I hadn't played an RPG for yonks until a little while ago when I tried Fallout from GOG.  I really loved the idea of it, but I just found it unplayable after a few hours.  Just realised I wasn't enjoying it at all.  I think maybe I've gone off turn-based battle systems.

General Discussion / Test Your Morality.
Thu 17/11/2011 23:38:21
Did anyone else do the BBC morality test?

I'm interested to see what other people's results were like compared to mine.

I'm reluctant to discuss too much now in case it gives too much away and affects your answers, so why not go ahead and take the quiz first and then come back to discuss your results.

Only read below if you have taken the test.
Spoiler
I apparently have a lower sense of what is wrong than most people, and I am apparently less easily dicusted than most.
It says that I get more angry about governments big corporations and bankers ripping people off than I do about individuals committing crimes etc.
I am also apparently more forgiving of people who fail to report wrongdoings by members of their own family or group.

All this apparently makes me less part of the "human superorganism".  Am I supposed to feel ashamed about this?  Because I don't.

I typed "airbag cocaine face movie" and it was the 4th hit.  Too many search terms narrows the chances of success.

How about this?

It'll be easy if you've seen the film any time recently.

Seeing as no one got it yet and Googling seems to be accepted:

I think Blues Brothers would make a great adventure game. Think of that: two incredibly different main characters, nonsensical but funny plot, great NPCs, some mini-games (pursuit-scenes and stuff), plus, of course, music.
Jacob's Ladder would be good thing to do too (though there is a game based on this movie, and it's called Silent Hill).
The Seventh Seal - great surrealistic epic, it would be fun to play as Death ::).
Some old Bogart movies could make good movies too.

To think about it - this list could be really, really big.

I used to have the Blues Brothers game on my Amstrad (probably still do somewhere).
It's not an adventure game as such, more of a platformer.  You go round collecting records (as opposed to rings or coins) and the mission is to collect all the instruments you need to put on a gig, or start a band, or something.  All the songs from the film are in there. Great Game :)

Was it White Noise?

I swear he was in one of these kind of horror films involving electronics.  But I know it wasn't Pulse.

But the biggest problem for me is the design and animation. The character's exaggerated proportions jar with naturalistic motion-captured movement. The camera is constantly darting about in a manner that's more video game than cinema. And most importantly, Tintin and Haddock's faces look very odd. There's something distinctly uncanny about their distorted half-realism.

Weirdly, I saw these as good points.  I liked how 'real' they looked while retaining a somewhat 'cartoon' feel in the design and animation.  The constant darting about of the camera was for the benefit of those watching in 3D, I think.  If you don't like 3D anyway then you may not appreciate that, but I think Tintin made very impressive use of the 3D.  Possibly the best I've seen yet (not that I've seen very many, to be fair).

I'd never even heard of 2010 Gulliver's Travels with Jack Black, and I intend never to watch it.

Finished already.
Was good but a bit short considering how long it took.
Apparently the 4th part is 'a slew of months' away, whatever that means. :)

How did I miss this thread?  So glad it's going ahead again.

I need to rejig my finances first, but I'm more than interested in coming along.
I'll probably have nothing to show, but it should be an awesome weekend.

Just need some general advice, using Hotmail with Firefox. It seems to come and go in waves, but right now I'm experiencing a problem whereby clicking any link in Hotmail, ie, inbox, delete or the messages does nothing. And this isn't the first time, in fact, it's probably beyond the 50th time since I started using Firefox years ago. Some times it does this, then in a few weeks time, I'll probably be able to click all those links with no problems.

Any ideas, would it be Java related? Just updated Firefox, it hasn't helped this situation. And the previous version was doing it. But BEFORE I went to Mittens it was working fine, so I just don't get it, can't figure out where the problem is originating from. Any other experiences of such or ideas for a fix appreciated :)

I used to find Firefox would get buggy with certain websites once in a while and clearing my cache generally solved it in the short term, but looking back, it did happen fairly frequently.  Be like me and switch to Chrome :-)
