Finished.  And I didded the doodah to get all 82 points.
Good job Grundy.  Had some genuine laugh-out-loud moments.
Is that poor mullet guy based on Randall Flagg?

Also...  The British tourist is based on me, right?

Also, good to hear that Charlie Feathers track again :-)  Classic Ben Jordan!

I'm up to 26, but I'm about to get kicked out of the library... Might have another look when I get home, or probably just cheat, coz I doubt I'll get many more by myself.

Who gets kicked out of a Library?! Stupot is arguably the most badass person on this thread...

Haha, Badass? Moi?  I don't even smoke  8)  Alas, it was just closing time.

Who's the Winner?
I'd vote for CShelton... that's just plain wrong!  But I swear the guy has a Jesus-face in the red spank-marks on his back.

How do people feel about releasing the source code of their AGS games for others to learn from?
I'm slowly but surely learning the basics of AGS with the help of Densming's amazing Youtube videos, but I'd like to be able to open up other people's games and see what's under the bonnet, not to rip off bits of code directly, but for learning and troubleshooting purposes.

How about it?

An idea for the new website: there could be a link on each game page to 'view script', and it would be entirely up to the game's author whether or not they wanted to share that information or not.

Is that the good Korea or the Bad Korea?

Annyonghaseyo means 'hello'
Annyonghikyeseyo means 'goodbye' if you are the one leaving.
Annyonghikaseyo means 'goodbye' if someone else is leaving.
(I think there's another one if both parties are leaving and going their separate ways.)

Annyong on its own is just the informal, abbreviated version of all of the above, and therefore can mean 'hi' or 'bye' depending on the situation.

And actually, 'yes' is né, which sounds like it should be 'no' to the vast majority of westerners...  :-\

Sweet! I love Korea.  And Korean food is my favourite cuisine.
Are you going to Seoul?

I'm off to Japan in August to study for a year.  Mainly Japanese modules, as that's the reason I'm there, but I'll get to take some other classes, and Korean is on the list.  Their writing system is something else.  I've taught myself to read Hangul, but don't understand a single word of it, haha.

The longest I've been away for is 5 months and the thing I missed the most was Marmite!  Seriously, my mum sent me a dozen or so little single-use pots of the stuff and it was possibly the best day of my life ;)

Be prepeare to hear the same five K-pop songs over and over and over and over and over again...  I was only there for two weeks, but got brainwashed by 2NE1.

Best of luck man.  Are you planning to keep a blog?

All of the above ;D

But the main thing you want is a plot.  Without that it'll just be a series of pointless tasks.  If you pull someone over for DUI, then make that person a vital character, or someone who at the very least has some piece of information you need for the bigger picture.

I just played this... pretty good, but how many are there?
Is it a deliberate mistake that you've called it game number 62 in the end credits, but everywhere else it's 61?

Most of these post-apocalyptic movies and books are born out of the fears that such a reality is possible.  Most science-fiction is based on some kind of theoretical possibility, or just plain paranoia.

I think a nuclear apocalypse is far, far less likely than some kind of deadly virus wiping us all out.  Swine flu turned out to be an exercise in mass-hysteria, but it did illustrate just how quickly a virus can spread.  All you need is something a bit stronger and faster, and you've got yourself a very serious lack of people to talk to.

Atelier's vision is appealing... The solitude would be bliss... I hate people.

You're lucky enough to have a style to be fed up with, haha.

I have no style, just a total lack of ability.  But I've been looking at things from a different angle.  My current project is a one-room affair, and I plan to just draw it all in biro on a peice of plain paper regardless if it's shit or not (and it will be). Then I'll just scan everything in and start coding.

Maybe you just need a new angle, something to breathe a bit of freshness into your style.

[EDIT]
I've got one step lazier since I posted that.

Instead of biro, paper and a scanner, I drew everything roughly on my whiteboard I use to practice kanji, and then took a photo of it on my mobile phone.
First I drew the bare bones background and took a photo, and then I drew all the pick-up able items in and took another photo.  The art sucks, but I just want to finish a game for once.

That seems to me exactly what Andail was asking, Babs.

It's generally 100/80/70 years after the death of the author/creator.

What if the author is long dead, but his or her body of works have since become the property of that person's family.  Or 'estate'.  I'm thinking of Dracula here.  I can't work out what the deal is with that book, and to what extent you can use it before it becomes 'taking the piss'.  Does family Stoker have any control over the use of the world and the characters Stoker created, or is their control simpy limited to who gets to print the book?

I don't know if you've figured this out already, but you can also play games with her if you ask nicely... Hangman is quite fun.

Sorry Ryan, I've only confused matters by posting that second bit of code.  The currentstate 'A' is a totally different kind of value than the char 'a'.  Forget the last few posts and go back to my original Q. where I just displayed the main section of my program.

What I'm asking here is simply to be able to put the whole thing in a loop so that whenever the string is rejected it will go back to the start and give the user another chance to type his string without having to keep running the file each time.
