Yeah, come on people.  I've dug deep (well, quite shallow really, nut nevertheless, I've dug).

But even if you don't get all the money you need, Mods, don't abandon the film... the cheapness of the first film was one of its main quirks.  Just pull the boat back in a few yards.

Oooh, a Maths debate!  ;D

Yes, I'm 27...

General Discussion / Re: Worst Website Ever?
Sat 17/07/2010 20:15:08
Can we nominate ourselves?

I'd like to put forward an old Stompages site I put together probably about 10 years ago now.  No idea why it's still on the web.  It was basically a site for writing chain stories, but I hadn't considered the phrase 'chain story' at that point.

Possible contender for worst website ever... just look at those colours...
http://addtoastory.stormpages.com/

But it does have one saving grace... my patented "Navi-Sphere"!!!*   Check it out.  One of only two things I ever made with Flash... the other being a stick-death animation I'm still rather proud of:

*patent pending...

[PS]
Hahaha, Editor-in-chief?  What a twat...

Hey Melcadrien,
Nice to meet you.
Do you have a couple of screenshots by any chance?

Cheers

Anyone, basically.

The main thing is the writing.  What's your definition of famous?  Go by that.

Forget about the guessing game, I just threw that in "for a bit of extra fun"...  ::)

Quite enjoyable little game... I managed to finish with only 28/40 points :-(  I might have another little play and try to find the extra points.

I do think the parser could do with a bit of extra intelligence - Just little things to make it more natural - For example:
Spoiler

'painting', should accept 'picture' aswell.
'use bench' should accept 'sit (down)(on bench)'
'look at plaque' should accept 'read plaque'
'bookshelf' should accept 'shelf'
There were others but they were a bit more nit-picky

I also spotted a bug:
Spoiler

If you are at the very fore of the screen in either the leftmost or rightmost section of the school and then try to walk into the middle section, you get stuck and have to restart.

But I loved:

Getting a point for typing 'fuck'... everybody does it ;)

I know this is well off topic, but just wanted to chip in... sorry Terran.

To be fair, I did feel a bit of Tom Hanks overexposure during the 90's, especially with all the romantic comedy stuff.

His post-Gump career has been much better than all that 90s rubbish...  basically everything from Saving Priavte Ryan to The Terminal was his prime era methinks... that includes The Green Mile, Cast Away and Catch Me If You Can... all really good films in my book.

I think the reason people got irritated by him was because he wasn't giving anyone else a chance at the Oscars.

@thecatamite - nice one, did you look those up somewhere or do you just have awesome memory?

If anyone get's stuck on that Big game, the song at the end is basically the walkthrough.

@Stupod:
So every background blitz theme would become a categorie?
That makes a lot of categories...
But I'll think about it  ;)

I don't necessarily mean for every Blitz theme, but just maybe 10 or so more broader themes p'raps.
#6010
I think it's not ideal having it as a PDF/Word file, as it would mean that the player would have to keep leaving the game screen in order to read it, and that would definitely break the immersion...

That's not to say I'm totally against having this information outside the game... I personally think it would be cool to have such a booklet in hard format, as you'd be able to look at it without clicking out of the game... but then again, I'm not really likely to use 110 pages worth of ink for that...
#6011
If you fancy a bit of extra work you could have categories, or themes.  So the user could choose 'space', or 'landscape', 'interior', 'urban'... whatever really.  I think that would be a nice touch.

If you are running windows just try the "Windows Movie Maker".

Hehe, well I decided to make it in Movie Maker (the reson I never tried befroe was that for some reason I though Youtube didn't accept WMV format... but it does... so I did...

And the end result was okay, but lasted on Youtube for about 10 seconds before being swiftly blocked for breach of copyright... oops, haha.. still, it was a bit of practice.

Icey, I say keep making PMQ2, and you'll probably get away with using some FF character names and ideas as long as you keep it low key... at least while you're in the process of making the game.  Then, once the game is made and released, they can't really tell you to stop, and there'll be enough copies of the game online for people to play it.

But I must say PMQ3 is sounding good.  Keep it up dude, I admire your energy.

Okay, I'm pleased to announce this fortnight's FWC theme:

The Diary

Write an entry for a journal or diary, and write it in the words of a famous person of your choice.

It could be someone from current pop-culture, or a famous historical figure, an author, or sports personality.
Anyone, basically.

Word Count: whatever.
Deadline:  July 25th.

For a bit of extra fun, don't announce who your famous person is just yet.  We can turn it into a fun guessing game aswell.  But at the end of the day it is the quality of your writing that will earn you the votes.

Have fun!

Sometimes I wish I was a girl...
#6016
Ahh, sweet.  Thanks for the vote's people!
I'll have a think about the next theme.  I had actually thought of a cool idea, but I've forgotten it... hopefully it comes to back me, otherwise I'll just think of something else.
