Congratulations, Misters Bicilotti + Mazoliin. The combined force of your intellectual powers (in the form of level 33 - Space) have overcome me and I yield.

I do not know how many times I have tried this level, it is somewhere between "A lot" and "F#$king heaps". What I do know is that a solution is not apparent, nor is it forthcoming. This frustrates me.

I can get through the part that requires a cubecraft of either yellow or red hue to bypass with my lovely yellow cubecraft, however once passing this barrier seem unable to combine the 3 blocks you have provided me with in a manner that leaves my cubecraft pink in hue, as the level seems to require.

I have searched for an alternate manner to bypass this barrier - namely attempting to bypass it in a cubecraft of red hue rather than yellow but remain unable to achieve this.

Please help me so I can swear at the later levels as well, instead of running out of swearwords to use on this one. If you could provide a subtle hint as to where I am going wrong, that would be lovely, otherwise smack me in the face with a blatant and explicitly outlined description of my required motions, humiliating me and completing your victory in the process.

I remain your humiliated fanboy,

Ben304

(Ps, I think this is the first time I've ever had to post in here for a hint. How humiliating!  :-[)

Have you tried playing this game yet? It may not be the most difficult or epic game out there, but it does have a (reasonably light hearted) take on the issue you're thinking of covering here.

It's an interesting idea for a story that hasn't been done too many times, as far as I can tell. Good luck :).

Your graphics are amazing.

Hah! The new levels are really good - a great way for people getting into ColourWise to learn the mechanics and for those of us who aren't new - well, more levels is always good, right?

Also, WOOOOOO bonus material once you finish!! ;D

Splendid game, with nice colourful graphics and funny animations! Also the music was much radical!

This may be the first game I've ever played where I've had to "force the issue" as well ;)

Looks like I'm not the only punk around here  :=

(so I don't double post, I'm replying to the comment below:

Heh it's cool, I don't plan on defending my territory. Unless you want to have a duel with breadsticks. Coz that'd be kinda fun.

It's a little box off to the side of the hatch, towards the base of the pipe.

Ben, you...

Was "idiot" the word you were looking for?  ;D

Aha!! Well if it is, I'm sorry, I didn't get that. I did, however, wonder what a deranged slinky was doing pretending to be a season.

Yes, it's meant to be spring. My absurd humor fails again! HURRAH!  8)

Nice visual and audio, fun characters (especially Bridget) and interesting puzzles. Really nice animations on the main character.

I really like the objectives screen and being able to buy clues with unlocked fairy dust.

Sadly, I have a small bug(s) to report:

Spoiler
I didn't pick up the plucked chickens until after I did the 'spell' in the magic shop. Bridget has left the cave at this point, but the conversation with her still plays out as if she was there.

Am I correct in thinking this will be an episodic series? If so, I look forward to seeing a continuation of the story! If not, thanks for this game :)!

You thought Ben304 had run out of silly sprite jam entries!?

SADLY NOT!

x3

Wail and gnash your teeth. I have returned.

THIS GAME DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AND I STILL LIKE IT.

Made me laugh as much as the original Bicilotti art game. Which is quite a bit.

She seemed male to me as well. I really like the superhero chick you drew!

My advice is to give her some more feminine characteristics. I only have paint, but here is a quick paintover (of Gilbot's paintover):

I made her feet smaller, her waist less straight, her face girlier. Her arms are pretty buff for a 16 year old girl, too. Also, she's really tall, and the archetypal 16 year old girl ain't that tall. Of course, I understand that characters should be unique, it's just another thing that makes her look boyish.

Liquor and casinos aren't worth it, man!

Hookers... well, a guy has to have some fun, I guess!

As someone who has done the 18 thing, allow me to give piece of advice: It kicks ass!

I only have 2 minutes, but thanks for all your comments and I'll reply to them when I've got a spare moment :)

Quick update with some suggestions followed and some ignored (for now, I plan to do more drastic changes later)

@ Stu, Cheers, and sorry if you were disappointed ;)

Thanks J.

In response to your points:

- I've never done thumbnail type stuff before, but I can see how it could be effective. Is there a guide to what sort of size is good for doing a thumbnail image, or is it just something you guess?
- Nice idea, I might put a couple of people standing in the foreground looking at the descending ship :) (in the bottom left hand corner, methinks)
- I agree that my brushstrokes are all over the place but I think that it's mainly due to inexperience. I've cleaned up a lot of them here, following the basic pattern I set with the initial sketch. I prefer sketching with harder edged brushes and then cleaning up with the soft brushes, so it is pretty obvious as to where I've done a stroke until I clean up. I guess this is something I'll improve with practice as well. With fewer changes in value, are you referring to hue?

Anyhow, some cleaning up results in the following:

Certain things like the ground I will go back over with a harder edged brush once I'm happy with the way everything is to give it a more clearly defined edge.

Again, thanks for you time :)

I've always been a big fan of those atmospheric sci-fi and fantasy scenes that people paint, and really would like to learn to "paint" (with a computer) those sort of scenes.

I've decided to have a shot at doing one - I would have done it bigger, but my current monitor is only 17" crt and 640x480 sits kinda perfectly in the middle of Photoshop at 100% zoom. I hope to have a newer monitor soon...

This is the rough layout I've worked up to for my image so far. Probably took half an hour or so. Some notes about stuff you might ask/suggest:

-Composition wise, I've followed the rule of thirds/golden ratio idea thing I've read about (albeit roughly), placing the main spaceship roughly around the 'Golden Mean' (I think) and the bigger building slightly off the other point.
-Colour wise I didn't think too hard about it. I looked at a few fantasy paintings for ideas, and tossed up going either greeny yellow or orangey yellow. Settled for greeny.
-I used a basic perspective illusion to hopefully make the city look like a pretty big one.
-Birds flying away idea stolen from a billion other fantasy artists. Sorry :P
-Lighting the ground and building orange with the jet flames seemed like a good idea but looks kinda crappy. May need reworking/scrapping.
-I used a big (maybe 39? I can't quite recall), plain brush here because I wanted the emphasis on me creating the image, not the brushes.
-No sketch for the image (well, unless this counts) because I am terrible at drawing things on paper with pencils.
-The image was mostly done on 3 layers (basic sky colour, clouds, city) but I went overboard and added another three afterwards, one for each ship and one for the birds :P.

Obviously it needs tons and tons of work before anyone would begin to call it 'done' but I think it is best if I get advice now before I go and put in details :).

Thanks for your time!

YAY!

Cute game, really made me laugh and smile :D. Great theme song and nice use of voice acting too!

Really liked the minigame, and it even took me a couple of goes to finish!

Still seems like I missed out on a few secrets, so I'd better give it another shot (maybe on the harder difficulty level) 8)
