It's better if you round down. Tell yourself you have two weeks left, not three. That way you can scale accordingly and make sure you have a finished product. Those extra couple of days can be for the testing and the last minute bug fixes that no one ever leaves time for.

I'm going to venture a guess that #11 belongs to DBoyWheeler.
That would be my guess too. It's got a furry animal, it's family-friendly and DBoy often likes to hypothesize about “It's like [game title] but [with a difference]”

It's weird that there are trolls accusing YOU of plagiarism. You just have to have a basic understanding of how time works in order to know that's not the case.

Some good ideas here but the one I voted for was my clear favourite.

I'm actually about to head to Hong Kong. Unfortunately it's just a quick transfer through the airport.

Character - Frodo's Curse of the Moon (heartbreaking)
Word Choice - Wiggy's Climate Change (bleak as Hell, I love it)
Overall - Mandle's The Ball (touching stuff)

Honorable mentions to Captain D and Wham's stories, either of which came 2nd in each catogory for me.

I'll go ahead and announce that I entered something. Completely forgotten what I wrote already but I guess I'll find out soon.
#1728
Thanks for that, Sinitrena.

I didn't really have time to sit and chew over the posts in order to really think about it and come up with any ideas. I must admit, I thought at the end we might still have s chance but everyone else was already talking like it was game over an I didnt really have time to think of a solution.

I wouldn't mind playing a round without the fool.

Sweet. I'm actually gonna be on my way back from the UK on the 15. 16th I miiiight be about but I'm back at work in 17th so I might have things to do. I'll let you know this.

I'm also torn. But one or two things Mandle has said haven't quite made sense to me if he's Town. Like his implying a few posts ago that the seer might be better off outing himself early even though we have no guard. I admit he knows the strategies and I don't but that could be him trying to use his position as resident expert to trick us into doing things in his favour. Also saying anyone who leaves it late to vote for him is a wolf was a clever move because I'm about to vote for Mandle so if you believe him then I must be a wolf. I'm not.

Glad you finally made it through the registration, Will :-)
#1733
Ouch. RIP VW my man. It sucks that we haven't got a guard now. And I'm still none the wiser as to who we should lynch.

@Dan - You can still enter a suggestion for as many or few of the categories as you want. Plus there's a lot of films that would fit in more than one category, so you could probably for a slasher film into at least three or four of the categories :-) Plus, you're invited to suggest films that you might not have even seen yet.

Also, this is open for everybody, not just the ‘professionals' as you say. I welcome one or two obscure titles that only the true horror buffs have heard of, but that's not what this is about.
#1735
Alright. Seems like nobody has any thoughts about the list so I'll leave it with those ten categories.

Now, Step 2.

Fill in this Google Form with your suggestions for each of the categories.

Please read the guidelines above if you haven't already.

Remember this isn't a voting process but just a way of giving us a nice pool of titles to consider.

Nice to see lots of buzzing in here already.

I won't have time to set up the voting tonight but I should be able to do it in about 12 hours or so. So consider this a chance to add those extra touches.

Meanwhile, check out the new topic for August.

I will probably try to complete this game to be potentially included in the upcoming bake-sale.
There's an upcoming bake sale? How does one get to be in the secret club of people who know about them?

The voting is over and the people have spoken.
The winner of MAGS August, with a whopping 9 points is Mr Outer-the-blue himself, The Outer Zone for Cyborg Seppuku.

Congratulations on the impressive win. You will be contacted by PM soon about choosing a topic for MAGS October.

Topic: Censorship
This month's guidelines were set by Hobo

Feel free to interpret the theme any way you want. As a guidline I suggest pushing a pro- or anti-censorship agenda, creating a world where someone or something is suffering from or forcing a censorship or simply censor some parts of your own game (which is also a good way to excuse any missing assets and unfinished work :))

PS! I totally added an awesome image to inspire and motivate you all, but sadly it was censored :(

Pre-made and public domain assets are allowed.

What is MAGS?

Started in 2001, MAGS is a competition for amateur adventure game makers. The idea is to create a game in under a month, following the rules set by the previous winner. It aims to help you work to a deadline, improve your skills, and provide a kick-start into making adventure games. Regardless of skill, MAGS is for everyone. Voting is based on "favorite" games, and not the most artistic, or the best coded. If you have bad art skills, use it as a chance to do some graphic work. If you're sub-standard at coding, use it as a chance to give scripting a go. Ultimately, people will vote for the most enjoyable entry.

Rules

Entering MAGS is simple. First, conceptualise your game following the month's criteria (see top). Second, create your game fueled only by coffee. Finally, post your game in this thread, including:

? A working download link
? The title of your game
? A suitable in-game screenshot

At the end of the month, voting will begin, usually lasting for fourteen days. The winner chooses the next month's theme, and their name and game is immortalised in the MAGS Archive. For more information, please visit the Official MAGS website.

That would explain why Adeel is 1014 years old today. I thought he'd put that as a joke.
