now!

Congratulations JackPutter. Your game The Frozen Shore is the winner for February.

You’ll be contacted by PM in the coming days about choosing a topic for April :-)

Dear Customer,

Due to the novel coronavirus Covid-19, we have taken the unprecedented decision to cancel the planned Euro 2020 AGS Sweepstake. However, we look forward to bringing you a full 2020 AGS European Championship Prediction League, in 2021.

Thank you for you loyal service.

I'm in for a money sweepstakes, but do you think the Euros will go ahead?
let’s have a wager on it.

I won’t be running a prediction league this year. Just too busy. But I was wondering if anyone would be interested in something smaller, perhaps a little sweepstake. Entrants would be given a team randomly and whoever’s team wins the tournament wins. I propose doing it for a little bit of money, just like 5 dollars US or something and then split the winnings among the top three teams. Something like that. If folks would rather not use real money, that’s fine too. We could just play for bragging rights. Either that, or anyone can join and choose to pay or not, but the pot is only split among the top three who paid to enter.

Anyway, that’s just a brainstorm. This post is just to get a show of hands as to who is interested, and whether or not you’d want to pay to enter.

There’s almost certainly some online system to make it easier and fairer. I’ll have a look into it.

That is one rave review on the website.

Looks fun though. Congratulations on making your first game.

This TP hoarding started in Japan as a hoax. People had flashbacks of the “oil shock” of the 1970s when people also hoarded TP. And people just seem to enjoy doing whatever it is that other people are doing. But the real kicker is that most people in Japan have “washlets” built into the toilet units that wash their bums anyway. You don’t even need TP (except maybe a bit to dry it up, but you could easily use a towel if you were running low). Seriously illogical behaviour.

The toilet roll thing is absolutely ridiculous. Why specifically that? It’s an interesting phenomenon really. There’s probably some weird psychology behind it. My worry is that, if this is how people are behaving when the virus is only just starting to get going, what is it going to be like when the shit, indeed, does hit the fan?

You have to ask how many of those backers/subscribers actually end up helping with testing and how many just wanted to see an early version of the game because it makes them feel special.

You’re not really supposed to adjust the game once voting has started. Game-breaking bug fixes are generally accepted because we want everyone to release a game that at least runs properly. But changing cosmetic and gameplay elements (sprites, colours, dialogues, puzzles) is against the rules. People tend to keep any tweaks and updates to themselves until after the voting period is over.
