First off, I understand that movie Sprite Jams have been used before...and that this most definately isn't 'Teh most 1nn0vative Sprite Jam evar!!1!"  But, it should prove amusing none the less.
The topic: *drum roll please*

Funny movie sprite!

You must sprite a funny character/object/whatever from a movie.  Now, this ain't no background blitz, so I won't force you to make a background, but it could possibly help other people recognize the movie.  Now, by funny, it could be something that was supposed to make you laugh, or it could be uninentional (Yoda fighting Dooku comes to mind....) Its also recommended that you choose a movie that the majority of us would be familiar with...

Now, the restrictions are as follows
1.  Resolution: No restriction, just don't go too big
2. Colors: 256

Real Quick Example:

Eh, just a quickie Spaceballs referance.   Those of you who haven't seen the movie, you must think I'm very strange.

Happy spriting, and no flaming me or each other please!

*Edit:  for some of us its still July 14th, and the contest hasn't officially 'started' yet, but we are going with the forum's time

*Another Edit:  Thanks DM, for inspiring this idea

QuoteAndail, what about mixing the roles within the group? Say, for example, the programmer helps with a couple animations. Would that be okay?

I think thats a yes.   ;)

Oh, and Andail,
Do we turn in the game open source?

I suggest that you change the game title in order to keep confusion at a minimum.

I commented on your grammar/etc after another post of yours,  wyr3x.  Please, follow the rules.

oh, and ElectricMonk is a regular here.  He's post 260- someodd times.  So I doubt a welcome for him is in order.  ;D

Movin' right along...I got a kick outta your idea for a Doom game, Monk,  and that claymation thingie has jumped up very high onto my list of "Games that I really really wanna play!"  Good, job!

What program did you use to rip the Doom graphics?  I'm sure there are plenty, but I just am too lazy to look for one.   :D

Hold on there wyr3x!  We can read normal writing, we don't need you to use Caps Lock to help us.  Also, cut back on the smilies, please.   And I doubt that good grammar is beyond your capabilites.

Blasted trolls...

As for this game, well, what Petteri said matches my feelings exactyl

Hey, that's pretty nice game! Graphics are very nice and "old schoolish", nice interface and kudos for making your own save and load GUIs instead of using the custom ones. Also, "speech" is nice add, I thought it would get repetitive but it hasn't got so far... I haven't finished the game yet but I'll try to finish it as soon as possible.

Yup...great job!

No double posting please.  There's a button called "modify" that can help you change your older posts.

Also, try the demo game out, and look at the MI:1 verb box room....that should help you out a lot.

First off, unless you have an actual drawing for us to critique, you're posting this in the wrong forum.

Secondly, the Critics Lounge is here to make people's art better, so why not just pick one of the many guys in a tux that you have, or maybe even all of them, and we can help you get better.  You'll never learn if you just sit there and import the character files.

remmies,

Don't post much about your game until you've actually gotten a good pantload of work done.  Every week or so, another newb comes by, showing their only screenshot and giving a rough story.  Then, sometimes, they will post incomplete pics.  Here's my advice, Do you see many other [people posting incomplete bgs?  I suggest you get a whole lotta work done on this game, or at least more that this, and then, show us some've your progress.

Eh. the harshness.

Wait...lemme get this straight.  You can draw/animate your character in 2D, but you're asking other people to do it in 3D for your first AGS game.  Well, I personally doubt you will find anybody willing to model this in 3D, let alone animate, so why don't you just animate yourself in 2D, and show us what great games you can make, and then, just maybe, more people would be willing to help you.  And didn't you say you would like them to do 'your' backgrounds too?  Well, it sounds to me like you are expecting somebody to just jump out of the blue and 3D model all sorts of crap, but you would mostly take credit for it, calling it your game.  Thats generally not appreciated by us AGS folk.  Now, I suggest you start small, and make your own simple game, and we'll take you much more seriously.  If I assumed wrong about one thing or another, or misunderstood you, my apologies.

Whew..now that I got that out of the way...

Tanker, I still think this whole thing is a bad idea.    Yes,  you have some gifs n such, courtesy o' mätzyboy.  You still have no firm grasp of the story, characters, anything  really.  You don't even know that "the rabbit's"  name is Max, judging from the first post in this thread.  That also means that you most likely haven't read the comics, as somebody thought of before.  Therefore, my conclusion is that you don't have a single friggin' clue about Sam n Max in general.  You're saying that you would "Make up" a story and plot to fit the characters.  Well, why not create your own original characters, plot, etc.  Or....you could actually play S&M, and then decide if you're even a fan of the series.

Bribe o' the Day: I will make you a trophy if you quit now, and make a different game.

TANKER!!!  >:(

This is a joke, right!  OMG...have you listened to ANY of my advice?  You say you are 99% done.....but you postpone it?

Assuming that you are going through with this, I will continue my rant later.  If you changed your mind....good.  Put on a happy face.....doo.doo doo dah doo... :D

Yay for making a fool of myself! :D

Tanker, you still shouldn't make a fan game about another game you don't own, and probably never even played.  Its stupid, to be frank, and you'd be better off just making your own, original game.  Besides, I find it hard to believe that you would follow the Sam and Max story in the slightest.  I also highly doubt that you would ever finish this and make a respectable game others would enjoy.  Sorry for being so candid, but you really need to give this a good thinking.

My other tip o' the day:  Forget it.
