Is it just me, or is Darth's edit moving each side's arm and leg at the same time?  If so, it should definatley be switched to opposite arms and legs at the same time.   Maybe he did, and I looked at it wrong or something....but whatever.

just my 3 1/2 cents

EDIT:  Never mind.  It looks like he did do it right.  It was hard for me to tell before, but I see now.  Good Work Darth Mandarb and LostTraveler!

Ultimo:  Yeah, the shading needs some reconstructive surgery.  *sigh*  Hopefully that'll will fix it.  Thanks!

LostTraveler:  Haha.  Yeah, that would help.  *hits himself with a large trout*

I'll post an updated version soon...first: homework.

Critics' Lounge / SCI0 Drawing - C & C

Well, I made an attempt to draw a Monolith Burger Drive-Through sign, SQ3 style, but it doesnt look all that much like Space Quest 3.   Can I have some C an' C to help improve this?

Edit: It is meant to be seen from inside the Aluminum Mallard, hence the two grey bars

Well, here's my entry.  A little rushed, though I don't know why,  but I'm pretty pleased.  Its my dog Teddy!

What?  You didnt say it couldnt be Nazis!
Is this the style you intended?  I don't practice the "disney style" in paint too often....But it is only 15 colors, and is 100 by 150, so I met those restrictions!

QuoteYeah, the men of low moral fiber are definitely a flavor of those NPCs I'm talking about. They were just random characters you just swordfought.... You didn't really sit down and talk to them. They also walked around randomly in Melée Island.

What're you talking about?   Now, I haven't played MI 4, but I am pretty sure that you don't fight the Men of Low Moral fiber.  You DO talk to them, and they stay in the same spot throughout the first two Monkeys.   Now, If this is different in MI4, my mistake, but I think you got confused here.

Here's a analcakepoohat.  but without the anal part because I used up my loony bin on things of more importance, and couldnt think of a way to incorporate the anus.

Yufster is either wearing a purple turbin or has purple hair.  Both are strictly fashion no-no's.  I shun you from the world of style and fashion.

Looks good to me, but maybe you should make the cockpit window thing a tad darker.  Its entirely up to you, but if it was me, I would darken it a little.   Are you going to need that window transparent?

The top part of the suit is too dark.  I cant see the difference between his arm and coat.  Maybe its my eyes, or maybe its my monitor, but i think you should fix that.  Either make it all white and shade, or make it a shade of grey, with darker outlines around the arm.

I think he looks a little too stiff.  Is he supposed to be elegant & proper?  If so, stick his chest out more, lift his chin up.  If he's lazy, bored, etc make him slouch.  I think this would add to his character, and make him look less like a stick with a face.  I hope I wasn't too harsh.  I do like it, especially the face.  Keep at it!

It wont work.   So....I am redoing them completely, and following eric's tutorial fairly closely (except no wavy hands!).  New walk cycle up tonite if i'm in a good mood, tomorow if im busy tonite.

*Bump Bump*
Assuming I can eventually correct the walk cylce, what program do you guys suggest I use to animate it, so I can upload it here?  I am currently using Microsoft Gif Animator, but I want something better, if possible

Thanks for the help.  Personally, I like Hollister Man's idea, but I might as well try the others before I get to crazy with the square grids.  Thanks again.

Advanced Technical Forum / Moving Ego Head

Is there anyway to make the ego's head follow the cursor while he's idle?  I suppose I could use regions, but that could get very complicated.  Are there any easier ways to do this?  Are there any at all?

The Anonomous Game Developer guys did.  Basically, Tierra.  Don't bother asking them if you can have what they had gotten done before the project went kablooie.  They don't give away any open source stuff.  And just about all the guys who were working on SQ2 before are busy with some other project now.  Sorry.  You're on your own.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Johnny'd Odyssey
Thu 06/05/2004 23:24:23
Well...this isnt exactly the critics forum....ok, it isn't at all...but I have two suggestions:

1)  LOWER INDY'S PANTS!

2)  LOWER INDY'S PANTS!!

The front view seems to be the only one with somewhat correct pants.

Other n that, I like 'em a lot.  Great Work,  I'm looking forward to these games!  I do think you should complete 'Johnny's Odyssey' first.  After you do, you will be considered an AGS verteran, and you can move on over to any game your little heart (or big heart) desires.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Roger Wilco C & C

Fronzel:  I would change Roger, but my game takes place inbetween SQs 3 and 4, and it wouldn't make sense.  My game starts directly after SQ3, and there would be no time to change.  Also, he would hafta rechange at the end of the game.   IMO I think it looks more like the Rog in SQ1VGA.   Anywhoo, thanks for the complements.

KANDYMAN-IAC:  I'll try n fix that.  I dont have much experience drawing crotches and butts from various angles (weird, huh?) so I'll just have to try some more i guess, and follow your example.  Um...."smeggin" ?   lol.  Thanks.

Thanks Zootyfruit.  We should see which front view the people like best, and i'll use that.  Personally, I think i like mine better, but I am more than a little biased, right?  :P
