Yes, tweening a variable was mostly to make use of the easing in styles, and also for plugging in tweened variables so that we can try tweening things that are not yet supported ourselves  :=

Always willing to be a guinea pig (although do keep in mind I'm a pretty basic coder in terms of skill level (pretty extreme coder in terms of ambition sometimes  :D))

Totally agree! Definitely something to keep in mind, I've tried faking subpixel animation before with only marginal success.

While I prefer the first style (absolutely gorgeous!) I think both are nice, and having two styles within one game is a brave and intruiging idea.

One to watch!

Haha aww, you're a true sweetie Nik (but the cursor stays  :=)

Spent a fair bit of my day animating this, trying to make my animations for this the most detailed yet. Definitely looking forward to letting people play it :D

I finally downloaded this and tried using it today!

Two things I'd like to see but can't seem to find in here - could tweening support for individual variables (ints and floats) be added? And also for drawingsurface functions, such as DrawImage?

Ta!  :-*

Happy birthday to Ponch, of course! May you spend the entire day running through, in and around barns  :=

GOG.com are having a Halloween sale which has discounted versions of some classic adventures, like the Gabriel Knight games and Sanitarium.

None of which I have yet. Tempted.... :=

Oh and hey, what do you know? More Halloween adventure gaming discounts can be found at the Adventure Shop and DotEmu. (quick tip: A Vampyre Story is much cheaper on DotEmu)

Yes! It comes with a free promotional egg and cress sandwich  :=

If I was attending I would hold you to this  :D

Hope this goes down as a success, jealous that I haven't yet emigrated to England because Leafshade and I aren't getting married until next year  :'(

An ambitious and interesting project, Dan! Look forward to seeing it finished and freshly baked  :=

Ilyich - Thank you, that's very kind of you! I do love to make games, and have plenty of ideas I hope to turn into games. I have stuff planned out for bigger adventures, but bigger ones mean less of them haha.

Mark and Toby -  Thanks; I've been trying to improve my sprites now that I feel my backgrounds are better. There's still a lot to learn though - my job for Falling Skywards is fixing that main character sprite so it looks better  8)

Aye, this would be a great step for AGS.

Our issue, however, is feasibility. There's no set figure on how much this will cost, which I imagine will be a fair amount of money or somebody with the skill would've looked at this already, there's no certainty on how much we will raise from the event we're trying to organize and not all of the people who signed up to the Bake Sale support the idea, which is fair enough - we recruited them with requests to help us raise money for a server initially, not porting the engine.

Still, a Mac port is something that we're very strongly considering - it is important, however, that we look at all of our options and consider how realistic any of them are for this event. I'd love to make games for iPhone/iPad and even gave away source code for some of my games to somebody who was attempting to port them - and as far as I've heard nothing has come of this. I've also shared source code with people who have expressed an interest in doing an Android port and again, nothing has come of it.

This is definitely something to keep in mind for AGS at some point, though, whether from this event or for a later date - I just don't know how feasible it is for us to support such a thing with this particular event.

Thank you, Toby, however rather than a community vote I think it'd be best if we respect what Chris wishes to do here. :P

Quote from: pumamanSo actually I think what we need is people, not cash. For example, I should appoint a deputy with full server access who can go in and fix it when it breaks. But it needs to be somebody who is very familiar with the server applications and knows how it all works -- because it's so easy for somebody inexperienced to mean well but end up accidentally breaking everything.

I should also appoint a deputy to finish the new website (or open-source it). But the problem with this is that it requires a copy of the DB to be able to work on it, and I would need to spend time taking a DB backup and cleaning it up (eg. removing private data like PM's) before making it public.

I see this hasn't really been addressed by anyone still, and it was our main initiative for setting up the bake sale, so I'd like to discuss this issue.

How hard is it to appoint a deputy? Do we have many people around here that you trust and can do this sort of thing? Calin has mentioned that he may be able to help, so we have one candidate, is there anyone else?

It'd be a great help if we could have someone in this capacity that has more time than Chris and is knowledgeable about such things.

In terms of the website, I know we have plenty of accomplished website coders and designers around these parts. Is anyone willing to take the reigns of this project? Is cleaning up the DB and backing it up an unfeasibly large task for you, Chris? Are you uncomfortable with the notion of deleting everyone's stored Personal Messages?

What about the option of a third party server? The option exists, is this feasible? Are you willing to consider such an option or would you prefer not to? If money is an issue then hopefully we could help out in this capacity.

Now that we have this information, it'd be great to know how we can use it. If there is something we can help out with a little bit of money from a bake sale, then it ought to be suggested to us! If not, let's see if we can find some people to help out!

I've no qualms with having a penis-man game. We've already got female nudies, I don't think we should exclude male nudies as well.

In other news, Gnome's Lair has given us a bit of a write-up :D

The best part of this is how meta it all will be to you as a player!

Thanks Fitz :D

I've made a bit of a slow start because my computer was out of action for a week or two while I waited for a new motherboard, but had a good day today and we're rolling again, so hopefully we can build our momentum real well. Totally inspired by all the other cool bake sale games, this is one fun event :D

I did complete the game, but I had forgotten that particular bit.

Wait... are you saying that

Spoiler
the player character is an apple?  :D

Happy birthday Xenogia!

This time last year I was in your house helping you celebrate it in person! Hope you have a good one!  :-*
