I personally really like what Child's Play are doing, but each to his own, I guess.

This weird negativity about CP reminds of that immature derision aimed at bands who have become "too commercial", which is preposterous anyway.  You either like the music or you don't.  If you don't like the music, fair play - buy a different album.  And if you don't like CP, also fair play - buy the Bake Sale Bundle for $1.50 (or wait six weeks and get it free) and then jog on to the website of a charity you do like and donate whatever you fancy.

So, I just decided to have a look at the members list to see if we'd had many new people sign up since the Bake Sale (welcome to those people ) but I also noticed there are hundreds of fake profiles recently.  They are easy to spot because the names are made up of three letters followed by three numbers followed by a somewhat pronouncable set of four more letters.  (ini691shil, irm695shun, jil721tami, zhu293hana).  It looks like they've been going on for nearly a year, with an average of 4 or 5 fake profiles being registered every day.

Exams suck.   I really wanna play more games and finish Barn Runner, but today is revision day.  Might treat myself to a quick BR sesh before bed tonight if I've revoze hard enough.

Seems like Notch didn't see my Tweet.  How about others have a go?  Maybe people who's existence he is already aware of. I noticed he's recently been exchanging Tweets with such fine folk as Binky and Ivy, maybe we could get them to give him the heads up. :-)

I'm not having this.  Kids this age are far too young to have made their mind up about something like this. Sure, they might behave like a girl and play with dolls and even say they want to be a girl, and by all means stand by them.  But at least fucking wait for them to hit puberty before labelling them 'transgender', because chances are, when they discover boobies they'll change their mind again.

This is a funny game.  And the way you can use each character is a great touch.  I definitely wish it was longer, though not bad going, really,  considering the deadline.

Yeah, or maybe the "Bake Sale" could be the annual charity fundraiser and then a separate event aimed at raising money for the community could be held at a different time of year under a different name, such as "AGS Blood Drive" or "AGS Harvest Festival".

Knowing that the money is not going to the developers means it is essentially free, so anything I pay is basically a donation of whatever sum I deem worthy for the cause, and not a payment for the bundle itself.  I have little interest in giving any money to any political cause, and would have not paid half as much as I ended up paying.  I coughed up a little more because I like what Child's Play are doing and I hadn't donated anything to them before.

I would have probably coughed up a similar amount had the money been going back into the community somehow, but as Miguel says, if the purpose of the Bake Sale is to raise money for the community, a lot of people outside AGS would probably pay less, or not buy it at all.  And anyway, I think this enterprise doubles as a way to promote AGS and her games to a wider audience, so maybe it is better to spend the money on a charity or something outside the community.

As for grants funding... Not sure.  It's a nice idea, but it would depend on the individual cases.  I think if people have an idea that's good enough, they should be able to get enough interest through Kickstarter or Indiegogo.

I Tweeted Notch about it, just in case.  He might not even see my message, but if he does, and decides to retweet, that's a guaranteed couple of purchases or more   If anyone else fancies Tweeting him, too, he'd be more likely to take notice it.
