Arboris, you're horny. (and I kind a love it)

Nothing more I think I need to add,
Avatar is one of the better films I have watched in my life; mind-blowing graphics, intriguing storyline (with a touch of science fiction) and some hot-bodied blue peeps, I think it really deserved the many praises and awards it received. Kudos.

Heck I didn't know you were such a porno, Dual. Welcome to the world of horny guys dude.
Anyway, your sense of self-denial (in terms of self-image) is also quite well polished, though I guess it never goes anywhere near to my level;

I sometimes prefer to look at myself in this manner:

Woooo, the graphics seem to get better and better. Will it really come out by the end of Q1?

The thing, the William thing looked freaky man. :o
You could make some horror film for kids, scare the shit out of the little dudes with that.

Showed my niece, she cried and said it looked like a freaky blood-covered faeces pile.
(Sorry for any offense)

From what I heard, without trying to discourage anyone, is that the problem is not that aid is not going to Haiti, but that it's impossible to handle it there. One airway which used to handle 13 planes a day, now called to handle around 200! One main road, etc...
Yes, we all know that there are problems here and there. In fact, every time some disaster like this happens, there will bound to be certain problems the receivers and givers of aid will face (corruption, lack of transportation, geographical issues etc.).
That is surely a debatable point. However, would you rather try your best to give aid and save lives, rather than wait for more airports to be opened up? I am sure aid workers will be able to find their way into the heart of the earthquake. Too much is never an issue in aid. Too little is.

actually it seems likely we will confirm extra terrestrial life on mars *this year*

its not guaranteed but its certainly more than 50-50 at this stage.

Oh, then wouldn't that be great for extra-terrestrial life enthusiasts like me? I just hope that I would live to see the day that life out of earth would be proven as a fact, not just a theory.

General Discussion / Hope for Haiti.

Hey all,
I've seen numerous topics around here recently, but I have yet to see any specific topics relating to Haiti.
Well, the current situation there now is still of concern, and the whole world now is extending its help to this battered country. It is unbelievable to me (i.e. in my opinion,) that while people are out there suffering, the rest of the world is clearly divided into 3 categories: The ones who want to help, the ones who don't want to help and the ones who can't bother about Haiti at all.

No, I'm no 'humanist' nor am I Mother Theresa incarnate, but Haiti needs help now and it needs help fast. Of course, we can all do our part to help the people there. Be it a donation, a stand or even a heartfelt plea to God for Haiti's restoration would be helpful. I just hope that this topic stirs most of you up to take a stand and help make a difference in Haiti.

While I type this now, MTV is hosting the Hope for Haiti concert. Well, you could take a look at the channel now if you had it. Artistes of different genres and cultural backgrounds have taken time off to sing their hearts out and raise money for Haiti. Even the people who work for fame have stepped out to do their part in this tragedy.

Well, that's basically all I have to say. Below, I have copied down certain links which might shed light on Haiti and also other sites which might well be channels to the good that can be spread to Haiti. Take a little time off from your scripting, from your story-writing and artwork, pause that game-in-production for a few minutes, and give some Hope to Haiti.

'Life is getting increasingly difficult for people here. Many are seeing no aid â€" have not eaten or had water in several days. People are now beginning to die from lack of these basic necessities.' - Hope for Haiti's children funding organisation, which is lacking funds and donations to help the needy children affected by the Earthquake

We just need to feel with our inner selves, let's open our hearts and feel for the victims for just a moment.

Well, I'm no particle physicist in CERN or Space-life enthusiast, but like any normal human being with the fundamental human trait of curiosity, I do hope that there IS life out there in Mars. Okay, make that wherever life can possibly spring out from in space.

Life outside the Earth is something so highly debated and highly discussed not just amongst scientists and people with the brains, but even normal world citizens like many of us here. I think the possibility that anyone of us here will live to see life being discovered in our lifetimes would likely be impossible, but if it does, it would be a breakthrough in science and technology, an era that we will live in and marvel at.

General Discussion / Re: Fear in Dreams

Dreams are a great start for writing stories because you don't consider the rational and therefore don't get held up on the little inconsistencies.

Most of my scripts have started off as dreams.

I agree with Chicky, these dreams might prove to be great starts. Well, many great AGS games start off as a dream, a nightmare or whatsoever and to add on to that, many available commercial games like some of Half-Life 2's concepts were also dreams themselves. Do not underestimate the power of storytelling dreams/nightmares you make have, in case they might help you in your near future.

Woo, this sounds like a good one.
Character makes me reminiscence about Johnny Depp.

For now, there aren't really much games to anticipate for, considering the long times they will take for completion.

Take 'A New Danger' and the 2nd installment for the McCarthy chronicles. Those are likely dreams we might see only in the distant future. For now, IGF 2010 Student Finalist Boryokudan Rue by teen potential TheJBurger, The Far Corners of the World by Wesray and The City at Night by paolo are games I will want to keep my tab on.
#32
Nice work at the graphics there,
film-noir style reminds me a bit of the McCarthy Chronicles.

Adding on to J.H., voice-acting would be very good as well, for such film-noir inspired games. Award-winning McCarthy Chronicles (Episode 1) should prove to be a good reference.

Good job though, and the two interweaving narratives sound very interesting.
Looking forward to your creation. ;D

Excellent graphics and the gameplay, storyline and character development sounds good.

Looking forward to the game.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Skull Craig
Sun 17/01/2010 06:53:13
Quite a good gameplay concept.
Graphics also look good.
Only thing is, I am not sure if this will appeal to people who prefer classic point-and-click, collect-and-use style AGS creations which help in story development and finally lead to the end of the game.

Either way, good job. Looking forward to the release.
#35
Okay, I get the point. Thanks for giving me the idea of it though. It might prove useful to my black-and-white brain sooner or later. ;D

Thanks, guys.

Basically, this thread has so many 'I love this game' and 'It was great' comments on it, so I'll spare the shit.

It was good, but I think that there was a small inconsistency in the graphics.
No, it's not the scripting.
Well for one, the game is in black-and-white. However, fire in the fireplace burns red. And, some of the greens around are green (very dark shade). Okay I know I'm a freak for detail and everything, but I love consistency and
I set very, very high standards for the best Point-and-Click makers in the globe. Maybe you just wanted to add a feel to it, but I really don't know. That's why I'm asking.

Well, not to say that you're a cut above the rest in PnC game making. Keep up the excellent work, and am looking forward to the sequel with anticipation.
#37
Hmmm...
The graphics are excellent and the gameplay you boast in 'Romancing the Blade' is revolutionary, since AGS is more built for classic point-and-click adventure games. Of course, if you can pull it off successfully, it would definitely be one to watch and follow after.

Looks good, will look forward to the beta testing and official release. Good luck dude. ;)
#38
Great to see your sequel up and running.
It looks totally different from 'A Night to Remember', but I do hope that you would keep its style (considering that the protagonist is still Nathan Carter). Really liked the storyline for the first game (the horror and what-not) so I would definitely hope to see it in this sequel as well. Oh, and Snake's art is SICK. With this kind of art, your graphics ratings are going to soar. ;)

Anyway, (I feel kind of stupid and awkward now) but I would also like to play-test A New Danger before you officially release it, together with arjon and the other guys who also stated above. It would be a privilege.

Cheers.

Basically, the game wasn't the best, graphics at a low, gameplay and scripting at an average as well. Many inaccurate placings, with not the most careful thought on the scripting part. I'm not going into the details because users above have posted comprehensive remarks and suggestions which I believe is almost good enough to encompass everything you would need if you are seeking advice.

Overall, enjoyable storyline and I kind of liked the part where you played Thomas' memory (in Egypt or wherever that cave is). It was satisfyingly creative. Like many others, this game does remind me somewhat of the Chzo Mythos, though the storyline is obviously different. Good development in later sequels might make your series notable and commendable.

Hoping to see you come up with a website and also a sequel soon. Good luck. ;)

Basically, it's 6 whole years since Migs said he would be trying this revolutionary idea out.
It's good, it will be a breakthrough, but till now, no documents, no demos, no nothing.

If anyone wants to make such a game, I hope a new post will be created. Not much constructive discussion can carry on here.
