Woohoo..  had to reincarnate an old thread.  This is the first new (not used) vehicle I've purchased and I'm rather happy with it:

Like that but in a metallic blue.

Your name of Michael gives you a clever mind, good business judgment, a sense of responsibility, and an appreciation of the finer things of life. You are serious-minded and not inclined to make light of things even in little ways, and in your younger years you had more mature interests than others your age. Home and family mean a great deal to you and it is natural that you should desire the security of a peaceful, settled home environment where you can enjoy the companionship of family and friends. Whatever you set out to accomplish you do your very best to complete in accordance with what you consider to be right.

Umm..  fairly inaccurate.  It would be dead on if it said instead that I tend to take few things absolutely seriously and the family bit is so-so.

Ran Mike through...  it's horribly inaccurate, despite the fact that it's what most people call me.  Tried some Michael variations as well with no better results. I'm just cut from an odd mould, I suppose.

Not totally true, Remixor.  We had some snow in '01 (At least Sonoma County did).  Anyway, I love winter.  I detest summer.. heat, lawn-mowing, the bright burning thing in the sky is brighter. It's awful.  Leave me to my winter with cool breezes & heavy rainfall.  Of course, I might feel differently if we regularly had snow.

I join the ranks of people to post some stupid picture and write "Not an entry."

Maybe a t-shirt?

It's a shoe; currently on a foot, attached to a leg, I might add.  It's nice to see that even after some bitterness we can all make nice and hug, even if your text says you're keeping your swords unsheathed.

I only remembered to ask about it because I noticed it on my desk calendar.  I don't remember what it's about but your definition sounds like the way to go.

Alright, we're all mature adults here. Those of us who technically aren't at least do a decent job of acting mature.  Let's not degrade ourselves by using personal insults.  It was a misunderstanding.  I realize there's a lot of emotion involved when discussing terrorism, politics, religion and postage stamps but I don't think there's any reason to come to blows.  ;)

Anyway, many good points have been made.  Unfortunately, I can't contribute all that much due to my ignorance.  I blame the school-system for part of it and my laziness in not researching on my own for the rest.  I have one major question, though: What the hell is boxing day?  ::)

Critics' Lounge / Re:DOTT style Guybrush
Tue 09/12/2003 09:04:47
Not bad.  I can see the Guybrush in him and the definate DOTT influence.  Only two critiques: 1) Double-pixellation (Dammit! I swore I would never gripe about this).  In some cases, rather than a smooth curve, the double-thick pixels are creating corners and jaggies that don't need to be there (Unless you're trying for a thick-line look).  2) The shading is a tad inconsistent.  I think it'd be better off with either no shading, a simple bi-color shading or full shading throughout.  If I get a sec, I'll demonstrate what I mean by bi-color shading.

Ok.. didn't wanna screw up your style but MS-Paint's GIF handling messed up the colors.  :P  Anyway, here's a removal of some of the double-pixelling to give it the flat-cartoon look:

IMO, looks a little bit cleaner and more consistent.

W/ some basic (Read: Crappy) basic 2-tone shading:

Basically both are just matters of personal taste.  However, if I were to do the basic shading thing, I'd probably use different colors.

Actually Mr. Unpronouncable  ;), I think he was being facetious in response to my statement.  My point was mainly that the Palestinians were not seeking genocide.  I never said that terrorism was the way to go about things or that the Palestinians had a right to be there.  Whether or not I side with them, I never made any statement to that effect.  I merely pointed out that they didn't share the same goals as the Third Reich.

Farl, I felt like making the statement that "Terrorism is Bad" because I've already seen two instances where somebody actually had to bother stating this.  I am a martyr for the cause of anti-redundancy.  Excellent.

On the topic of quirky books that may make good Christmas presents, here's a link to Bush-Quotes calendars and books.  I don't claim to use perfect grammar constantly but I also don't attempt to use polysyllabic words that are obviously beyond me.   :P

I'd go easier on him but I can't stand the bastard.  :-X

In #2, I was saying that it looks like a fully-frontal view but the shading and positioning of the features leads me to believe that it's at an angle.   Of course, there's a lot of artistic license available and you're free to use it.  ;)  For further clarification, compare the proportions and angle to a photo and see how they line up.  Of course, Picasso didn't have the most well-proportioned figures either.  :P

Yes, terminating with the Jewish race is very just Makri  :P
And that´s what the terrorist are pursuing.

Sorry, but if I understand you correctly, you're stating that the terrorists are persuing genocide of the Jews?  This I doubt.  It seems to be a religious & territorial conflict.  If the Jews were relocated 500 miles or so away, it would be the solution Palestine was looking for.  Then again, maybe I'm wrong and the Palestinians would hunt Jews to the ends of the Earth for the sake of extermination.  :P

Aside from that, I think we can pick a couple points that everyone agrees upon and go from there.  1) Terrorism is a bad thing.  People who do this are naughty.   2) There is no justification for killing civilians, either by military force or that of terrorism.  Even if war is assumed to be justified, I don't think anyone here advocates the targeting of civilians.    Unless there's someone who disagrees with those 2 points, I don't think there's any use in arguing them further.

I don't know if this thread goes about that, but my favourite book is "Jurassic Park".
Have I ever told you that you're my favorite crack-head? ;)

Yes, I was talking about using an opacity mask for the moss-texture.  If you're using 3dsmax then it'll be in the materials editor.  You can set it so that the outer edges grow increasingly transparent and even do so randomly. Of course, it would have to be done in a way that didn't make the moss look see-through, just thinner in areas.  Like I said before, bug Scotch, I'm sure he'd be an excellent source.. it's been awhile since I messed with Max (Before 4 came out, I think).

Editation: Wish I could explain better but I'm at work too often and haven't had a chance to re-install/dabble-with Max yet.

A cookie to anyone who can find any information on this thing...

Obviously something to do with the Wintermute Engine.

I've seen it but only the MST3k version.  Can't find the thing for rent in any local video store.  :-[  After checking out that episode, I burned it to DVD so I can treasure it for all time (or at least until the alien/aztec mothership returns for me).
