Nico Collard:  ona scale of one to ten... I'd give her one! :P

Plus, Nina Kalenkov from 'Secret Files: Tunguska' was pretty hot... possibly the nicest arse in adventure games.

* They all drove away from the camping site.
* Then Dale’s Winnebago got trouble, the hose broke down again so they couldn't drive on.
* They discuss to drive with a car to the nearest gas station or something to see what they can find to fix it.
* They actually do not go to that gas station [or I have missed something] and I didn't see them fix anything cause
there was no duct tape anymore
* They decide to leave the zombie-to-be-guy who has been bitten along the road as he asked them to do.
* Next thing: they all drive. Also Dale’s Winnebago which has the broken hose so it shouldn't be able to drive...

Anyone can clear this up or is it a mistake?

Spoiler

I think a few of them went to the gas station for supplies while the others waited and babysat the camper and Jim... then they fixed her up and left Jim behind.  Maybe it wasn't especially shown on the screen, but lets assume the gas-station trip was uneventful and we didn't need to see it.  After-all, they then went on a 100 mile trek to the CDC HQ which apparently passed without incident... what's important is that they are there now and what happens next.

Wow, this series just keeps getting better and better.
I'm actually loving it a lot.
Can't wait for next week's season finale!

Spoiler
I still think Mearle is going to make a return and the shit is going to hit the fan.

This is more of an observation than a question, but feel free to discuss.
I've noticed how where British speakers of English say something like:

'you can't just come waltzing in here without knocking'

an American would say:

'you just can't come waltzing in here without knocking'... which to my British ears makes little sense.

Quote from: Snarky on Thu 25/11/2010 09:46:22few things annoyed me more than seeing my classmates, well-off Cambridge students, getting all indignant about having to pay more than a token amount for the cushy life and first-class education they were enjoying.

As far as I'm aware the planned changes to tuition fees won't affect the majority of students curently in Higher Education.  It will only come into affect for new students starting in September 2012.   I guess those hoping to go on and do a masters might be more affected, but there will be (as there always has been) ways of getting outside funding for that.

Not much has changed as I understand it...  Okay, so maintenance grant is supposedly being scrapped... that's not a big a deal as it sounds because it will just be added to their student loans.  So yeah, they'll have to pay it back eventually, but it's not going to kill them... as has always been the case, you dont have to start paying it back until you start earning a reasonable salary, and if you havent paid it back after 30 years, the debt gets wiped clean anyway... that's always been the case.  I think thats more than fair.

I think a lot of the students 'protesting' are just enjoying the prospect of waving a banner around simply because it the current 'studenty' thing to do...

Foreign students have it even worse i'm afraid.

English unis love international students.  They pay ridiculously higher fees than domestic students, but they usually have more options in the way of scholarships or grants from their own governments.  That's not to say they don't still consider it expensive, though.

Have you played Broken Sword 4? (Angel of Death)
In it there is a little mini-game that you get to play 4 or 5 times... it's not lasers and mirrors as such, but its exactly the same concept.

Must admit, the 3rd episode was kind of boring for the most part, too much standing around discussing their next move and not enough zombies.  However, the ending was brilliant:

Spoiler
Merle Dixon is clearly going to become some kind of Zombie warlord leading an army of the undead

This is kind of a cross between Dawn of the Dead and The Stand... I like it.

usually, the best non-adventures are good precisely because they make use of original programming techniques.

So in a way, you're just voting for the 'best non-adventure' in two awards with the same name.

But on the other hand, I fear that if they were bunged in with the adventure games in the programming award, then the award will be overshadowed by the non-adventures and those adventures which do have good programming may not be recognized for it.

Personally my solution would be to scrap 'best programming in a non-adventure' because the chances are that the non-adventure that wins 'best non-adventure', does so precisely because of its clever use of code.

(sorry, that was a really long-winded way of wording things...  :-[ )

Just watched the first two episodes.
I'm really enjoying it.  I've always wanted a zombie series, so this is like an early Xmas present.  And I gather they've already bought a second season.

I think the only film of his I've seen is Postal.
Thinking back, I quite enjoyed it, I guess. Yes it was bad, really, really bad on so many levels, but it knew it was bad and didn't try to be anything else.  For me that made it fun.  He's clearly a terrible filmmaker, but at least he can joke about that fact in his own films, if Postal is anything to go by.  I wonder if his atrocious reputation is a little undeserved, because if I ever get around to watching any of his other films, I'm going to do so fully expecting a cringe-fest, and I won't judge him Mr Boll any less if that's exactly what is delivered.

As for the trailers, I'd watch both these films for a bit of light entertainment.

Some of you may have heard of a game in development that was doing the rounds 3 or 4 years ago called 'Once Upon a Time in Japan'.

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=33453.0

Some of you may also know that the guys behind the project disappeared from the face of the planet about a year ago, including the expiration of their website.  Until that point this was one of my most anticipated titles, but like everyone else following the project, I had assumed it was dead.

But today, for some reason I decided to check the address again... and I couldn't believe my eyes, but http://www.abborado.com is BACK!

QuoteAs of October 30th, 2010, Abborado Studios has relaunched it's official website. While things will remain rough around the edges for a little while, we will be providing updates as "stuff" becomes available. Look for dev blogs, news, some activity in the forums (when they open) and and the latest information on Once Upon a Time in Japan (and maybe some other things) to be posted at fairly irregular intervals!

Spread the word.  It's a promising project and the screenshots look gorgeous.

My only concern is that they're pretty much starting from scratch, which means history is more likely to repeat itself, but I'm ever hopeful that this will be a great game.

I'm already way, behind... but I'm not expecting to reach the target anyway, so this is just a bit of fun.

I haven't had a chance to watch anything recently except a couple of episodes of The X-Files ('War of the Coprophages' - absolutely brilliant), but I'm planning to go and see Saw 7 at some point.
