Hi,

I'm looking for a background artist for a small game me and Mouthuvine are making.

It's called Dead Canary and consists of a man with amnesia in amongst the dystopian streets of Boston in the year 2201. He awakes in a warehouse with murdered secret police agents and vigilante meta-physicians around him. Confused, dazed and unaware of the knowledge they were after, the protagonist must escape the warehouse and retrace his steps to figure out what kind of trouble he was in.

Not the most original concept when typed out so briefly but the game will be heavy on back story, puzzles and narrative.

Although only short there will be around 6 - 8 rooms.

I'm looking for general pixel styled graphics. There will be no payment as it's just a small free game that'd help us all learn AGS a little more.

If interested please PM me.

Some sprites can be seen below.

Thanks.

Hello everyone,

I recently wrote an article on The Dream Machine for The Independent online.

Have a read if you like - http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2011/10/10/the-cardboard-dream-machine/

And if you have the time to leave a comment on the article, please do, as it will keep it on the front page for longer, thus giving more publicity to TDM and adventure games in general. Also, spreading it across Twitter and FB is equally as good :D.

Cheers.

This game rouses all sorts of nostalgia in me. It's almost the same feeling I got when I first installed the CoMI demo when I was about 8-years-old.

I wrote an article about PMQ's for the Independent. I focused on AGS and the gameplay more than others have too.

You can read it here.

Love the artwork, kind of reminds me of the Pink Panther as well.

This looks amazing, the graphics especially, but I just wish we could see a screenshot without the huge conversation block over it.

Either way good luck and looking forward to it.

I haven't played the game and I don't know the history but I love how people are slating this game in one breath whilst telling someone their horrifyingly bad graphics are great with the next.

I really love the graphics of this. can't wait to play it.

Graphics remind me of Encarta, looks good.

Love the look of this, story heavy is like music to my ears (well, eyes). I feel many adventure games strangely lack an immersive narrative.

Man I wish I could get this game to work.

: O Is this real life? Amazing.

Yeah sorry about that, the IGM site went down and they lost a hell of a lot of content. I only realised the interview had gone down recently and re-upped it. Thanks for posting bbX

Strangely once I'd bought the game it worked fine (so long as my laptop is plugged in at the mains), must've just been the demo that gave me problem. Loving the game so far, still haven't finished it I want to take my time.

Is that Fred from Scooby Doo lol?

Looks like a great atmospheric game, good luck with this!
