Seems like he's going to be given a third identity - http://uk.news.yahoo.com/breach-sees-child-killer-venables-id-144410826.html

I also watched that documentary a couple of weeks ago, and in it they speak to a guy who had made friends with Venables after his initial release and that Venables had confessed his true identity to him and a few others.  I thought then that he would surely have to be given a third identity when he is released from his current sentence, because they can't allow any members of to know who he really is, even close friends.

I think he should be severely punished if he is found to confess again in future.  He has been given a lifeline that many people feel he doesn't deserve.  He has to prove himself by not throwing away public money.

Forget about his past crimes for a minute, he's still vry much a selfish, ungrateful cunt.

I was also getting a slight Monty Python vibe from the screenshots, so I'm glad we're on the same wavelength.
This game looks worth keeping an eye on.  All the best finishing it and finding a name :D

I'd would love to say that I think it's a conspiracy.  I'd be more inclined to suggest he's actually been dead for years but they've strategically chosen now to announce it to the world.  However, I'm not going to say that because I have absolutely no basis for it and don't want to turn this into another moon-landing thread  :=

I do think the man should be dead (whatever the circumstances), and I frankly don't blame the Americans for singing and dancing about it, however vulgar it may seem to those of us who like to ride the moral highground.  9/11 was a day, so painful for the Americans, I can't even begin to imagine.  If this news brings relief and closure to just a few of those people, then that can only be a good thing.

I made this point to a woman on Twitter who got on my tits with her irate moralizing.  She quite rightly pointed out that this is not closure, and that the terror won't stop.  But so what?  To the Americans Bin Laden is not just a 'person', he is an icon of fear and evil.  It doesn't necesarily have to be the man's death they are celebarating, that's just by-the-by. They're really celebrating the symbolism of his death.  I really don't see the point of getting worked up about it.

Has anyone played 'Scratches'?  I finally got around to buying it the other day.  It seems okay so far, but unfortunately it causes my Laptop to overheat, so I might not be able to keep playing it  :'(

Well, that's tonight sorted.  Don't even need to open up Megarotic today.

Cheers for that, chaps.  That was a lovely little distraction.  Please keep them coming :)

Ah, yes.  Walk Hard was awesome.
Which reminds me, This is Spinal Tap has to be seen if you haven't already.

Make good use of lighting, or lack thereof.  Shadows are scary... maybe you can see the monster's shadow but not the monster himself.  Also, why not make use of Silent Hill's tricks of having fog, torchlight and a radio that crackles when the monster is nearby?

I tried to force lucidity last night, but it didn't work.  I'll keep trying ;)

@InCreator - The longest I've been awake for is 70 hours (so close to 72 :().  I didn't experience any kind of dreaming while I was awake, but I just selpt solidly for 14 hours after that.  I definitely dreamed during that time, but I didn't remember it, and I certainly don't remember it being lucid.

I get lucid dreams every once in a while, although it hasn't happened recently.  I once started to write a choose-your-own adventure style story based on what I can remember from some of my lucid dreams, the idea being that the reader has some degree of control over the story playing out before him.

I'm not very good at waking myself up from them though.  If I try to wake myself up, I often awake into some kind of in-between world that looks very much like my bedroom, but then I'll realise I'm still dreaming, and have a choice of going back to the original dream 'narrative', or having another crack at trying to wake up for real.  This can go on about 5 or 6 times before I actually do wake up.

Sometimes I wonder if that inbetweeny state is where coma patients dwell.

Well, I'm certainly getting an idea of what to do, and particularly what *not* to do in the next part. No more lights-out puzzles, certainly!

And however long it takes to get there, I guarantee there'll be part 4 coming up!

I'm okay with lights-out puzzles, as long as they're not totally out-of-place.  I think the one in T-bab3 fitted in nicely.  Good game, overall.  Looking forward to the next episode :)

Aww man, if only I'd known about this a year ago.  I had so many problems trying to get this to run (even on Windows 98 I could only manage to get it in a tiny box in the middle of a black screen).  I ended up lending it to a friend's boyfriend, and they've since split up, rendering my chances of getting that game back pretty grim.

Sweet!  I love playing as second mystery chacters :P

Can't wait for this, Grundy.

Not actually a movie, but you can't miss Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

Haha, me and a friend were reminiscing about this a few days ago.  Crazy shit. The golden era of 'what-the-fuck?' television.

Cool stuff.  Will this be released as a full 2-player fighting game with more characters and combos, or is it simply to show off how the fighting will work in the main game?

I hope that there is some kind of mini-game, where Indy goes to the arcades (or the 1939 equivalent  :-\) and challenges folks to a game inside a game.

Also, I'd love to see this used with the same tech behind the AGS awards, then we could fight each other online.  It must be do-able?

It looks like something I'd think twice about feeding my dog  :-\

Gorgeous backgrounds, and the sprites are ace too.  The GUI could do with some tarting up, though.
All the best getting this polished off, man.

Yeah I loved Spaced.  It was the best thing coming out of Britain at the time.
But I think Pegg got a bit too big for his boots after America discovered him.   Just don't find him funny anymore.

Having said that though, the trailer for Paul looks alright.  Has anyone seen this yet?  And is it good?  It looks like a kind of parody of an American road trip movie, with a bit of light sci-fi thrown in.

I think they still publish games under the 'Adventure Company' banner, don't they?  I've seen the logo on some pretty recent releases.

[Edit]
Hmm, maybe I'm wrong.  After a bit of looking around it seems they havent published anything for a good year or so...
