hehe my artist replied while i was replying :D so i had to read his post first ...

they will be shrinked up to proper size i have already tried it, res will be 640x480 (maybe higher if we are made to but i doubt it) those images are to be used as talking view in QfG4 (whole screen) style. im glad that u like them and i would appreciate every comment, hint etc. feedback is bless :)

can u explain cell-shaded style? do u all agree that simpler shading would be better and would give better depth?and what about textures for fur? does anyone have any texture i could use plz?

regards,
TheSaint

yes, QFG character did inspired us (kinda) to make this hero guy that will be main character in our future game.
these will be three views (will turn those to sprites)
i also have a side walking animation that i need to tweak a bit more and color, and we are working on several other characters aswell.
when we get some bigger progress i will post it in "games in production" part of forum.

nice work, good stuff takes longer to finish, i love the skin/fur color on the belly and fornt of body, paw to the left is still white i guess unfinished... markings can be vague its up to author i guess but more contrast would do it good i think.

first thing i wanted to say is sprite is sprite, meaning u can use it in games as EGO sprite
second thing: girl was made in photoshop 4.0, drawn with lines and pencil meaning no flash and curved lines were used believe it or not. and it was made in 300X300 screen/canvas but since she didnt fit 150x150 i scaled her to 50%.
original size:

the one to fit 150X150 restriction

i must agree that sky & clouds make a big contrast in style with painted part(thats bad). doesnt look good. also blue one is better than pinky one -both atmosphere and looks.

just my two cents

I was thinking about giving it a shot, but now I know, I stand no chance :)
thnx for compliment Largo. that manga was done from scratch (my first entirely computer done) in two hours, drawing and colouring. its not bad to enter just for fun (as i did) since choice is great - character wearing a hat :) hehe
btw blackbird keep ur letters small...

i decided to add something myself coz i was amused with this thread. unfortunately i dont think i'll have time till 7th july to draw and color some manga so i made this one:

i reallly like the shaded version it looks very good, things are almost "feelable" (u think that u can almost touch them ;) thumbs up!
im looking forward to c it done in shading. and then in colours ofc. but i think that ur character(from piccie from link)  just wont fit in that kind of 3D realistic background :\

just my two cents

thats what we were aiming for ;)
btw yea outline is incosistent  coz of scanning i will make it better later aswell.

ok here is another one (i still havent shaded hero prolly will do it tomorrow):

what do u think about this one?

knife is adjusted now and blood is made the right color with abdominal bleeding/bleeding to death.
also other knives should be adjusted - handle part. i made knife in her looking more kitchenly. and i dont like the look of that table tbh. dunno why.

hehe thnx for image btw i just remembered that i have same one on my qfg manual/journal so i can look for some shadings there aswell.
dunno about sword coz i will have to draw and animate him while my artist mate is relaxing at seaside and i doubt there will be a cloak. at least at our start. who knows what this can grow into later.

cheers.

p.s.
btw are u guys interested in seing some other chars aswell?
#60
thnx for feedback im glad u like it. here is hands improved version since me and artist havent understand each other first time.

ill add some shading to avoid total flatness with this colors and in the meantime i worked on few more chars.

Ghost: we kinda loved sprite/drawn look of older sierra games and think that 3D ruined the feeling of oldies in new Sierra games like qfg5 kq8 etc. but im curious how would it look like and my artist is lazy to do all animation sprites (so i will have to work on them myself) - so it would be nice to c how it could look like as 3D model. thnx for suggestion and all examples are welcome.

cheers,
