I'm very glad to hear this, but about SFS... Is it dead forever or just frozen? And what is the role of asylim in the plot?

SFS is dead. Frankly, I can't really remember the plot too well anymore... except that it was a terrible mess :) We threw different kinds of ideas in the air and in the end we couldn't really decide which way to go. SFS wasn't planned well, which is why I planned my current project as carefully as I could before starting to actually work on it.

Wow, I'm surprised someone still remembers this project.

I did the graphics and the music for Search for Sanity. Unfortunately the project died a long time ago due to several reasons... Mostly because of bad planning and lack of time and/or interest from some of the team members.

However, I've been working alone for about two years on another project called Fester Mudd & the Curse of the Gold. It's going to be a full-length game and about 30%-40% is done. My plan was to keep my mouth shut about it until I'd reach 50%, but I couldn't resist after seeing this thread. I'll post a new thread about the game on the Games in Production board soon.

A zombie adventure game!!! Awesome  8) I've always wanted to make a zombie game...

Since you're planning to make this a medium-length game... I gotta ask if you'd have interest in teaming up with me somewhere in the distant future to make a real zombie epic? ;)

Here's some of my work:

You've seen the last one earlier, as you probably remember :)

Currently my hands are full of work, so I can't really say when would I have the time to work on such a project... But I thought I'd ask just out of pure curiosity :)

Absolutely gorgeous.

Quote from: Rincewind on Sat 29/11/2003 15:34:20I assume judging by the make-up that you are doing some sort of Gore-ish Cannibal Corpse/Repulsion-style, but I'll ask anyway: What kind of Death Metal is it?

Hmmm, I'd say our style comes pretty close to Six Feet Under and Cannibal Corpse... Yeah.

Finished up our first song today. It's all wrapped up except for the vocals, which will be recorded during the next few days. I'm not sure will I be able to post the song here before the end of this year though, as the song will be released on a certain... thing I'm not allowed to talk about :)

I can give a link to the song in private to those who are interested though.

Looking really nice!

You can post images in a thread by using the "img" tag. Check out http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/YaBBHelp/posting.html for details on how to use it.

EDIT: Ah, looks like Yakspit was faster than me :)

Christ, why am I always the last one to find posts like these?
<frustrated sigh>

This is an awesome picture... I can't really find anything wrong with it... well except this...
1.  Some of the barefoot zombies have some funny looking feet...
2.  Some of the zombies look like they have more than five fingers on their hands (I could understand less than five, but not more)...

This would make some great artwork for a Cannibal Corpse CD!  Or even pixel art.

Good job, keep it up!

THE Necrophiliac,
Sully
(if you like zombies, drop me a line sometime, we'll talk...)

I agree about the funny looking feet... I'm not very good at drawing realistic feet, though I suppose I also drew them without putting in too much effort. However, I don't agree with the thing you said about the fingers :) None of the zombies have more than five fingers, but I think I know what you're talking about. There's one spot with two zombie hands very near each other, and it kinda looks like there are too many fingers in it.

I actually started drawing the picture as a cover for my friend's death metal band, but the band broke up or something and I kind of abandoned the picture... However, recently I heard from the very same friend that he's got a brand new band and he's looking for a cover again... So I suppose I'll finish the picture after all.

I love everything that has anything to do with zombies :) Zombie movies like Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Braindead, Return of the Living Dead, Evil Dead... I love 'em.

I actually recently started a death metal project/band/whatever (called "Zombi") with a friend of mine... If we get somewhere with the project, I'll probably do our covers in the same style I made the picture above. Here's a few photos we took of each other with our silly zombie make-ups on :) I think they turned out to be pretty impressive, considering the really, REALLY cheap and easy method we used to create the make-ups (the photos weren't manipulated on a computer at all, except for decreasing the amount of colours):

Close-up of my face.

Me on the guitar :)

My friend Ville looking really nasty :)

In case someone here likes death metal and is interested in hearing our stuff, just tell me and I'll let you know when our first song is finished and where to get it.

I guess I went a bit off-topic... but who cares, it's my thread anyway! ;)

Posted earlier about this in the Search for Sanity -thread (on the Games in Production board), but I thought I'd post here too, since we didn't get any replies on that one.

Right. So we're looking for a new programmer / programmers. We've only got one programmer (Kosm) who is somewhat active these days, and that's not enough for a project as massive as Search for Sanity. We've worked on the game quite a lot already, but the project isn't even near being finished yet, so it's still very easy to catch up.

More info about the game can be found from the Search for Sanity -thread:

http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=2522

Please post here in case you're interested.

There's something in that oldschoolish, gritty, colourful look that really pleases my eyes. I like it just the way it is. I'm more of a metalhead myself, but hey, punk will do just fine :)

Looking forward to this one.

Yes... We were planning on putting this announcement here sooner or later, but I suppose I could put it here now:

We are looking for new programmers. I know it's shitty to join a project that's already been going on for a while, but we don't seem to be able to finish the project with the current team, since we only have two members that really are active these days (me on graphics and music, and Kosm on programming). Or at least we try to be active. It's hard to stay active when there's a bunch of people in the project who don't give a damn. The game will be rather huge when it's finished, so it's too much work for just me and Kosm.

So... If anyone out there is interested, please mail me at paavo.harkonen@piramk.fi

I'm not going to let this project die away.

Thanks everyone.

Damn, I hope you man a game.

Why, I've been working on "Search for Sanity" for about two years already ;) Nothing zombie-related though, I'm afraid...

I simply loved this game. I couldn't stop playing until I reached the end. The best written AGS game I've ever played. Thank you, Yahtzee.

Right, so I suppose it's ok to post pictures like this? If not, moderators can go ahead and delete this thread.

The picture is still unfinished, but I thought I'd post it here anyway, as I'm not sure will I ever finish it. The problem is that I think I screwed up the anatomy stuff too heavily... What do you think? Any other pointers?

Ehm... That's not exactly the truth :)

When I create a background, I first draw it using a pencil (I don't paint it). Then I scan it and colour it in Paint Shop Pro (not in Deluxe Paint).

So there :)

I thought I'd bounce this thread up from the dead (hey, that rhimes!) just to tell you that I'm returning from the army in two weeks and the project will be dug up from it's grave. I'll be posting some new screenshots/music/whatever when the time comes.

So... yay... and stuff  :D

The game is a masterpiece. I want to marry it :)

Here's a finnish review I did of it... If someone feels like translating it, go ahead, but I won't do it :)

Heh... When you first said that the door goes into the bar, I knew you were talking about the image, but when Kosm misunderstood it as a bug, so did I :)

Anyways, the weird door is half-intentional... I noticed it after I had drawn the pic, but then I thought it would actually be quite a funny gag, so I didn't fix it. In the final game you can actually see a hallway inside the door (when it's open) that mysteriously "goes into the bar"...
