AGS Games in Production / Re: Revenge
Fri 15/07/2005 15:39:22
Short, but VERY, VERY FUN - in good old-fashioned kill'em up style. I replayed it twice and still want more.  Hope we'll see full version soon... There's going to be one, right???

Quite fine as for a first attempt, congratulations!

  Some words of advice:

- Adjust the character speed! It take forever to walk across the room

  - Add more descriptions and interactions. Let the player know whether he can interact with a hotspot or not

  - Remove discarded item from inventory - when, for example, replacing empty container X with full container Y, remove X from players inventory.

Now, shame on me -  I'm hopelessly stuck:

Spoiler
I've pail filled with water and a fish, and met aliens guarding the door. Now I've no single clue as what to do next. Did I miss something?

General Discussion / Re: Wintermute ARMY!!!
Sun 10/07/2005 09:59:28
Quote1 - Wintermute doesn't SEEM to have any COMPLETED games.  I looked around, and could only find demos or previews of upcoming titles, (even though this engine has been around for , like, 2 years or something.

"White Chamber".

"Dead city"

"5 magic amulets"

Overall quality of WME-made games seems to be a tad better than one of those made in AGS... And - the greatest plus - there are no system limits as to number of rooms or dialog topics.

Dark, spooky - almost silent hillish. Controls are tad cumbersome despite their originality.

Thanks to all of you, who took time and effort to criticise the vain attempts I have been posting in Critics' Longue... Without their advice, this screen would look much, much worse:

Mar Man, looking out to the distant mountains north of Ereboren, on the planet of Mes Wosman.

Thanks for advice!

Going for dowload...

And you're right - it was originally a 3d render, though reworked in GIMP.

If you lived your entire life on Mes Wosman, you'd get used sky has this color - and regard BLUE as a wrong one.

The grey thing is - will be, after revamp - a rocky ledge overlooking the grassy plateau.

Actually, it's NOT Earth. Far from it.  Fauna is almost extinct after thousands of years of orn rule on the planet.

Other than that...

Thanks for criticism. I ammended the picture since my post, and I think it looks slightly better now.

Feel free to criticise this background image.

Yes, it's a 3d model but it's not max, it's Blender... Thanks for advice, but as hard as I tried to add details to the texture the effect was always silly - so I left it this way.
#53
That's right. Green stuff is the mother ship.

I hope it will look better when played.

... that might or might not appear in "Sar" - although it most probably will.

Imperial fleet before the battle in Erebo Wosman system - the very battle that marked the onset of Empire's decay.

I hope you like it at least a bit :)

Better than the first one, definitely... I wish I had your talent  :'(

Portrait of character I wanted to appear in "Ambers of Dream".

Pardon the stupid question, but...

Do your "Unfinished Tales" have anything in common with Tolkiens work under same title?

I just finished the game, and found it quite... nightmarish.

If I'll find myself in simmiliar elevator in tonight's dream, it will be YOUR fault! ;)

And seriously - great atmosphere, good gameplay, and promise of continuation - which made me hungry for more. Decent!

Nice idea... it brings to mind "Mind forever voyaging" by Meretzky.

Graphics are excellent! I await your game with anticipation...
