I love it but one crit would be the way the floating leaves all bounce in unison. It looks a bit strange.

Well well well. It ain't over yet, folks.

Sinsin, xBRANEx and ManicMatt all got 14/24 points in the quarter-finals.

This puts Matt but one mere point behind our perennial leader, Haggis. Could there be an upset yet?

Also, the semi final prediction window is now open. Don't miss out. And don't forget to include your name.

The dogs thought the stick was a plaything and took it off her making her stumble and hit her head.

Had she been fitted with a device?
Had the lady lost her mind at all?
Had she taken up a new hobby?
#1825
Had something grown on the woman?
Did she have a different hairstyle?
Did she have a beard?
#1826
Less than one hour for predictions. Still 4 people's missing.

I just got another bunch of guesses from someone who didn't fill in the ‘name' field.

Had she fainted or been knocked out.
Did the dogs think she was dead.
Did the dogs eat her alive?

Voted. The one I voted for is a really good idea. Make it, whoever you are. (nod)

I can confirm I did enter.

To be honest I'd rather know who all the entrants are before matching them to the pitches. I find it too messy otherwise.

Yeah or some MUD.

What an amazing coloring ball. So many good entries and very creative an fun hosting from Anas. Great stuff.

1st: 6. Very cool, whatever it is.
2nd: 8. I want this as a paperweight.
3rd: 1. This is also something I would buy.

Oops, I probably shouldn't do it when I have just woken up! I didn't notice the name field..
Don't worry. I also forgot last round when I did my official entry. Even though I'm the one running it and have tested it dozens of times with different nicknames.

how did I end up in second place??? 8-0 :-D 8-)
Technically, due to the reasons mentioned in an earlier post, you are technically third and Matt is 2nd. That's because in the event of a tie the number of correct scores determines the position. I couldn't get the table to work this out automatically, though.

Would this event constitute murder?
Did she choke on something?
Was there any blood at the scene?

Someone has sent me some predictions but didn't fill in the ‘name' field.

I've had three other sets of guesses from Bicilotti, Baron and CaptainD. If you have already sent yours but you're not one of those people, can you either try again or just let me know here.

Cheers :-)

Was she killed by a relative?
Was she killed deliberately?
Was she killed by a decision she made herself?
#1837
Unbelievable, Jeff! Congratulations to England.

And congrats to Selmiak for being the high scorer for the round of 16.

Quarter-final prediction window is now open. Don't forget.

Here's the current table with 8 games to go. Haggis is still ahead.
11 points separates 1st and 2nd place. Interestingly, 11 points also covers the bottom 13 places.

See you in the quarters.

I haven't come across Sun-eating yet but that is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. I wonder if that was invented by Trump supporters to explain why he looked directly at the eclipse that time.

One thing that gets me is that there are genuine flat-Earth believers out there. If it wasn't so scary it would be fascinating. It's not the fact that they think the Earth might be flat that gets me. It's the fact that they seem to genuinely believe it without any sense of irony or tongue-in-cheekness. I really struggle to believe that there's not some part of them who's just going along with it for a bit of fun.

I don't know if ‘Grinds my gears' is the right place for this. Maybe we need a ‘what makes me sick' thread.

I don't get why people post and share abuse videos on Facebook. Usually they're accompanied by captions like ‘this is sick, please share'. But my question is what good does sharing it do other than to upset people who follow you on Facebook? People who share these things do so because they rightly find it disturbing and must feel like it's helping somehow. But how?

I consider myself quite difficult to offend. I can stomach some pretty graphic stuff. But some things are just beyond sick and I find it so weird that otherwise normal intelligent people might think that it's somehow necessary to share something so horrific to their friends, some of whom may be extremely sensitive to certain types of abuse or violence.

I'm posting this because a friend of mine posted a video which just appeared on my timeline unsolicited and started autoplaying. I'll describe it in spoiler tags below but it almost brought me to tears moments before I was about to teach a kids class.

Spoiler
Basically it's a video of a mother brutally whacking her small baby with a pillow.

The only good thing to come out of the fact that I nearly cried and felt sick to my stomach is that I guess it means I'm not a psychopath.

Oh this looks nice. I somehow missed the original announcement.
