General Discussion / The Neverything
Wed 22/03/2006 19:58:08
Okay, this is the weirdest thing you will ever see:
http://www.theneverything.com

It's some sort of internet movie.
It's about two brothers who live all alone in a boat, called "The Neverything", on a field in the middle of nowhere.
They don't have any contact to the outside world and never had.
All, what they wear, is underwear and they only feed on milk and cereals.
But one day one of the brothers wants to know, what's beyond their boat.
But here comes the twist:
The two seem to be the mental manifestation of a novel writer, who wrote his destiny, to be a meet with herself.
Check it out.
It's so twisted!
The film is released in fragments.
They release some fragments every week.
There is also a trailer.

I, too, don't hate you. And you know it!

You wouldn't get anything for it.
But you are lucky: I would take your stuff for free!  ;)

I swear everyone i work with farts about every 10 minutes.
Where do you work?
In the jury of a chilli contest?

However, I once saw on TV that, if all chinese would jump at the same time, it would cause a minor earthquake.
So, if all people on the world would jump at the same time, may god help us!

There's a test? I don't remember a test.

If you transferred from ezboard (as I did) you probably never saw it.
You haven't passed the test?!?

I just found this.
It translates everything you enter, into how a 12-year-old AOLer would write it.
It's so funny!

for Thomas VoàŸ:
if you want to make the German translation, in the rar yuo'll find the translation source file "ITAtoXXX.txt" that unfortunately is in Italian. Thanks for the offered aid. I will hold you for the future.
Sweet, thank you!

I can understand your reason, why you don't want to continue your work on this game. I had the same idea to create a sequel of a famous game (FotAQ!). But I decided to quit this project, because I think it is to risky for me to make such a game.
So I can accept your decision anyway.
Yeah, I was in the team for that one, too.
I hope, I'm not a jinx, or something!Ã,  :(

Also in the same game when you were underwater looking for the figurehead of the Mad Monkey (or what it was named again, it's been some time since I played MI2) you would also die if you stayed there longer than 10 minutes.
No, you wouldn't die.
First, his face changes color, then he drops the figurehead and swims back to the surface.
I don't want to spoil, what happens, if you do it in MI1, but I can tell you: The game is definitively lost!
Better try it, it's better if you see it for yourself.
#172
Hehe, I was afraid, everybody would already know!  ;D
Well, try to stay under water for more than ten minutes.
(Y'know, after Shinetop pushed you in.)

I just remember a case, when the possibilities to die were balanced very strangely:
In The Secret of Monkey Island is exactly one occasion you are able to die.
I was very confused, when I found out.

If you want to see something real, check this out:

Watch at least 30 minutes after your last meal, only!

Darth, sorry about your eye loss!
#175
Sweet!
I get my chance, at least!
Thanks!  ;D
#176
Well, yeah, I'm just drinking a Pepsi and... AAAAAAAARRRGGGHHHHH! IT'S ETCHING THROUGH MY TUMMY!!!
#177
Der Character, der!

Well, I, too, like a good balance.
It's okay to die, if you do something quite stupid. Like jumping out of a plane without a parachute.
But it's not okay to die at every f***ing occasion, the programmers can just come up with!!!!
Like drinking a can of coke!

How many people ever died by drinking a coke?!?

I'm going to kill you game designers!
Do you like this?? Do you like dying?!?
No? Well, I figured!!!

HOLY FRIKKIN' GOD!!!
It's burned into my brain!

But it's a fake. You can see a, you know, "blurry" part at the end of his left eye.

Wow, that is... awesome!
The Character3D plugin alone rulez, but a remake of Grim Fandango?
Respect!

BTW: I have the german version of GF and play it even in my dreams.
I could do a translation!

Good luck!

I actually made this for fun and to fill some hours in my awfully depressing life and didn't really intend to make this game.
Well, I secretly hoped to get you and Anarcho together to make this.  ;)
Besides, I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with messing around with your characters.
And I have other projects like another fan-adventure, starting a webcomic, world domination... (I, too, have run out.)
