Most of my favorite riddles have silly solutions similar to the one's I posted.  I'm sure this one has a more mathematically logical answer, but I can't work it out, So I'm going the silly route.  I can't get your answer to make sense either, Crim.

Either:

Spoiler

He saw his reflection in a shop window...

Or:

Spoiler

He doesn't know the colour of the hat he has been made to wear for this exercise, but is simply stating a fact about a hat which he does happen to own...

"My hat is white (but its at home on the hatstand)"
[close]

or

Spoiler

The guy behind him passed him a piece of paper saying "your hat is white".

Guys I forgot to pick up the stamp and now I can't get back to the post office.  How do I send the letter?  Can I still finish?

Spoiler

Try looking for some kind of electronic mail sending program in the computing machine on the desk.  You may need to USE the cable on the telephone line first.

Holy crap! By Revolution Software no less? Nice.

And FREE apparently.
I have very little interest in Dr. Who, but I'll probably give this a go, just because it's Charles Cecil.

P.S. I've served Tom Baker in a supermarket where I occasionally work.
The guy is an absolute arrogant CUNT... sorry, but it's true.

I'm playing 'Secret Files: Tunguska' at the moment, and I'm getting on quite well with the interface.  There's nothing special or gimmicky about it.  The cursor changes to a picture of a mouse and tells you which buttons are pressable, and what it does when you press it (look, use, return,) - And the items are locked to the bottom of the page.

You could do worse than to check out Vince XII's Why Your Game is Broken articles.  Part Two is especially relevant to this discussion.

Have you seen Park Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy.  I've seen two of them, and 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' in particuar makes great use of colour. Infact there are 2 versions of this film.  One of which starts off in colour and gradually goes black-and-white as the film progresses.  But even in the full colour version, it is put to good use.

Oh he directed The Spirit aswell.  That's film noir but again it's overdone almost to the point of taking the piss out of itself.

Sin City?
It's a bit too noir, perhaps. But nevertheless, noir it is.

This explains a lot...
Last week I sent CJ a PM with loads ideas for the new site, and his reply was... frosty to say the least... It would be bad etiquette of me to repeat the private message here, but it basically boiled down to 'There isn't going to be a new site...'

I decided not to press the issue.

If this is the final release, the badge on the splash screen still says "3.2 Beta Release".
#6174
Haha, you piss-taker.
Count me in...

Make it something that surprises the player... pull the rug out from under their feet and make them go from 'hmm what's this?' to 'Fuck, me, I've GOT to play this'...

I can't elaborate because I'm tired and I have no imagination, but yeh... everyone likes surprises.

I think we all know that this sort of thing is a sign of popularity. Otherwise I wouldn't have been so depressed by this phrase:

QuoteYour terms - nelly cootalot - do not have enough search volume to show graphs.

Try it now. :-)

sorry to go off topic, but this graph is kind of cool.  you can really see how Facebook totally shat all over MySpace (which is a shame because MySpace is tons better).

If Cosmo Quest came up in the list after just typing 'Cos'... now that would be fairly impressive.  But 'Cosmos Q' kind of narrows it down too much.  The only reason it comes up at this point is because there's little else for the engine to choose from.

It also depends on what's "trending".  At the moment 'Michael Buble' comes up ahead of Michael Jackson... but I guarantee in the months following Jacko's death The King of Pop would have been King of Google Michaels.

That is awesome! I might start up a ZASG faction at my uni  :D

You want cheap accomodation, try http://www.hostelworld.com/.  You can find some really cheap places and everything is ranked and graded by the users, so you can get a rough idea on which ones are good value for money or not.

Quick look at DC, the cheapest one was about $25... in Miami they went down to $11 for a private room... and the rating wasn't so bad. I suggest you read the comments, first.

Sounds intriguing.  Can't wait to see.  I like GUIs.
But it seems weird to have all these impressive sounding bits and bobs and no story.

Some more hard-hitting themes I'd like to see dealt with:

*Letting pregnant women piss in your stupidly shaped hat.
*Sitting on horseback in the city centre for no apparent reason.
*Making teenage boys pour their cider out onto the grass.
*Visiting schools to let kids play with the fingerprint kits.
*Calling your boss 'Marm', because she's invariably female.
