This would be more accurate if adjusted to

"Fix taps and avoid the dangers of the sewer in order to complete your quest...
...and die trying! Many, many, many times."

I've got up to about level 26 in this game (before being interrupted).

Firstly, this is a great little game. The graphics and music work very well together! Congratulations on completing it!

A few little points I'd like to make (not that I'm suggesting you should change anything):

Level difficulty doesn't progress in a smooth curve. I had a lot more trouble with levels 3 and 6 than I did with 4,5,7,8 and 9.

The jumping is very reliant on the player being at the exact pixel when he hits the key. 1 pixel short and the jump is too short, 1 pixel more and he falls off the ledge. (could be more than a pixel, but sure doesn't feel like it :P)

Climbing the ladder requires me to be in the exact right position when hitting the key! The amount of times I had to restart a level because I was a tiny bit off when trying to climb a ladder had me a little frustrated.

The key configuration makes no sense to me. In certain levels where I have to jump and then hit enter, I had to do a strange hand positioning in which I am hitting space with my pinky whilst hitting enter with my index finger. It'd be easier if the button to jump and the button to use the faucets were right next to each other (like Z and X, for example).

Other than this, I've very much enjoyed playing this game so far and hope to finish it :).

Happy birthday to BaRoN who I don't know but who has made cool games that I have played.

;D

I saw this featured in a magazine and told myself I would try the demo when I can get my hands on it. The visual style looks pretty nice. It's on my list of games to watch.

The fact that Revelation has only 434 downloads on the counter makes me very sad inside. There's a built in level editor, people, MAKE ME SOME LEVEL!  >:(

;)

Also yes, Ponch's games seem to be very under the radar, but he knows that a whole bunch of us love his games so hopefully he'll keep making them.

Also, the fact that ProgZ's Hillbilly Burger Bastards was not considered superior to ROM Check Fail made me confused. How is a practically unplayable game that relies on the novelty of the Worst Gimmick Ever (tm) considered an example of what we should be praising? :( HBB was so good that I've played it through 3 times (I never play adventure games more than twice). I don't mean to offend any RCF fans, but the novelty wore off very quickly for me in this game.

The "DN" logo at the very beginning kind of made me realise very quickly that you'd made it. Plus the fact that it was a reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.

That's kickass :D.

So you're gonna be a full time game developer in the future? ;)

:-[ forgot to mention this one in the OROW thread.

I really like the premise of this game (says something about me, perhaps?;)) and with colourful graphics it's hard to not like.

Puzzles worked well, and I liked the ending a lot. Yay!  ;D

Lovely colourful graphics and some cool puzzles - cute music too :). Good work!

I have to say that, while the humor in Spooks was cute, I never actually laughed out loud. However, I laughed a damn lot whilst playing Nanobots :D

Hooray!

New screenies look great.

Look forward to picking this one up when it's released :).

Oooh! Yay!

But the audio in Man Boy was not done by me. It was done by kaputtnik :D.

Well done to all entrants, these games were awesome and I had great fun making my entry and playing all of yours.

How Many really made me laugh, and Seed was very, very beautiful. Good entries all round folks!

Hooray for this has been released! :D

Impossible to not love the comedy!

But this:

"What kind of music are you into?"
"GOOD music"

...is exactly what I always say when I'm asked. There's no specific genre I'm listening to and no specific music period or whatever.
Heh...I literally got smacked once for saying that. My friend says it's a cheating answer :D. Nobody is going to say they listen to 'bad' music. The only thing I know from the Platter's is the Great Pretenders song. The oldest song I've been listening to? Greensleeves, currently.

I hate to be Colonel Contradictor but I've actually told a number of people that the music I like is bad.

Mainly because when somebody asks me what music I like to listen to, they're looking for an excuse to tell me why the music they listen to is better. Life is easier if I just agree with them to start with :=.

The first thing that struck me is that your sprites look very square (The ingame ones particularly).

Rounding shoulders, legs, arms and waist will make them look less like cardboard boxes and more like real people.

Here's a quick example:

Notice how I've given her hips and shoulders that are more feminine? Granted, not every woman is curved in this way, but the larger image led me to thinking that this is what you're looking for.

Hope this helps :)

I would play it twice! :D

(possibly more than twice, but twice as a minimum ;))

I've just tried importing the room after creating it in v 2.72 and it seems to work fine so far with just the basic animation function. I haven't tried using the SetBackgroundFrame yet but I'm sure it'll work fine :D

Thanks very much for the tip - I was getting worried for a moment there. For reference, the image was created and saved in MSPaint - and as a .png.

I'll pull down the image that I linked to now (unless someone wants it as a reference) so that I don't spoil the OROW surprise ;).

Once again, BIG thanks, Gilbot!!!

Greetings all,

I hope I've not missed something simple in the manual - although I have checked I could not see the solution to this problem.

I wish to change the background at some point in my game, and so I have added a second background frame in with the intention of using SetBackgroundFrame(); to do this.

However, the background I've imported is distorted whenever I import it. I've tried importing it multiple times, in multiple slots, checked the colour depth (32 bit) but whenever I import the background, save the game and then go back to check the background it appears like this:

Image link removed because I am a secret squirrel  >:( ;D

Not only are the colours completely different, it also appears to be double width. I am beginning to get a little frustrated with this, and would be most appreciative of any help :).

If there is some restriction on secondary backgrounds that is causing this, a workaround would also be very nice :)

Thanks!

EDIT: Oh yes, and I am using AGS 3.00
