My dear investigators
I think its the right time for giving a hint towards another direction.
I have spared neither costs nor effort to get a photo of the evidence in question.
So for all of you who want to see the cards found in that room
please take a peek …

Hope that won't give away too much but wanted to excuse somehow for the confusion that I caused by my bad english knowledge.
Until the latest explanations I still thought of a fortune-telling cards game and didn't realize that it simply was the question
about what kind of cards have been found.
So I placed the 'playing cards' in the 'yes'-list now
(even if it doesn't matter what kind of cards it was â€" but it feels right that way).

Keep it coming!CASE # 2:
They found three dead bodies in the room, also a set of cards and a revolver.
What happened?

Yes
Were they playing some form of Russian Roulette with the cards and the gun?
Had the revolver been fired by one of the people found dead?
Was (one of) the people shot?
They each drew a card ...
Did any of the three shoot themselves?
Did one of them shot himself?
… was it a suicide?
Were the cards 'playing cards'?
Were the three dead bodies all human?
Did the person who was shot die before the two others?
Is the number/value/color of the card each one drew relevant to there fate?

No
Were (all of) the people shot?
Was there a 4th person playing cards and lost all his money so he shot the other 3 and fled with the money?
… was there signs of a robbery gone bad?
Did all three die of the same causes?
Were the cards playing cards?
… the one with the lowest card is going to be killed with the gun,
but before they can reveal their cards one guy picks up the gun and shoots the other two,
then he turns over the cards and realizes he had the lowest card then dies from a heart attack.
Had the gun been fired more than once?
Were the cards business cards?
Was one of the three people a magician?
Did at least one of the three people die of natural causes?
Did at least one of the three people die of poison?
Did at least one of the three people get stabbed?
Did at least one of the three people get bludgeoned?
Were there still bullets in the gun?
Did they play a game that they thought only one of them would survive?
Did one of the people shoot the two others?
Did they each look at their own card and assumed that they had won or lost?
If so (shot himself), was it an accident?
Did one of the men get busted for cheating at the game?
Did the third guy laugh himself to death? (laugh)
Did one of the 3 guys strangle one of the others?

irrelevant/don't know myself
did the dead bodies have money on them, …
Are the cards 'playing cards' of the suited 1-10 Jack Queen King Ace variety?

@ Mandle

It is near to impossible to fit all the facts right now because not all of the circumstances have been revealed.
You are missing some urgent informations to get it solved at this point

@ Snarky
Sorry for the confusion on my side, Snarky.
It would have helped if you  clarified the meaning of your question when I asked about that.
But nonetheless your cards playing cards is sorted/listed as soon as I found a meaning - just reread the „no“-list to find it.

@ all
So to clarify the aspect about the cards for all I'd like to tell you that it doesn't matter what kind of cards game was played.
They just needed to decide about a winner and everyone took a card from a dek (of whatever kind).

Note to self: Next time let them use matches instead of cards in that story.

@ Cassiebsg
You will remember that one for sure! We just need someone to come up with the right questions.

@ Watson Mandle
Since you didn't post a question I'll I assign it as a solution attempt that â€" as Kumpel stated correctly â€" is impossible because it doesn't fit the already ascertained facts.
So you'll get a

„Were the cards playing cards?“
Ahem â€" pardon? Neither me nor Google translate understand the question, sorry.
Can someone please explain this to me?
Edit:
I googled a bit more and might have found about the meaning.
They didn't play a kind of fortune-telling game and there were no tarot cards involved.
So I placed it now in the list for "no".
In case I still didn't get what you meant, Snarky, please tell me.
#408
I'd need some days to come up with an own story,
so please take this fairly well known story, so to speak, as an easy intermediate meal for to get the thread running.

In case there are no questions until I am back from work or even better - if Snarky already has a selfmade story in mind â€" just start it.
(I'll modify this post afterwards not to confuse the participants if you have a real "Case 2" started )

They found three dead bodies in the room, also a set of cards and a revolver.

Hmm - now what can cause a heart attack for a healthy human ...

Was he sleeping when the train drove into a tunnel, woke up and thought that he got blind because the lights didn't work?

Did he get a phonecall/message that gave him the heart attack?

Has he gone along the dining waggon and saw what they prepared for lunch?

Traveling after every version of possible jobs is recommended ...

Also to be able to get some needed items (that don't appear in every version of the future)

Take a peek over here
and if you don't find someone offering what you are looking for open a thread and ask for what you want.
We have some talented composer here on the forums that might be able to help you out for free.
Just make sure to read the rules before you post.

Good luck with your game!
#412
Is the train intact technically?
Will it help us solving the story by knowing what "A-town" is?
Did he know he wouldn't reach home alive?
#413
Did he have a valid ticket?
Is it a suicide?

@Kumpel
Spoiler
I love those black stories. Thank you for starting this thread.
Please allow me to recommend a little change:
It's not necessary to read who asked what but to know what is right or wrong. The way it is sorted now it is nearly impossible to follow the thread.
So I'd like to recommend sorting the questions and list them in blocks for yes (nod), no (wrong) and doesn't matter (wtf). That way you avoid double asked questions (like we have already) and it will be much easier for all of us to follow the game. Also new riddlers easily can 'jump in' after just reading the last answer of you/the host.
You know what I mean? Like it is done over here. You could always copy and paste your last version and complete it with the new questions.

Congratulation Kumpel
and big thanks for this very challenging and interesting cb to our host.
Also thanks for all the votes that gave me the chance to place one of those nice trophies in my sig.

Congratulations to all the winners!
We got a lot of really cool people in 'the house' - very well deserved wins!

#418
to all participants - it was a challenging shape and you all did a great job! (nod)

Well, but we need someone to go on with the show, so:

My first place vote goes to #7 from Hobo since it is entertaining, perfect use of the shape and looking good.
Also a clever idea not 'just' to fill the shape but also staying to the theme is the funny entry #2 from Anas to deserve my second place vote.
Umm - only one more vote but more creative entries that deserve one...
... oookay - my third place vote goes to the extra dynamic and colourful entry #5 from Kumpel.
#419
Ha, ha, ha - sure I could have done that right away my dear
but I want to be sure that it will count just once if I vote again to be fair (nod)

Edit:
I remembered that you are allowed to vote over and over again and that it will always delete the earlier votes.
So I went with your advice and voted until I got the note that it is in.   Thank you!
