Welcome on board!

First game that comes to my mind is Other Worlds http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/Games.aspx/Detail/471/Other_Worlds
(and it's AGS) and then I remeber a game (not AGS and German, but with photos), called Timanfaya http://www.timanfaya-game.de/index.php

… and there are more along the way

Have fun!

EDIT:
Two more AGS-games like that are „Soviet Unterzögersdorf“
You might want to go through the AGS Archives to find even more by watching the screenshots.

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Gray

Congratulations on your release, Fitz!

It is hard to believe that this is the first adventure game by Fitz.

I love this little smart asses Gray, who has to tell a lot about everything. The graphics in only four! colors  are very well done and give you a real retro feeling and the animations are incredibly cute and tons of very well fitting sounds (often sooo funny) and unique music and ...

It is a must play! (nod)

... and I recommend you first to try all the "wrong" options (not to miss anything)  (laugh) - there are so beautiful reactions - it was a real big fun testing it.

Wishing you all lots of fun to play
and wish for us all that Fitz will go on with game making ... SOOOON.

... damned - now it happened

You got me hooked for this game!

Looks really gooooood!
A cool team for a cool game about a cool lady ~ I MUST PLAY!

You do not need to use the word "appropriate" in this game.

  déjà vu!? - An encrypted message? - A bug in the game?

Hmmm,
Scooby-doo, Jack Shepherd, Mr. Darcy, Inspector Clouseau, Jesus Christ and Lara Croft.

Stupot - you made my day with this answer! Well done!  (laugh)

Since it sounds and looks like a wonderful "real" adventure-project, I don't understand the movement of the thread, too.

At least the sketches and shown backgrounds look very promising (nod)

Thank you for the interesting news, Frodo

Since I didn't get an answer:

... I guess CJ still has not reported yet or no time for this  :~(

googled a bit and stumbeled over this site

http://www.atomicgamer.com/files/35684/the-adventures-of-fatman-pc-zip

I don't know the site or the quality, but the download seems to work.

I do not know if I would be brave enough to publish it in the completed thread and database when I had serious doubts and would be ashamed of one or more aspects that I am unable to change currently.

But no beginner has been lynched so far - as I am aware of  ;)  and if you want to go on in game making and learn more about it to improve -  it seems to be the best place to release it here.

Since your hypothetically question was about what I would do:
Personally I am not that brave - so I would probably publish it at least in the critics thread (not in the database)
and ask for feedback over there  (roll)

Since there are a lot of candles there might be some matches around, too.
We need it for sure later on to lit "something" (no - I don't name this "scary thing in his hand")

> search for matches (and take them)
> also pick up a candle

Wouldn't it be worth to become a headline in the forum?

... and again some really wonderful backgrounds - all those details - WOW!

The swamp with all the different plants and play with light/shadow is awesome.
The only thing I don't like that much (might be because I don't understand) is the soft shining around the towers on the pic in the middle.

It's always a big fun to watch your art.

Thank you for showing!

Critics' Lounge / Re: cave / castle background
Tue 13/11/2012 16:40:30
I am not the one to give a helpful critics, but nonetheless I like the background and the somewhat strange perspective.
The stairs are the only thing that don't work for me, but that has been told already.
For me the colors and patterns look good and if there will be a reason for the light to come through the left door in separated beams (like a grid) it looks fine to me, too.

But it's always facinating to see the tips and explanations of our specialists about perspective and such things in this thread. So I hope someone will find the time to come up with such a helpful example/explanation-image here, too.
